Joel Richardson: What The New Caliphate Means For The World Is “Absolutely Profound”

“Another significant reality now that the caliphate has been restored is that it is actually mandatory for the caliphate to engage in perpetual jihad until there are literally no non-Muslims left throughout the world, or they submit to being subjected peoples.” Sounds a little like something that a man named John once described about 2,000 year ago. Are we witnessing before our very eyes the fulfillment of the second Beast that will ultimately be destroyed forever by the Lord Himself as prophesied by Daniel? It certainly looks that way today. As such, “let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober” …

Revelation 13:15-18, “The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate [‘psēphizō’ – reckon] the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. That number is χξς.”

By Joel Richardson, WND – “Two weeks ago, our illustrious President Obama stood in the White House and made the following statement:

‘[T]he truth of the matter is that for all the challenges we face, all the problems that we have, if you had to be – if you had to choose any moment to be born in human history, not knowing what your position was going to be, who you were going to be, you’d choose this time. The world is less violent than it has ever been. It is healthier than it has ever been. It is more tolerant than it has ever been. It is better fed then it’s ever been. It is more educated than it’s ever been.’

On Sunday afternoon, my Twitter account lit up, as the various radical Muslims I follow erupted with jubilant declarations that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, or ISIS) had officially declared a caliphate – an Islamic state ruled by Islamic Shariah. No longer is it ISIS, but simply the Islamic State (IS). After an official meeting of ISIS’ shura (religious) council, they named their shadowy leader, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, to be the Emir al-Mu’minin, or the commander of the faithful – the first ‘caliph’ in roughly 90 years. The caliph is essentially a Muslim pope, president and general all rolled into one.

The potential implications for the world are absolutely profound. First, according to Islamic jurisprudence, once a caliph has been declared, it is mandatory upon all Muslims to make a pledge of allegiance to the sitting caliph, known in Arabic as the bay’ah. The bay’ah translated is as follows:

‘I pledge my allegiance to the Commander of the Faithful, to hear and obey, in hardship and in blessings, to establish the religion of Allah, and to enforce Allah’s Shariah, and to expand the order of Allah, to establish the global Islamic state.’

According to various hadith (Muslim sacred traditions found outside of the Quran), if one does not make the pledge, he will die the death of jahiliyya, or as a non-Muslim, and should be treated as a non-Muslim:

‘[W]hen he stands before Allah on the Day of Judgment, and one who dies without having bound himself by an oath of allegiance (to an Amir) will die the death of one belonging to the days of Jahillyya.’ (Abu Muslim 20: 4562)

Already, there have been numerous tribal leaders and jihadi groups that have pledged their allegiance to the caliph with their lives. What groups will follow? What might it look like if various groups such as Boko Haram in Nigeria, al-Shabab in Somalia and Kenya, al-Qaida in Yemen, al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan, Hamas in Gaza and the West Bank, and perhaps even segments of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and throughout the world begin swearing allegiance to the caliph? The dangers of a snowballing trend is profound. Rather than having an Islamic State spanning segments of Syria and Iraq, there could be smaller segments of the Islamic State in numerous other nations.

Consider the fact that even here in the United States, Mohamed Elibiary, one of three senior fellows on President Obama’s Homeland Security Advisory Council, is an open supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood, the goal of which is the re-establishment of the caliphate.” Read more.

Self-Declared ‘Caliph’ Wants To Rule World And ‘No One In Iraq Or Any Neighboring Country Will Be Safe From These Plans’ – “Based on recent battlefield victories in Iraq and Syria, the Iraqi militant and his followers believe that the world’s Muslims are going to flock to their cause… [but] while many kings and rulers styled themselves as caliphs, they didn’t have the religious authority that implied… Time will tell if Baghdadi’s grab for power will allow him to hold on to a piece of Iraq and Syria… The Ottoman Sultan declared himself a caliph in 1880, partly in the hopes that Indian Muslims would turn on the colonial British administration there. It didn’t work … The Taliban’s Mullah Omar tried the caliph gambit too. In 1996, shortly after after conquering Kandahar and on the verge of controlling Afghanistan, he wrapped himself in a cloak purported to have been worn by the prophet Mohamed and declared himself the leader of the world’s Muslims. Today, Omar lives in Pakistan.” Read more.

Reblogged this on A Mom Looking Up and commented:
I do not think this is “the beast” spoken of in Revelation, as some do. However, this new caliphate is a big deal; very possibly leading to such prophecies as Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17.

If you are thinking the fourth beast is going to be the “revived Roman Empire” (which is probably where you are coming from???) – I say it cannot be as Rome never conquered the three previous empires Daniel “saw” in his first vision. The Roman empire never “crushed” the peoples it conquered either – rather assimilated them until it was hard to distinguish Greek from Roman. Re-read Daniel’s first vision and the interpretation then have a think about what on earth today fits the requirements ??? Easy to see – it is Islam. Revelation is a closer look at what Daniel saw.

I am curious as to how it can be Islam when it wasn’t established until much later, in the 7th century A.D. I am not arguing, as this is a topic that is heavily debated already. This is definitely worth exploring and I thank you for your input. I in no way presume to have the answers, part of the purpose of this blog is for ME to learn as I slowly put all the pieces together as the H.S. guides. Again, thanks and I hope to hear from you again, Sharon.

Hallo Marciasettle, thank you for your comments. Like you I am also piecing things together, but one thing I am certain about now is that Islam is the final beast of that image Nebuchanezzar saw in Daniel chapter 2 and the fourth beast in Daniel’s first vision – chapter 7. The description is so fitting. When I see the Islamic despicable peoples on television in Syria and Iraq at the moment the verses come readily to mind. Ch 7: 7 “… a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth; it devoured and brake in pieces and stamped the residue with the feet of it, and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.”
The ten toes are to be iron and miry clay and would not mix together. Incidentally Dan. 2: 41. The literal translation for this verse is: “As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay , they will be arab; and will thus not remain united, just as iron does not mix with clay.” That word “mixed”/”mingle” means arab. It is an Aramaic word for the mixed pagan peoples, descendants of Esau and Ishmael. They intermarried with the pagan tribes and were known as “the mixed ones.”
Remember the promise to Hagar in Genesis 16:12 that they would be a wild people and every hand shall be against his brother! We certainly see that today. When these people are not fighting Israel or the West they are fighting amongst themselves. They are “arab” – a mixed people of many pagan backgrounds.
The bit about Islam not being around till 7th century AD does not negate the prophecy. I quite agree to the date of Islam, however prophecy does give us a picture of the future and this is exactly what Daniel saw – the rise of Islam which did receive a “wound to the head” at the gates of Vienna and in France at Poitier (Battle of Tours) in year AD 732 thus causing it to retrench for centuries. It has however, revived and we see it flexing it’s muscles now in an attempt to expand it’s caliphate (now formed in these last few days) and conquer the world for Allah. We know of course that our Saviour will not let that happen.
It is a tragedy the west is absolutely blind to what is happening and the church thinks it is alright because the Roman Empire has not been revived yet!!

Well, some say the Roman Empire has been revived in the form of the EU and possibly even the UN.

Anyway, you do make some interesting points. Not only are the Arabs a mixed people, like you say, but Islam itself is divided among the Shias and Sunnis. Arabs and Persians.

It is challenging indeed to try and piece it all together. Such as, in what situation will Islam-or the Mahdi-make a peace agreement with Israel? The likelihood of that ever happening seems very slim. Furthermore, if Psalm 83 is a prophecy as some seem to think, how does that fit in? What about Ezekiel 38-39?

To me a likely scenario might look something like this: the muslims join the current caliphate that was just established by ISIS. They conspire to attack Israel. Psalm 83 comes to pass, leaving Israel’s immediate neighbors like chaff. Perhaps Isaiah 17 happens then as well. Israel is then at relative peace. Ezekiel 38/39 takes place. Once the middle east is all but wiped clean, the anti-christ makes his appearance. He has good “reason” to make a peace covenant with Israel because it is obvious they have been victorious in the previous two attacks.

I don’t know. Further prayer and study is definitely required. I’ve been hung up on Neb’s dream of the statue and the kingdom being divided. Your answer about Islam makes sense.

              Hallo Marciasettle,
I am in haste but just wanted to say two or three things.
You made a comment that some people think the Roman Empire has been revived in the form of the UN or EU. As I read that I thought immediately of the UN and the fact that most of the votes there come from Muslem countries and the EU is running scared of Islam! Hardly a revived Roman Empire. Islam is certainly a force to watch in these dark days.
I don’t believe there is any “peace treaty” going to be made with Israel fulfilling prophecy. This so-called peace treaty as most say is for seven years is built on a false understanding of Daniel’s 70 weeks prophecy. It has (in my opinion) been fulfilled and by the time of the destruction of Jerusalem all was over.
There has been much written about this on the Daniel 9:27 article some months ago – well worth your looking at, particularly the comments from about the middle to the end.
              I recommend it.

ISIS and other splintered, factional groups are just Muslim thugs. Hopefully sectarian violence will escalate between the fighters of Shiite and Sunni opposition fighters and they will kill each other off before any caliphate is firmly established. My view is….Wait and see what happens first before quoting scriptures.
