Dursun’s father was of Turkish descent, and his mother, of Kurdish descent. Born in Turkey ‎in 1934, he was a former mufti and imam and an open critic of Islam who fought for a freer ‎and more humane world despite pressures from the state, the public, and even his own ‎father, whose dream was to see him become a devoted cleric.‎

Dursun was a prestigious mufti in the cities where he worked. His ‎progressiveness and hard work were often covered by the national media, and he sometimes ‎wrote columns for national newspapers, as well. He was frequently invited to official state ‎ceremonies and was respected by the public. He regularly visited villages to observe their ‎problems, and tried to offer solutions.‎

Because Dursun received his education in madrassas (Muslim theological schools) and knew Arabic ‎well, he had a comprehensive knowledge of Islam’s original source documents — the Quran, ‎hadith, biographies and histories. And he had something of crucial importance that most ‎Muslim scholars lack: a critical mind.‎

The Islamic religious texts did not satisfy the depths of his mind. He had an incredible passion ‎for learning. Aside from his native languages, Turkish and Kurdish, he learned Arabic, ‎Circassian, and some French. He had a strong interest in Greek philosophy, as well, and read ‎Aristotle’s works when he was just 12. ‎

‎”’Knowledge is accumulated in your mind to a point, and then a spark is emitted. But if [your ‎religion or ideology] is so deeply rooted in your culture and conscious, it is hard to certainly ‎face up to and distance yourself from it. I always had a nature that revolted against the ‎concept of God and my disengagement from Islam took place in an evolutionary phase. I had ‎always argued with God. Then I repented. I thought, for example, that if the Quran is the word ‎of God, then why does it permit slavery? Why does it tell some people that it is OK if they are ‎slaves? I thought that if [the Quran’s author] was really Allah, he should have abolished ‎slavery and that he should not have declared some people slaves and others free. But then I ‎immediately abjured. I had always been in a state of rebellion since my childhood,’ Dursun ‎said in an interview.‎

But his main estrangement from Islam happened when he compared the Quran with other ‎religious books. ‎

By Lev Selmon, The Jerusalem Post – “The organization calling itself the Islamic State has risen from the fog of war in Syria and Iraq in recent months and drawn the attention of the world with major victories on both sides of the Euphrates River that have claimed swaths of territory for its declared caliphate, or Islamic State.

Now in the organization’s new English language publication, Dabiq, aimed at young Muslims in western states, the extremist organization declared, ‘Islamic State will do everything within its means to continue striking down every apostate who stands as an obstacle on its path towards Palestine.’

Denouncing the ineffectiveness of other Arab states and organizations in carrying out the ‘will of Allah,’ the magazine vows that, ‘Its [Islamic State’s] actions speak louder than its words and it is only a matter of time and patience before it reaches Palestine to fight the barbaric Jews and kill those of them hiding behind the gharqad trees – the trees of the jews.’

The Islamic State recently brought attention to the large and growing number of westerners in its ranks with the video of American journalist James Foley’s execution, at the hands of a masked IS militant speaking English in a British accent.

The shocking video and revelation that the American hostage’s killer might be a British citizen turned jihadist led a man hunt to identify the man. Assessments by Britain’s two intelligence and security agencies led to the positive identification of  23-year-old British-born Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, nicknamed ‘Jihadi John’ by his colleagues.

Western countries are well aware of the issue. ‘I don’t think this video changes anything. It just heightens awareness of a situation which is very grave and which we’ve been working on for several months.’ British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammondtold the BBC.

Now the Islamic State is producing a slick new magazine in English which caters to potential recruits around the world to answer the ‘call to Hijrah,’ migration to the Islamic State.

Converted To Islam, Fell In Love With Death

By Stewart Bell, Leader-Post – “Al-Qaida members who have crossed into Syria from Afghanistan and Pakistan are training extremists to conduct attacks in western countries, the government said Friday in a report on the terrorist threats to Canada.

Calling the development a ‘major concern,’ the Public Safety Canada report said Syria had become a safe haven and training ground for terrorists. ‘This may enhance their ability to attack neighbouring countries or Western interests.’

‘It said al-Qaida had been helping Jabhat al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham and the Islamic State group. ‘These al-Qaida members also train other extremists for possible operations in Western countries.’

The report highlighted a troubling consequence of the prolonged civil war in Syria and its spread to Iraq: that the region has replaced Afghanistan and Pakistan as the playground for the world’s most violent, fanatical terrorists.

The release of the 2014 Public Report on the Terrorist Threat to Canada came as the United Kingdom raised its threat level from Substantial to Severe, citing ‘developments in Syria and Iraq where terrorist groups are planning attacks against the West.’

While the report did not say whether any Canadians were being trained for such attacks, it said the government was aware of about 130 ‘individuals with Canadian connections’ who were involved in terrorist activity, including about 30 in Syria. Some may pose a threat should they come home to Canada, it said.

‘They may return to Canada or other countries imbued with knowledge, skills and experience gained in terrorist operations and training camps,’ the report said. ‘It is possible some returnees could plan and carry out terrorist attacks in Canada.’

A former University of Ottawa business student named John Maguire is under RCMP investigation after leaving for Syria last year. In his online posts, the recent Muslim convert called Canada ‘evil’ and said Christians had to convert or ‘face the sword.'” Read more.

By Brownie Marie, Christian Today – “It was revealed this week that Nigerian terrorist group Boko Haram beheaded a six-year-old boy on June 1 because he was a Christian.

The attack occurred in Attagara, Gwoza district, Borno State – a predominately Christian community, according to Voice of the Martyrs.

Over 100 militants descended upon the village, slaughtering men, women, and children.

Boko Haram has kidnapped and killed Christians and Shiite Muslims across Borno and Yobe States in an increasingly deadly campaign to establish an extremist, Sunni Muslim reign.

The assault on Attagara occurred as Sunday church services were beginning, according to Voice of the Martyrs (VOM). Boko Haram slashed the villagers with machetes, and fired upon them with assault weapons.

One villager, Sawaltha Wandala, was arriving at church for the second service when he saw children being massacred. One six-year-old boy had been slashed and thrown into a ditch, but he was alive. Wandala picked him up and was carrying him to a hospital in Cameroon, when he was stopped by five of the militants.

The men reportedly took the child from Wandala’s arms and beheaded him, then began beating the 55-year-old with tree branches. After striking him in the head with a rock, they left him for dead.

Two days later the militants returned, attacking Attagara and other villages in Gwoza. VOM reported that approximately 200 people were killed in the two-day assaults.

John Yakuba and his family survived the Attagara attacks and fled to Cameroon, but Yakuba returned to their home to retrieve their animals and some of their belongings. The family faced starvation at a refugee camp, and Yakuba hoped to sell the animals to support them.

Boko Haram members saw Yakuba entering his home, however, and captured him.

‘We know you’re John,’ they said to him, according to VOM. ‘You must convert to Islam or else you will die a painful death.’

When Yakuba refused to denounce Christ, they tied his arms and legs to a tree, and hacked his hands with a knife.

‘Can you become a Muslim now?’ the militants asked.

‘You can kill my body, but not my soul,’ Yakubu cried out.

The 27 year-old, who was born and raised in Denmark says The Islamic State, who was previously known as ISIS, ‘has become very international and Denmark is high up on the list, believe me,’ speaking to the Danish broadsheet newspaper, Politiken.

‘Denmark is not my country. The Muslims’ country is the caliphate and inshallah there will soon be an attack here. Denmark should prepare itself,’ the militant added as cited by The Local.

‘It is an open war now. ISIS has said that all infidels should be battled. They should be eliminated and soon it will be Denmark’s turn,’ OA continued.

The Danish born jihadist fought in Syria for Islamic State (IS), before returning back to Denmark, a country who he feels no affiliation for. Although he admits that IS is mainly concentrating its efforts in Syria and Iraq at the moment, things could change in the future.

‘My battle lies in Syria. But you never know, brother. The prophet said that Allah showed him the eastern and western parts of the world and that they should be united in a caliphate. So Denmark might get its turn soon,’ he said.

The news comes just days after Denmark stated it would contribute to the international campaign against IS in northern Iraq, with the EU nation saying it would deliver weapons and ammunition to Kurdish and Iraq government forces in the area.” Read more.

The church, in an electronic press statement by the Director, Catholic Social Communications in-charge of the Maiduguri Diocese, Rev. Fr. Gideon Obasogie, said though the members of the outlawed sHe lamented that ‘Christians in the town are really in a terrible situation; a moment of great persecution. The town also has a good number of Muslims, he said, stressing that ‘the whole town and the parish rectory have been occupied by the terrorists, so many structures and items have been vandalised. Dozens have been killed and a lot of church structures have been burnt down’.

He lamented that ‘Christians in the town are really in a terrible situation; a moment of great persecution. Christian men are caught and beheaded, while Christian women are forced to become Muslims and are taken as wives to the terrorists.

‘The houses of Christians that have fled are now occupied by the terrorists; their cars are used by the terrorists.  Some Muslims around identify Christian homes to be occupied and the Christians hiding were also exposed and they were killed.

From the advent of Islam, it is the brutality that was used to conquer. But what is more important is not who did it, but what drives them to do it. That is the point lost in the struggle between Muslims and other communities. A Muslim child is raised with Koranic verses such as below from childhood and Prophet as the model. What does child assimilate when he was told the hate speech such as a Kafir is same as Urine, Feces, Semen, Dead Body, Blood, Dog, Pig, sweat of an animal who eats impure (najis) and alcoholic beverages. This is recited as sacred verse. When people say that is a matter of interpretation, how much is there to interpret here and Mosques themselves are not making it a secret. In the pictures below, when you see ISIS slaughtering a Christian Kid or stripping a Christian woman naked and beheading her, they are doing what is preached, that a Kafir is same as animal that can be slaughtered. There is a Hindu Kush (Hindu slaughter) mountains in now Afghanistan and Pakistan region where just on one day they headed 100,000 Hindus. But that is history and why we worry. Because it is repeating again and again and we live in our own world, rather not see to it. On Direct Action Day in 1946 hundreds of thousands were slaughtered that resulted in one million people killed and many beheaded and paraded in the streets like today. Most of the reduction of Hindus/Sikhs from 25% to 1.8% in Pakistan happened in the first few months. This is not to say there were no retaliations and in places like Calcutta Muslims were slaughtered after Hindus realized they could go to East Pakistan if they kept quiet. Locust Swarm “Like The Plagues Of Egypt” Descends Upon Madagascar’s Capital
