By Raymond Ibrahim, Jihad Watch – “The Christian Copts of Shubra al-Khaima, Egypt, are in a ‘state of panic and terror’ as ‘a number of supporters of ousted President Muhammad Morsi have been placing markings on Christian homes in the area for [future] targeting.’

Speaking anonymously, one Copt from the region told Veto News agency that they ‘recently noticed strange movements in the streets. When they went to inspect, they discovered large numbers of bearded men, who began to quicken their steps. They tried to catch up with them but couldn’t. When they returned, they discovered ‘X’ marks in black on the homes of Copts, separating them out [from Muslim homes].’

Such markings are likely in preparation for the Brotherhood’s scheduled mass protests, or terrorist rallies, for Friday, so they know which homes to attack, plunder and/or burn as they call for the return of Muslim Brotherhood rule in Egypt.

Peru: State Of Emergency Declared As 250,000 Alpacas Die In The Southern Andean Region

Peruvian Times – “Peru’s government has declared a state of emergency in parts of the southern Andean region of Puno that have been hit with the coldest temperatures in a decade, daily El Comercio reported.

President Ollanta Humala, visiting the area this week, announced the emergency for seven provinces in Puno – Carabaya, Sandia, Lampa, San Antonio de Putina, Melgar, Puno and El Collao.

Hundreds of families have been affected and more than 250,000 alpacas have died due to freezing temperatures and snow storms that have hit the southern highlands.

Vehicles on the highway between Puno and Arequipa were also affected. Passengers on interprovincial buses were forced to wait some eight to 10 hours on the icy highways at temperatures of minus 15 degrees Celsius.” Source – Peruvian Times.

By Riaz Ahmad, The Express Tribune – “PESHAWAR: Elders in Sheikhan village near the border of Akka Khel, Khyber Agency have received their third letter in less than two months, warning them to either kill a local woman accused of ‘ill character’ or hand her over to Lashkar-e-Islam (LI).

The letters were sent to an Afghan prayer leader and directly addresses village elders, blaming Reshma* for immoral behaviour. In them, militants have asked villagers to hand over the married woman if they cannot kill her, saying LI will ‘take care of her.’

Fearing for their own safety, village elders are unable to decide what to do. They summoned Reshma’s husband and handed him the letters, which he then took and quietly left.

The elders, however, know the house of the accused woman is just a stone’s throw from Khyber Agency and the militants can come take her away at any time. Fortunately, they have agreed to not obey the instructions of militants to kill her. ‘We cannot kill people for them,’ said an elder requesting anonymity.

On the other hand, Reshma said her only crime is answering the door when her husband, who is a government employee, is away at work. ‘I have eight children and am at least 45 years old. I‘m no longer a girl, but even then they have been after me since the past few months,’ she added.

‘I am not a woman of bad character, but these militants are creating trouble for us and we suspect the involvement of our neighbours in this. My husband has already vowed to resist any such attempt to hand me over to Lashkar-e-Islam.'” Read more.
