By Rebecca Camber, Mail Online – “A Muslim convert was heard chanting that he wanted to kill non-believers hours before going on a knife rampage and trying to kill a police officer and firemen.

The man was tasered multiple times by police after launching his attack on a busy street.

Officers were called around midday yesterday when the knifeman, armed with four blades, attempted to smash his way into  a neighbours’s property with an iron bar.

Hours earlier he had been heard reciting verses from the Koran and making threats ‘to kill Kuffars’.

Firemen at a nearby fire station in Battersea, South London, confronted the 26-year-old after seeing him throwing bottles at neighbours and threatening passers-by with kitchen knives.

But he went berserk and chased the firemen back to the station, where he attempted to batter down the doors.

Within minutes more than 20 police officers had arrived at the scene, blocking off the road as the man sprinted up and down smashing police car windows and screaming abuse.

Terrified onlookers cowered in local shops as police tried to contain him using a Taser.

The rampage has revived memories of the slaying of Fusilier Lee Rigby, who was hacked to death in the street by two knife-wielding Muslim radicals in Woolwich, South London, in May. Police said yesterday’s incident was not thought to be terror related.

Servet Kaplan, 22, a store manager at Battersea Food & Wine, said ‘People were trying to get into my store.

‘There were so many they wouldn’t fit through the door. I saw the police Taser the man and it didn’t affect him at all, he just carried on running.’

Nigeria: At Least 7 Killed As Muslim Mercenaries Invade Christian Communities, Thousands Flee Homes

By Peter Duru, allAfrica – “Seven persons have been reportedly killed while over six thousand others have also been displaced in Ikpele and Okpopolo communities following the invasion of parts of Agatu Local Government Area of Benue state by suspected Fulani mercenaries.

Saturday Vanguard gathered from sources that ‘the marauders who invaded the communities two days ago from Omola Local Government Area of Kogi state also burnt down several houses, huts and economic trees after killing seven persons in the affected communities.’

Confirming the development, renown leader of Agatu and Benue state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Mr. John Ngbede said, that his people in Ikpele and Okpopolo were attacked again on Tuesday, morning by the Fulanis when most of the people had gone to their farms.

‘They stormed the communities in a guerrilla fashion, burnt down houses and economic trees and while on their way out they killed two persons and injured two others who are currently in critical condition in a public hospital.

‘As I talk to you, there are rumours that the mercenaries are marching towards Iwarri village for further attacks. Our findings revealed that they stormed our communities from Loco in Nasarawa state from where they boarded speed boats to Omola Local Government Area of Kogi state, and from that point they launched attacks on our communities.

‘It is saddening that these incessant attacks have forced over 6,000 inhabitants of the affected communities and Agatu west to flee their homes for fear of being killed; most of them are now taking refuge at neighboring Apa Local Government Area and at Obagaji.

‘We are tired of these unending bloodbath, the Fulanis should come out and tell us their problem with Agatu people, and if they have a different agenda they should also let us know.'” Read more.

The Express Tribune – “The unabated violence in the city’s volatile Lyari neighbourhood has forced its entire Christian community to move to safer areas The Express Tribune has learnt.

Threats, killings, interferences in personal matters, drugs, extortion and rape of young girls were some of the reasons that compelled the out-migration from one of the oldest parts of Lyari, called Slaughter House.

Around 600 houses in Slaughter House, which comprises 22 buildings, was established in 1916 for the sanitary workers of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). It now stands deserted as its occupants were forced out by a group of gangsters, who were forcing them to join their ranks against its rival group or leave the compound forever. The residents, who were mostly employees of the KMC, were paying a monthly rent of Rs450 to the department.

These last occupants of Slaughter House were the fourth generation of the earliest KMC workers. Unfortunately, the fifth generation will have to find homes in various parts of the city, including Akhtar Colony, Kashmir Colony, Azam Basti, Azam Town, Korangi, Narain Pura, Essa Nagri, Zia Colony, Nasir Colony, Qayyumabad and Baldia Town.

The Slaughter House was primarily a residential area for minorities, which included 90 per cent Christians and 10 per cent Hindus. There are seven sacred worship places – four churches and three temples. ‘It is almost empty now,’ disclosed an affected elder of the Christian family. ‘We all are separated now. We won’t be reunited again,’ he feared.

What led to such a massive migration out of Slaughter House? The old man said the condition in the area was not suitable for a family to resident. ‘Our daughters were not safe. Our life and property was at stake,’ he explained. ‘Scores of families left homes without even taking their valuables.'” Read more.
