For peaceful purposes …

Qur’an Sura 48:29, “Mohammed is [Allah’s] apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another.”

By  Oluwole Ige – Osogbo, Nigerian Tribune – “There was confusion in the ancient town of Ejigbo in Osun State, on Monday, as the principal and some teachers of Baptist High School were beaten to a state of coma.

The incident, which occurred around 8.00 a.m, heightened tension in the town as many were apprehensive that the crisis might snowball into a clash between Christians and Muslims in the town.

Trouble ensued when some unknown persons  invaded the office of the principal, identified as Mr Layi Oguntola, where they  made some enquiries and subsequently pounced on him, beating him to a pulp.

Our correspondent was informed that the school authorities had, last Friday, sent a female student home for allegedly using veil (hijab) while in the school, a development which infuriated some Muslims.

But Muslim youths in the town mobilised themselves and stormed the school to demand an apology from the school principal, and when he refused to grant their demand, he was malhandled.

Similarly, some teachers were also attacked by the irate youths with dangerous weapons, such as axes, cutlass and charms.

Worried by the incident, the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, Oba Omowonuola Oyesosin, was said to have intervened  and ordered that the principal and other affected teachers be moved to his palace to ensure their safety.

Baptist High School, Ejigbo, was a missionary school, but the school reclassification programme of the state government had affected its nomenclature, as students from other schools were merged with students of the school.

About two months ago, similar incident had occured at the Baptists Girls High School, Osogbo and Baptist High School, Iwo, where some Christians protested the merger policy, leading to chaos.” Source – Nigerian Tribune.

Nigeria: Islamists Slaughter Dozens Of Christians In Plauteau State

In the name of “Allah” the most gracious and merciful …

Romans 8:35-37, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, ‘For thy sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

Morning Star News – “Suspected Muslim herdsmen slaughtered 37 Christians in coordinated attacks on four Plateau state villages early this morning after Boko Haram terrorists killed at least 34 Christians in Borno state earlier this month, sources said.

In attacks on the four predominantly Christian villages that started at 1 a.m. in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area in Plateau State in central Nigeria, ethnic Fulani herdsmen killed 37 people, injured many others and destroyed homes, the military’s Special Task Force spokesman, Salisu Mustapha, said in a press statement.

‘The attackers killed 13 persons in Katu Kapang, eight in Daron, nine in Tul and seven others in Rawuru,’ he said.

Mustapha told Morning Star News by phone that the heavily-armed assailants were believed to be Muslim Fulani herdsmen. Soldiers were still trying to repel the attackers as he spoke.

The Miyetti Allah cattle-rearing association reportedly denied that Fulani herdsmen were responsible for attacking the villages.

Most mainstream media mentioned vague accusations of cattle theft or unsupported statements of political and land disputes as possible motivations for the attacks, although in recent months Muslim Fulani herdsmen have increased the unprovoked slaughter of unarmed Christians in their homes that has taken place for several years in Plateau state.

Christian leaders otherwise at a loss to explain the increase in attacks believe Islamic extremist groups are inciting Fulani Muslims to attack them in Plateau state as well as in Kaduna, Bauchi, Nasarawa and Benue states. They fear that the herdsmen, with backing from Islamic extremist groups, want to take over the predominantly Christian areas in order to acquire land for grazing, stockpile arms and expand Islamic territory. Hit-and-run, guerrilla-style attacks on Christian villages in which children are shot to death as they sleep support their suspicion that the assaults are motivated by desire to eliminate Christianity.” Read more.

Iran: White House Lying About Details Of Nuke Deal

11/26/2013 3 comments

Sometimes a crack leads to a crumble. According to Iranian officials, the Obama Administration either doesn’t understand the nuke deal they’ve been hammering away at for months or they’re intentionally lying about it to somehow make it appear less disastrous than it truly is. Trying to justify a “Nobel Peace Prize” after the fact will certainly prove itself to be one of the greatest historical mistakes of our generation …

By Adam Kredo, The Washington Free Beacon – “Iranian officials say that the White House is misleading the public about the details of an interim nuclear agreement reached over the weekend in Geneva.

Iran and Western nations including the United States came to an agreement on the framework for an interim deal late Saturday night in Geneva. The deal has yet to be implemented

The White House released a multi-page fact sheet containing details of the draft agreement shortly after the deal was announced.

However, Iranian foreign ministry official on Tuesday rejected the White House’s version of the deal as ‘invalid’ and accused Washington of releasing a factually inaccurate primer that misleads the American public.

‘What has been released by the website of the White House as a fact sheet is a one-sided interpretation of the agreed text in Geneva and some of the explanations and words in the sheet contradict the text of the Joint Plan of Action, and this fact sheet has unfortunately been translated and released in the name of the Geneva agreement by certain media, which is not true,’ Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham told the Iranian press on Tuesday.

Afkham and officials said that the White House has ‘modified’ key details of the deal and released their own version of the agreement.

Iran’s right to enrich uranium, the key component in a nuclear weapon, is fully recognized under the draft released by Tehran.

‘This comprehensive solution would enable Iran to fully enjoy its right to nuclear energy for peaceful purposes under the relevant articles of the NPT in conformity with its obligations therein,’ the agreement reads, according to a copy released to Iranian state-run media.

‘This comprehensive solution would involve a mutually defined enrichment programme with practical limits and transparency measures to ensure the peaceful nature of the programme,’ the Iranian draft reads. ‘This comprehensive solution would constitute an integrated whole where nothing is agreed until everything is agreed.’

Iran’s objection to the deal raises new concerns about final stage talks meant to ensure that the deal is implemented in the next few weeks.” Read more.

Seven Loopholes In Deal Favoring A Nuclear Iran – “The first preliminary nuclear deal the six world powers (US, Russia, China, UK, France and German) signed with Iran before dawn Sunday, Nov. 24, at the end of a four-day marathon, failed to address the most questionable aspects of Iran’s nuclear program, i.e. its clandestine military dimensions. The accord confined itself to aspects of uranium enrichment and stockpiles. UN inspections were expanded – but not applied, for instance, to Iran’s concealed nuclear sites – or even the Parchin military base where Iran is suspected of having tested nuclear-related explosions. Israel, the Gulf States and others are therefore highly dubious of the deal’s capacity for freezing Iran’s nuclear program where it stands today, least of all roll it back, as President Barack Obama claimed.” Read more.

Turkish-Egyptian Relations Continue To Deteriorate As Egypt Takes Aim At Brotherhood Allies

Daniel 11:40-43, “At the time of the end the king of the South will engage him in battle, and the king of the North will storm out against him with chariots and cavalry and a great fleet of ships. He will invade many countries and sweep through them like a flood. He will also invade the Beautiful Land. Many countries will fall … He will extend his power over many countries; Egypt will not escape. He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt, with the Libyans and Cushites in submission.”

By Sarah Benhaida, AFP – “Locked in a crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood since president Mohamed Morsi’s ouster, Egypt has launched a diplomatic offensive against the movement’s foreign backers armed with funds from its old foes.

In their first salvo soon after Morsi was toppled, the military-installed rulers took aim at Qatar — the only Gulf monarchy that openly supported the Brotherhood — by closing the Egyptian channel of Al-Jazeera television.

The authorities also detained some journalists working in Cairo for the Doha-based network.

In addition, officials said Cairo was willing to return to Qatar funds given to Egypt during the Morsi presidency.

But the main confrontation for the new authorities is a diplomatic one that has developed with Turkey.

On Sunday, Cairo expelled Ankara’s ambassador after Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the repression of Morsi’s supporters.

The tussle began soon after Egyptian security forces broke up two camps of Morsi supporters on August 14 in Cairo, in what was the bloodiest episode in Egypt’s modern history.

A day later both Cairo and Ankara recalled their respective ambassadors, but while Ankara later sent its envoy back to Egypt, Cairo’s ambassador to Turkey stayed at home.

On Sunday, the two countries went a step further by reducing their diplomatic ties to the level of charges d’affaires.

Karim Bitar, a Paris-based analyst, said the row stems from ‘increasing Egyptian nationalism and bitter regional setbacks for Turkey, including in Syria, which has seen it lose influence’ in the region.

For Shadi Hamid, research director at the Brookings Doha Center, ‘Egypt’s ruling military leaders are clearly not tolerating any backing to the Muslim Brotherhood, either inside the country or outside’.

‘Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE have provided billions in aid to Egypt which is giving it the degree of latitude’ in its diplomatic tactics …” Read more.

Flashback: Newsweek: Turkey Trumping Islam Over Democracy, Seeks To Become Major World Power – “In seeking to become a major world power, Turkey’s rapid shift towards an Islamist theocracy means we may soon see this ‘King of the North’ make a stand on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood, the former Islamist rulers in Egypt and Turkish ally. And having one of the largest militaries in the Muslim world isn’t good news for the Egyptian military’s ‘King of the South’ General Al-Sisi, nor for Israel …” Read more.

Radical Islamic Group Threatens More Attacks In China

11/26/2013 1 comment

For peaceful purposes …

The Miami Herald – “A radical Islamic group seeking independence for a northwestern Chinese region praised last month’s deadly attack in Beijing and warned of possible new terrorist strikes in the capital.

It wasn’t clear if the Turkistan Islamic Party was claiming it planned the Oct. 28 vehicle attack at Tiananmen Gate that killed two tourists and the three attackers. China had longed blamed TIP and its predecessor for extremist violence in the Xinjiang region, though many observers question whether the group is capable of organizing attacks and even whether it exists in an organized manner.

Following the video’s disclosure, China reasserted on Monday that it faces an organized threat.

In the 8 minute, 11 second video, the TIP’s purported head, Abdullah Mansour, called the attack a ‘jihadi operation’ and praised the assailants, who included a man, his wife and her mother, as Islamic warriors. He said future attacks could target the Great Hall of the People, China’s legislative seat.

‘Oh Chinese unbelievers, know that you have been fooling East Turkistan for the last 60 years, but now they have awakened. The people have learned who is the real enemy and they returned to their own religion. They learned the lesson,’ Mansour said. The video was posted on the Internet on Nov. 12 and picked up by the Washington-based SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadist websites.

East Turkistan is the name used for Xinjiang by some members of the region’s native Uighur ethnic group, extremists among which have for years been fighting a low-intensity insurgency against Chinese rule.” Read more.

Now The Twelfth Imam Can Come

11/26/2013 2 comments

“There is no requirement that non-Muslims must be responsible for that violence; Shi’ites filled with religious fervor, like the Ayatollah Khamenei and the mullahs behind him, could hasten the Twelfth Imam’s return and the consummation of all things by, say, launching a nuclear strike against Tel Aviv or some other Infidel outpost…”

By Robert Spencer, Frontpage Mag – “Among the many who decried the Obama Administration’s catastrophic capitulation to the nuclear ambitions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, none spelled out its potential consequences as trenchantly as Israel’s Economy Minister Naftali Bennett: ‘We awoke this morning to a new reality,’ he said Sunday. ‘A reality in which a bad deal was signed with Iran. A very bad deal. If a nuclear suitcase blows up five years from now in New York or Madrid, it will be because of the deal that was signed this morning.’

If that happens, it will also be because of the Shi’ite belief in the return of the Twelfth Imam. According to Islamic tradition, the dispute between the majority Sunnis and the Shiat Ali (Party of Ali) began upon the death of Muhammad in 632. The Sunnis contended that the prophet of Islam had made no provision for a successor as political, military, and spiritual leader of the Muslim community, and that therefore the Muslims should choose the best man among them as their leader. The nascent Party of Ali, on the contrary, claimed that Muhammad had designated his son-in-law Ali ibn Abi Talib as his successor, and that the successor of Muhammad had to be a member of the prophet’s household.

What’s more, far from being a mere functionary, this successor would bear some of Muhammad’s prophetic spirit, as well as infallibility in deciding disputed questions. Ali was finally chosen as the fourth caliph in 656, but in 661 was assassinated. Hassan, his eldest son (and successor, as far as the Shi’ites are concerned), was murdered in 670 on the orders of the Sunni caliph Muawiya. Then the Sunni/Shi’ite split became definitive and permanent when Ali’s younger son, Husayn, was killed in the Battle of Karbala in 680.

The Shi’ites were, thus, founded in loss and defeat, and these became the ongoing distinguishing features of Shi’ite history and piety. After the beheading of Husayn, the Shi’ites continued a succession of Imams, members of Muhammad’s household and his prophetic heirs. Each one in turn, over two centuries, was poisoned on orders of the Sunni caliph. According to the traditions of Twelver Shi’ism, the official religion of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the twelfth of these Imams, a boy of five years old, disappeared under mysterious and disputed circumstances in the year 874 – but remained alive. After his disappearance, he communicated to the world through four agents, the last of whom died in 941. At that point the Twelfth Imam went silent, entering the period of ‘Great Occultation.’

In his last communiqué to the world, via one of these messengers in 941, this mysterious figure consoled his followers with prophecies regarding his eventual reappearance. The circumstances of that reappearance could, in the hands of Iran’s mad mullahs, visit upon the world calamities of a scale never before seen. And Israel and America will bear the brunt.

‘Hearts,’ warned Mohammad al-Mahdi, the Twelfth Imam, in his last message, ‘will become inaccessible to compassion. The earth will be filled with tyranny and violence.’ He was speaking of the time of his reappearance, explaining that he would only come back to the world when the evil that Muslims were suffering was at its absolute apex. In this he echoed a Shi’ite tradition of the words of the prophet of Islam himself, Muhammad, who prophesied that Read more…

Iran: Obama’s Complete And Unmitigated Surrender, ‘Time Will Prove The President’s Political Blindness’

11/26/2013 3 comments

Barack Obama’s surrender to Iran is much worse than Neville Chamberlain’s surrender to Germany. The weapons of yesteryear were limited in terms of their destructive potential. Today, however, we are dealing with weapons of mass destruction and an enemy that is literally hell-bent on obtaining them, all the while making it very clear what they intend to do once they have them. Barack Obama somehow seems to believe that what kept the “cold war” between America and Russia cold will also prevent a nuclear holocaust from happening between Iran and everybody else. But “mutually assured destruction” is not a deterrent to a nation that seeks death for the glory of “Allah” and as a guaranteed means to gain entry into Mohammed’s paradise. It is an incentive

By Alexander G. Markovsky, Family Security Matters – “Karl Marx said, ‘History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce.’ A short travel through history reveals that it keeps repeating itself as tragedy after tragedy because we stubbornly refuse to learn from it. British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli returned from Berlin in 1878 stating, ‘I have returned from Germany with peace for our time.’ That peace ended with World War I. British statesman Neville Chamberlain proclaimed ‘peace for our time’ after signing an agreement with Hitler in Munich in 1938, an agreement that was praised and celebrated in Europe and across the Atlantic. In a letter to Canadian Prime Minister Mackenzie King, President Franklin Roosevelt wrote, ‘I can assure you that we in the United States rejoice with you, and the world at large, that the outbreak of war was averted.’ The New York Daily News declared, ‘Hitler has made a significant gesture toward peace.’ The ‘significant gesture toward peace’ ended up with the World War II and fifty million dead, including six million Jews.

Echoing those two delusional optimists, President of the United States Barack Obama proclaimed after signing the Geneva Agreement with Iran that the U.S. and allied diplomacy ‘opened up a new path toward a world that is more secure.’ Time will prove the president’s political blindness and lack of historical perspective. The Geneva Agreement has all the underpinnings of the Munich Agreement. Just as in 1930 the world failed to stop Hitler, while the viper was still in its crib, and tolerated Germany’s violations of the Treaties of Vesalius to allow her to re-arm, the world de facto allowed Iran to ignore United Nations Security Council resolutions and continue the development of a nuclear weapon. Just as Brittan sold out Czechoslovakia in 1938 to appease Hitler, the United States sold out Israel in 2013 to appease Iran, with one subtle difference: Israel will not surrender the way Czechoslovakia did.

According to Secretary of State John Kerry, the United States enters into negotiations with Iran ‘with eyes absolutely wide open. We have no illusions.’ The historical precedents and political prudence would tell us otherwise. Here are just a few examples:

  • Illusion #1. Just as Iran was about to sink into chaos, the United States and its European allies offered her a helping hand. Kerry insists that if Iran violates the agreement it can be reversed and sanctions could be re-applied. The folly of this argument is that nothing in this world is more permanent than something temporary. The administration will never recognize its failure, and Obama supporters will insist on further softening the sanctions in order to provide Iran with more incentive to comply.  Just as with Hitler in the 1930s, the slippery slope of appeasement will prove to be irreversible and will continue until the sanction regime crumbles or Iran obtains a nuclear bomb, whichever comes first.
  • Illusion #2. In Geneva, Kerry said of the agreement, ‘It will make our ally Israel safer. Benjamin Netanyahu, prime minister of Israel, does not share Mr. Kerry’s Chamberlain-ish optimism. Netanyahu called the agreement ‘a historic mistake.’ What can John Kerry, an amateur in international diplomacy, and his boss possibly know that Benjamin Netanyahu, a highly experienced politician and a recognized expert on Middle East relations, does not? Kerry also said, ‘It will make our partners in the region safer. It is not clear which of the U.S. partners in the Middle East he is referring to. Netanyahu is not alone in criticizing the agreement; the Saudis do not like it, the Jordanians do not like it, and who does??? The Iranians and Syrians do, not surprisingly.”
