Prophecy. Unlike the self-fulfilling Islamic “predictions” that are contingent upon its own believers to manufacture, maneuver and manipulate events in an effort to somehow render “Islamic prophecy” as genuine, the Bible is filled with true predictive prophecy of human behavior, demonstrably independent of any effort to facilitate its fulfillment. For nearly two-thousand years Christians have shuddered at some of the most frightening predictions described in the Book of Revelation, a sister-book to the texts of Daniel and filled with eschatological language that has inspired end-of-days folklore for nearly two millennia. Though filled with metaphor and symbolism, many aspects of Revelation’s predatory, beast-like kingdom as it relates to the conduct of its adherents are not. Beheading and forced conversion, for example, are understood as the literal conduct of a kingdom that would rear its ugly head prior to the Second Coming of Christ. Christians would be one of its primary targets. Decapitation would be one of its preferred methods of execution. And all, regardless of race, tribe, language or social status, would be forced to submit to its religious dictates on pain of death. It’s the stuff of nightmares.
As the article “Unsealed: A Closer Look At Revelation 6 And ‘The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse’” explains, the seals of Revelation depict separate progressive, compound stages to an end-of-days beast kingdom that would one day expand to become the largest, most deceptive politico-religious system the world has ever known, the kingdom of Islam. Though much of the following will overlap with other articles on this site, the intent here is to briefly compare the conduct of those who follow after the Beast of Revelation with the conduct expected by the teachings of Islam. After all, logic only dictates that if the seals describe the rise (and subsequent fall) of an Islamic Beast, then Muslim teachings would need to necessitate that those who follow the “prophet” of Islam therefore engage in precisely the sort of key behaviors typified by the Beast’s followers we read in Revelation.
Some news reports are talking about the possibility that this was the work of Islamists.
Update 1: NRK has reported that an Islamist group calling itself ‘Helpers of the Global Jihad’ have now posted a message stating that this is only the beginning of the reaction to Norwegian papers publishing cartoons of Mohammed …
Update 2: Islamist group ‘Helpers of the Global Jihad’ are now denying any involvement in today’s attack. So far there does not appear to be any solid Islamist connection. Suspect may have acted alone. No word yet on motive or how he could have single-handedly produced such a powerful explosion if this was all perpetrated by a single homegrown terrorist.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg’s office, killing at least one person and injuring several others.
Norwegian broadcaster NRK said one person was confirmed dead in the explosion.
The cause of the blast was unknown but the tangled wreckage of a car was outside one building and the damage appeared consistent to witnesses with that from car bombs. Police and fire officials declined comment on the cause.
The blast blew out most windows on the 17-story building housing Stoltenberg’s office, as well as nearby ministries including the oil ministry, which was on fire.
Heavy debris littered the streets and a tall plume of brown smoke over the city center.
A Reuters correspondent counted at least eight injured people. Norwegian news agency NTB said that Stoltenberg was safe in the blast, which happened around 3:30 p.m. (1330 GMT).” Read more.
The death toll has now risen to 12. If it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, acts like a duck …
An official said the blast was a terrorist act.
President Alexander Lukashenko did not say what caused the explosion at the Oktyabrskaya subway station, but suggested outside forces could be behind it.
‘I do not rule out that this gift could have been brought from outside,’ Lukashenko said. The authoritarian leader, under strong pressure from the West over his suppression of the opposition, has frequently alleged outside forces seek to destabilise his regime.
Deputy prosecutor-general Andrei Shved said the blast was a terrorist act, but did not give further details.” Read more.
