IPT News – “The charitable wing of a major American Muslim organization is promoting donations to extremist causes, undercutting a nationwide campaign to improve its image. The website link from the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Relief division hints at deeper connections to extremism and terror, both by the charitable branch and by its parent organization.

ICNA’s self-proclaimed goal is ‘to communicate the message of Islam to the society at large’ and ‘also to initiate change in the social and political spheres [of American society] in light of the principles of the noble Qur’an,’ according to the group’s 2020 Vision program.

‘The future of Dawah [proselytizing] in this society is directly linked with the ability of ICNA’s membership to communicate the message of Islam to the society at large,’ it explains. Over time, the group encourages ‘moving to the next level of Dawah, aimed towards the movers and shakers of the society.’

As that program outlines, that goal means more engagement with non-Muslims to promote Islam. ICNA is in the midst of a pro-Sharia campaign, which explains that Islamic law isn’t something threatening to American society or order.

A long history of extremism stands in the way. ICNA’s magazine, conferences, and ideology have promoted violent jihad and supremacy rhetoric for decades, and continue to emphasize Islam as a civilization alternative to secular society.

The group’s 2010 Member’s Hand Book illustrated how further acceptance of Islam would lead to an Islamic state in America and then to a global Caliphate. ‘With this work of propagation of Islam, social reform, and the truth is introduced to a large part of the society. A good part of the society’s thinking individuals join the movement. Then it may move to establish an Islamic society, obedient to Allah’s commands,’ the hand book states.

To change beliefs about Islam and to further ICNA’s role in promoting it, the 2020 plan emphasizes social justice and charity issues. But the discovery of more extremist content on ICNA Relief’s website shows that although the group has initiated a new public image, an ideology of extremism prevails just under the surface.” Read more.

On January 26, 2012, Muslim terrorist-turned-Christian Kamal Saleem was addressing an assembly in the auditorium at Allegan High School. The event was an effort to extol the virtues of the U.S. Constitution and ‘American Laws for American Courts.’ Saleem discussed the effort by State Rep. David Agema (R) to pass HB 4769, or the ‘Restriction of Application of Foreign Laws Act,’ which bans the use of foreign laws in the state.

Erin Mersino is trial counsel at the Thomas More Law Center (TMLC). Despite the fact that no one in the audience protested the speech, she says Allegan police interrupted Saleem’s presentation and ordered that the event be shut down.

‘They were supposed to be acting as security,’ Mersino reports. ‘However, on the day of the event, after the high school received this letter from CAIR saying that they should not allow Kamal Saleem to speak, then all of a sudden the event is shut down.’

She contends that the Council on American-Islamic Relations cannot just step in and use its bullying power to silence someone else’s free-speech rights.

‘They are using their power to step in and say, ‘Don’t allow this person to speak. They don’t have views that are similar to ours, so they must be silenced,” the attorney argues. ‘And how did the school district react? To comply with CAIR’s wishes.'” Read more.

By AARON KLEIN, WND – “The official Twitter account for the English website of the Muslim Brotherhood today endorsed a Twitter post by Dalia Mogahed, a member of Barack Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

Referring to Obama’s White House Correspondents Dinner speech yesterday, Mogahed tweeted: ‘Was great President Obama recognized Anthony Shadid tonight.’

Shadid was a Pulitzer Prize-winning foreign correspondent for The New York Times who died in February of an apparent asthma attack while covering the uprising in Syria.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s Twitter account, @ikhwanweb, retweeted Mogahed’s post and says in its profile that such retweets mean official endorsements of the subject matter.

Reads the profile: ‘Ikhwanweb is the only official Muslim Brotherhood’s English website. Our Tweets represent the official opinions of the Muslim Brotherhood. RTs = endorsements.’…

WND first exposed Mogahed’s radical Islamic ties, including how she was a partner in an Islamic project whose stated goal was to ‘define, interpret and implement the concept of the Islamic State in modern times.’

The project was founded and directed by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the controversial Muslim cleric behind the 13-story, $100 million Islamic cultural center and mosque being built two blocks from Ground Zero in New York City.

Together with Rauf, Mogahed was a leading voice in the Leadership Group on U.S.-Muslim Engagement, which issued a 153-page recommendation paper, obtained and reviewed by WND, that calls for dialogue with Hamas.

The consensus focused on improving America’s relationship with Muslims globally, with many of the recommendations later reportedly being adopted by the Obama administration.” Read more.

The funding for these revisions comes largely from Saudi Arabia, where Arab petro-dollars have frequently been granted to pro-Islamist efforts. ACT for America explains:

Islamist revisionism in U.S. textbooks can be traced back to Saudi money and it is not a new phenomenon. Late in 1974, a state-of-the-art, well-funded Saudi-financed plan was undertaken by Arab states to seize hold of American public opinion and increase their influence over U.S. foreign policy. A central aspect of this plan was a rewrite of 20th century Middle Eastern history with the specific intent of altering American public opinion and policies pertaining to Israel. By the early 1990s, this effort to rewrite history was working its way backward in time to the 7th century and the founding of Islam. The reason for this was that revisionists realized that the imperialistic, violent and anti-Semitic history of Islam would undermine the narrative that Israel and the Jews have been the aggressors in the Middle East and Arab Muslims have been the victims.

Federal Judge, Senate Rules Committee Sides With Islamist Organization CAIR, Kills Bill Banning Sharia Law In Oklahoma

By Homa Quazilbash – “Oklahoma City – The measure banning Sharia law in Oklahoma courts passed by Oklahoma voters in 2010 was shot down by a senate committee Thursday.

That move prompted responses by the bill’s author and the group who filed a lawsuit against it.

State Question 755 banned the consideration of Islamic Sharia law, derived from the Quran, when deciding Oklahoma court cases.

It passed with 70 percent of the vote in November 2010, so then came House Bill 1552, by State Rep. Sally Kern.

That bill passed the Oklahoma House of Representatives on a bipartisan 76-3 vote on its third reading in March 2011.

During a hearing this week, members of the Senate Rules Committee voted 6-9 against the measure.

A lawsuit against the measure was filed soon after by the Council on American-Islamic Relations in federal court because many Muslims felt it was a way to politically bash the group.

A federal judge sided with the group in November of last year, issuing a preliminary injunction that kept it from becoming law.

On Thursday, Kern said she was shocked by the committee’s failure to pass the bill.” Read more.

An organization called ACT for America conducted an analysis of 38 textbooks used in the sixth- through 12th-grades in public schools, and found that since the 1990s, discussions of Islam are taking up more and more pages, while the space devoted to Judaism and Christianity has simultaneously decreased. In 2011, the National Assessment of Educational Progress reported that American 12th graders scored lower in history than in any other subject, even lower than in science, math and economics.

Most of these students are too young to remember 9/11, so current textbook descriptions about 9/11 is all they will learn. In one textbook example of pro-Islamic revisionism, 9/11 is portrayed as ‘a horrible act of terrorism, or violence to further a cause,’ without any mention that the attackers were Muslims or that the ’cause’ was Islamic jihad.

The textbooks generally give a false description of women’s rights under Islam. The books don’t reveal that women are subject to polygamy, a husband’s legal right to beat her, genital mutilation, and the scandalous practice misnamed ‘honor killings,’ which allows a man to murder a daughter who dares to date a Christian.

‘Education’ in America: Children Now Being Taught an Alternate, Sanitized Version of September 11, 2011

By Drew Zahn – “Who perpetrated the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 – a group of men merely fighting ‘for a cause,’ or a band of radical Muslims bent on violent jihad?

According to a new, comprehensive study of 6th-12th grade textbooks used by schools across the country, America’s children are being taught a very different answer to that question than many alive to witness 9/11 remember.

The non-profit organization ACT! for America Education studied 38 textbooks from popular publishers like McGraw Hill and Houghton Mifflin, for example, to determine whether American schoolchildren are being taught the truth about Islam and its role in 9/11.

The report, titled ‘Education or Indoctrination? The Treatment of Islam in 6th through 12th Grade American Textbooks,’ compares what it found in the textbooks with 275 historical sources, listing 375 footnoted citations, to conclude that America’s textbooks are laced with ‘historical revisionism.’

‘This report shines a bright light on a pattern of errors, omissions and bias in the textbooks reviewed,’ explained ACT! for America Education founder Brigitte Gabriel in an email. ‘To give you just one example of the errors our research uncovered, in discussing the 9/11 attacks, the textbooks typically fail to mention the perpetrators were Muslims or that they acted in the cause of Islamic jihad. In one book the terrorists are portrayed as people fighting for a cause.

‘In just a few years after Sept. 11,’ she continues, ‘the history of what happened on that tragic day was rewritten in our school textbooks. Omitting this vital information, that jihad was the motivation for the attacks, makes it difficult, if not impossible, for today’s young teens, who don’t remember 9/11, to really understand what happened that day – and why.’

According to the executive summary of the report, ‘The full report reveals a pattern of historical revisionism, omissions and bias in the presentation of all aspects devoted to Islam in these textbooks. These aspects include its theology and doctrines, its role as a world religion, its ongoing struggle with Western tradition and its intrinsic anti-Semitism.’

The summary continues, ‘Textbook errors identified in the report range from egregiously false historical statements to significant omissions and subtle half-truths. Some are blatant and obvious, others are subtle and deceptive. The errors in these textbooks are not grammatical or typographical. They are substantive, significant and often repetitive.’

Poll: Majority of Mississippi’s Likely GOP Voters Believe Barack Obama is a Muslim

Seems like many in the “Magnolia state” believe that there’s a “rotten apple” in the White House. Public Policy Polling released the results of a recent poll on Monday revealing that a majority of likely GOP voters in Mississippi believe that President Barack Obama is a Muslim. When Republicans in Alabama were asked, “Do you think Barack Obama is a Christian or a Muslim, or are you not sure?” 45% answered “Muslim,” 41% answered “not sure,” and only 14% selected “Christian.”  In Mississippi, a full 52% believed Obama was “Muslim,” 36% selected “not sure,” and just 12% believed he was “Christian.”

It is no secret that Obama has repeatedly claimed to be a Christian.  But a quick review of his behavior and policies during his first term as President is leading many to believe that he is behaving more like the adherent of another faith, as one who appears to despise acknowledging the Judeo-Christian God yet seems to have little issue with the god of Islam, exemplified by the fact that he has pandered to Islam in his willingness to flood America with Muslim immigrants while largely ignoring Christians seeking asylum and fleeing Muslim persecution. He placates to Islamists and Sharia Law, which has done absolutely nothing to advance peace or security. In fact, terrorism in America has increased under Obama’s “leadership”, yet he seems to think that it’ll go away if he pretends it doesn’t exist.

This behavior corresponds with why he has treated Israel – the only true democracy and proven ally in the Middle East – more like an enemy while treating Israel’s enemies more like a friend. He has bowed down to the king of Saudi Arabia, a nation whose religious textbooks continue to fuel anti-Semitism, hatred and terrorism around the world. He continues to support 

Free Speech vs. Islamists: Why the West Is Losing

“Recently, Salman Rushdie did not attend a literature festival in India after Indian authorities warned him he was a potential target of assassins, and after numerous protests by various Islamist groups. This is not the first time that Mr. Rushdie found himself at odds with Islamists over his free speech. In 1988, he published his book The Satanic Verses, whose ‘blasphemous writings’ first resulted in death threats to Mr. Rushdie from Islamists — including a fatwa against him by Ayatollah Khomeini — and first alerted the world to the problems Islamists had with free speech concerning Islam-related topics.

After initially trying to apologize to appease his Islamist censors, Rushdie was forced to go underground under protective detail. In 2012, almost a quarter of a century from when he first found himself enmeshed in the struggle for free speech, Mr. Rushdie faced a similar threat and once again was forced to back down.

Unfortunately, the Rushdie example is all too representative of how things are going in the Western struggle to protect speech from Islamist thugs. In other words, not well. Things are probably getting worse.

Back in 1989, most in the Western world were still shocked by the threat against Rushdie, and after some hemming and hawing eventually came out in support of his right to say what he wanted to say about his own, lapsed religion. Today, virtually no one seems to notice or care when Rushdie is once again threatened for his speech. That is because today, Islamist death threats made against persons who speak about Islam-related topics are so commonplace (recall  South Park, Charlie Hebdo, and David Letterman). The world is so accustomed to placing the blame on the speakers that there really isn’t much to get indignant about.

CAIR representatives asked that lawmakers:

• Re-examine the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 and repeal the law’s indefinite detention provisions.
• Support and co-sponsor the End Racial Profiling Act of 2011.
• Sign on to a letter requesting that the Department of Justice revise its 2003 policy guidance on racial profiling. CAIR and the ACLU say the current guidelines contain loopholes allowing federal law enforcement agencies to profile at U.S. borders and for reasons of national security.” Source – Sunshine State News.
