“Prepare!”: Muslim Brotherhood Declares “Long, Uncompromising Jihad” In Egypt After Meeting With US State Department

By Adam Kredo, The Washington Free Beacon – “The Muslim Brotherhood called for ‘a long, uncompromising jihad’ in Egypt just days after a delegation of the Islamist group’s key leaders and allies met with the State Department, according to an official statement released this week.

Just days after a delegation that included two top Brotherhood leaders was hosted at the State Department, the organization released an official statement calling on its supporters to ‘prepare’ for jihad, according to an independent translation of the statement first posted on Tuesday.

The State Department meeting was attended by a deputy assistant secretary for democracy, human rights, and labor and other State Department officials.

The Muslim Brotherhood statement also was issued just two days before a major terror attackThursday in Egypt’s lawless Sinai region that killed at least 25.

‘It is incumbent upon everyone to be aware that we are in the process of a new phase, where we summon what is latent in our strength, where we recall the meanings of jihad and prepare ourselves, our wives, our sons, our daughters, and whoever marched on our path to a long, uncompromising jihad, and during this stage we ask for martyrdom,’ it states.

Preparation for jihad is a key theme of the Brotherhood’s latest call for jihad.

An image posted with the statement shows two crossing swords and the word ‘prepare!’ between them. Below the swords it reads, ‘the voice of truth, strength, and freedom.’ According to the statement, ‘that is the motto of the Dawa of the Muslim Brotherhood.’

The statement also invokes the well-known Muslim cleric Imam al-Bana, who founded the Brotherhood and has called for the death of Jews.

‘Imam al-Bana prepared the jihad brigades that he sent to Palestine to kill the Zionist usurpers and the second [Supreme] Guide Hassan al-Hudaybi reconstructed the ‘secret apparatus’ to bleed the British occupiers,’ the statement says.

The Brotherhood’s renewed call for jihad comes at a time when current Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is cracking down on the group and imprisoning many of its supporters, who notoriously engaged in violence following the ouster of Brotherhood-ally Mohamed Morsi.” Read more.

Don’t be surprised if the authorities disassociate a murderer shouting “pro-Islamic slogans” while killing someone from Islam. Islamic teachings, it seems, have nothing to do with Islam. By Oliver Lane, Breitbart – “The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) are appealing for witnesses after they arrested a 32-year old Somalian man on suspicion of murder in Belfast yesterday.

Although little is presently known of the victim, 29 year old Pakistani national Mohsin Bhatti, his surname is common among Sikh and Hindi families in the Pakistani borders and Punjab region of Northern India. The Belfast Telegraph reports his killer shouted ‘pro-Islamic slogans’ [while] Bhatti was stabbed to death, but police said they were not treating the killing as a ‘hate crime’.

A PSNI spokesman said: ‘The victim had been stabbed a number of times and he died at the scene as a result of his injuries. We are following a number of lines of enquiry but we are keeping an open mind about a possible motive.

‘We have recovered two knives from the scene. These are currently being examined as part of the investigation. A second scene has been established in a flat at 18 India Street, a short distance from where the victim was found’.

By Damien Gayle, Mail Online – “There were incredible scenes on Dutch TV tonight after a teenage gunman stormed the studios of the national broadcaster and demanded to be put on air.

NOS went off air for an hour after the smartly dressed suspect, who was carrying a silenced pistol, seized control of the studio.

But cameras continued to roll, recording the moment police rushed into to disarm him…

Police said in a statement that the man demanded airtime and threatened that bombs would go off at several locations around the Netherlands if his demand was not met.

Wearing a black suit and tie, the man entered the studio after threatening a guard with a pistol, witnesses said. It was unclear how he passed through security, which was increased after the attacks in Paris earlier this month.

… cameras were recording as he paced back and forth in front of them. Speaking to a man off camera, the suspect said: ‘The things that are going to be said (pause) those are very large world affairs…

The teenager – who has been named in Dutch media as Tarik Zahzah – lives in the central Dutch town of Pijnacker, near the university town Delft, officials said, declining to provide details…

Police special forces swept the building for explosives and found nothing, police spokesman Christine Scholts said.

‘We are currently investigating who this man is and what he wants,’ she said. The police were looking into claims that he had accomplices around the country with explosives.

‘He took the security guard hostage and said he wanted air time. If they didn’t give it to him, he said there would be bombs in different places in the Netherlands that would explode if he didn’t get time on TV,’ Ms Scholts said…

The threats were reportedly also contained in a letter that the man took to the studio, a purported copy of which was aired by the RTL news channel.

‘Realise that I am not on my own,’ it said. ‘Furthermore, eight high explosives have been planted that contain radioactive material.'” Read more.
