Sudanese Salafi Group Endorses Islamic State’s New Caliphate

From Africa to Indonesia, support for ISIS is growing. This is good news for the Islamic Caliphate, bad news for everybody else …

Islamic Scholar Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi: “Islam wishes to destroy all States and Governments anywhere on the face of the earth which are opposed to the ideology and programme of Islam regardless of the country or the Nation that rules it. Islam requires the earth – not just a portion – but the whole planet.”

Reuters – “A Sudanese Salafi group in a statement on Thursday endorsed the Islamic State militant group that declared a caliphate after it swept through northern Iraq last month.

‘Our Brothers in the Islamic State … announcing an inclusive caliphate is a good job,’ said Sudan’s Al-Attasam belKetab wa al-Sunna, which broke from Sudan’s Muslim Brotherhood in 1991 to establish a stricter Islamist movement.

‘We announce our support to this blessed step,’ added the Salafi group, which had called for a boycott of 2010 presidential and parliamentary elections because they were based on a secular constitution.

Sudan has been led for 25 years by President Omar Hassan al-Bashir, who came to power by a coup orchestrated by senior Muslim Brotherhood members. They later abandoned him and called for more reforms and freedoms.

More than half a million Iraqis have been displaced across the country since June 10, when the north’s biggest city, Mosul, fell to Sunni insurgents who have harried Iraq’s majority Shi’ite, Christians and other religious and ethnic minorities that have co-existed for hundreds of years.” Source – Reuters.

After the prayer, those present declared their public support for ISIS, claiming to be ready to go to Iraq and Syria.” Read more.

Flashback: ‘May Allah Protect You’: Leader Of Boko Haram In Nigeria Voices Support For ISIS Caliphate – “The head of Nigeria’s Boko Haram Islamists has voiced support for the extremist Sunni Islamic State (IS) militants who have taken over large swathes of territory in Iraq and Syria, in a video obtained by Agence France Presse Sunday… Near the beginning of the video he calls several of the world’s most prominent Islamist extremists his ‘brethren.’ ‘May Allah protect you’ he said, listing IS chief, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, al-Qaida head Ayman al-Zawahiri, Taliban leader Mullah Omar and several others.” Read more.

Flashback: Taliban-Linked Terror Organization In Pakistan Pledges Allegiance To New ISIS Caliphate – “A terrorist organisation claiming responsibility for a number of attacks in Pakistan has apparently become the first foreign extremist group to pledge their allegiance to the Islamic State currently wreaking havoc across Syria and Iraq. Tehreek-e-Khilafat has declared it will raise the flag of the Islamic State – formerly known as ISIS – above south Asia and Khurusan, an historical Islamic region comprising parts of Afghanistan, Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The move will be seen to bolster Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State …” Read more.
