Canada: RCMP Issues Warning To Police And Military After ISIS Issues New Threat

Sun News – “The RCMP is warning both police and military to keep an eye out for terrorists following a threat from ISIS, QMI Agency has learned.

The notice went out Monday. Police and military were told to exercise vigilance and caution upon starting their shifts this week.

Several police forces, including those in Montreal and Quebec City, confirmed the RCMP advisory.

Montreal police sources tell QMI that its force held top-level meetings with the RCMP this week.

The RCMP warning is specifically aimed at police on solo patrols, who have been deemed to be at greatest risk.

Quebec’s Public Security minister, Lise Theriault, said the RCMP advisory follows an earlier threat from ISIS.

In September, ISIS spokesman Muhammad Al-Adnani called on followers to kill Canadians and others by various means including to ‘slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car.’

Theriault told QMI that citizens, as well as police, need to keep their eyes open for threats.

‘I think that vigilance will always be appropriate,’ she said. The minister urged citizens to call police if they believe someone has become radicalized or if they see violent Internet postings.

Two Canadian soldiers were killed by homegrown extremists last week.

Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was shot in the back and killed Oct. 22 while guarding the National War Memorial across from Parliament Hill.

Two days earlier, Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent was run over by a car and killed, while another soldier was injured, near a recruiting office in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.” Source – Sun News.

By Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch – “Abdunnur punched an officer in the face after he was stopped — a detail that is for some reason left out of this Ottawa Citizen report. In any case, all the reports on this incident are cryptic in one way or another. This one brings up the fact that authorities are monitoring Muslims who have expressed intentions to join the Islamic State, but then says that it isn’t known if Andunnur was one of them or not. But in any case, the traffic stop was part of a national security investigation, and clearly, for whatever reason, Abdunnur didn’t want to be stopped.

A chaotic Ottawa police traffic stop on Bank Street in which a plainclothes Ontario Provincial Police officer fired a single shot at a man was part of an RCMP national security investigation, the Citizen has learned.

The RCMP’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) has been monitoring south Ottawa resident Luqman Abdunnur, 39, with the assistance of the OPP’s surveillance unit.

INSET officers have as their mandate to track and disrupt criminal behaviour of known terrorist groups or people who pose a threat to national security.

On Saturday, three days after Michael Zehaf-Bibeau gunned down Cpl. Nathan Cirillo at the National War Memorial before dying in a shootout on Parliament Hill, police decided to conduct a traffic stop of Abdunnur in Ottawa’s south end.

RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson said that on the day of the attack, the national force was monitoring people who expressed intentions to travel abroad and that Zehaf-Bibeau was not on the list of 93 people who had been identified.

Paulson also said that the RCMP hadn’t made arrests from that high-risk traveller list prior to the attack and it wasn’t the force’s intention to make arrests immediately following.

“Planned Genocide”: Dozens Of Christians Killed After Muslims In Nigeria Attack Two Churches In Taraba State

By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News – “On Oct. 19, armed Muslims stormed two churches in Taraba state and killed 31 Christians as they worshipped, according to Morning Star News.

Two pastors and 29 others were slain in the attacks in the villages of Gindin Waya and Sondi, said the Rev. Caleb Ahema, president of the Christian Reformed Church of Christ in Nigeria.

Ahema said the onslaught was the seventh attack on Christian communities in Wukari Local Government Area since February.

‘The attack on Christians in Taraba state is a planned genocide against Christians by Islamic insurgents who have invaded the southern part of the state — inhabited mostly by Christians — since February.’

Ahema said that the Muslims wore military uniforms and were members of the Islamist Boko Haram. Haram insurgents based in Borno state have reportedly encouraged ethnic Fulani Muslim herdsmen to attack Christians in Taraba and other states in order to impose Islamic law throughout Nigeria.

While Fulanis have had longstanding property disputes with Christian farmers, church leaders believe these latest attacks on their communities are part of a war by Islam to eliminate Christianity in their country.

‘This is the third time that the Muslims have attacked Christians on a Sunday,’ Ahema said. ‘The attack led to the death of four persons in Gindin Waya and 27 persons in Sondi. Among the dead is the pastor of the Sondi church, Nuhu Useni, and his only male child.’

Ahema appealed to the Nigerian government to stop the blood bath.

‘Muslims seem determined to wipe out Christians in this country. What is happening? How come Christians have been attacked seven times now, and it seems as if the country has no good security intelligence gathering network?’

Islamic insurgents killed 1,631 Christians in Nigeria during the first six months of 2014. Last year, 1,783 Nigerian Christians were also killed for their faith. The increase in Christian deaths this year accompanies an increase in the total number of people killed by Boko Haram.

While Boko Haram is the moniker residents of Borno state gave the insurgents, the Islamist group calls itself the ‘Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad’ or ‘The Congregation of the People of Tradition for Proselytism and Jihad.’ The U.S. finally designated Haram as a Foreign Terrorist Organization late last year.” Source – Worthy News.

In a video published by ShamToday on October 26, the media wing associated with the predominantly Chechen Islamic State (IS) faction Katibat Al-Aqsa, a Chechen militant named Musa Abu-Yusuf Shishani calls on the Chechen diaspora to join IS.

The video, in Chechen, was shared on several pro-Islamic-State Russian-language social media accounts on October 26 and offers insights into the attitudes of Chechen IS militants who are on the frontline in Kobani. (It was removed by YouTube on October 27)

The speaker in the video, Musa Abu-Yusuf, is filmed in front of a burned-out car and claims he is in Kobani.

Musa Abu-Yusuf says that IS militants are defending not only against attacks from the Kurds, but also from the entire world, who have ‘suddenly started to defend the Kurds.’

He calls on all Chechens in Europe ‘not to look for reasons not to come [to Syria], you are obliged to come, and kill everyone.’

‘There are no civilians,’ Musa Abu-Yusuf adds. ‘Kill them all wherever they are, that is, in Europe itself. Kill just one Frenchman, one American, then they will rise up. Kill them all, wherever they are. In Europe.’

There is a large Chechen diaspora in Europe, many of them refugees from the First and Second Chechen Wars. According to the Jamestown Foundation, there may be as many as 30,000 Chechens in France, 25,000 in Austria and 17,000 in Belgium. There is also a large Chechen diaspora in Turkey, including representatives from the North Caucasian militant group, the Caucasus Emirate. While exact numbers are not known, some of the Chechen fighters in Syria have come from the Chechen diaspora.” Read more.
