Mali: Al-Qaeda Beheads French Hostage In Retaliation For France’s Military Intervention Against Islamists

The New York Times – “NOUAKCHOTT, Mauritania (Reuters) — Al Qaeda’s North African arm said on Tuesday that it had beheaded a French hostage in retaliation for France’s intervention in Mali, Mauritania’s ANI news agency reported, citing a commander for the group.

ANI reported that in a telephone call to the agency, which has close links to Islamist militants, the commander said the hostage, Philippe Verdon, was beheaded on March 10 ‘in response to the French military intervention in the north of Mali.’

Mr. Verdon was one of two French hostages kidnapped in Hombori, a town in northern Mali, in November 2011.

The French Foreign Ministry declined to comment on the report, which could not be independently verified.

Fourteen other French hostages are detained in Western Africa, including seven believed to be held by the Qaeda group, Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, and its affiliates.

One militant leader in the region, Mokhtar Belmokhtar, pledged revenge after France began a campaign in January to dislodge Islamist militants who had hijacked a Tuareg rebellion in Mali and seized the northern half of the country.” Read more.

US: Homeland ‘Security’ To Extend ‘Trusted Traveler’ Status To Citizens Of Saudi Arabia (That Still Actively Promotes Islamic Terror)

Saudi Arabia is the birthplace and the spiritual homestead of Islam and Islamic extremism. Does it make any logical sense whatsoever to believe that the number one country still actively encouraging world-wide Islamic terror will all of a sudden change the hearts and minds of “closet radicals” into never again thinking about taking advantage of America’s accommodating position on Islam and its politically correct security apparatus? With 80% of all mosques in America today teaching violent jihad and Islamic supremacy (while often issuing words of peace and brotherly love publicly) we’re already seeing the fruit produced, with hundreds of thousands of American Muslims believing that anyone mocking Islam should be put to death, not to mention a substantial increase in homegrown Islamic terror during Obama’s Presidency or global terrorism in general since 9/11. And this is something that isn’t going to change any time soon regardless of the so-called “bond between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” …

InsecurityFox News – “A Department of Homeland Security program intended to give ‘trusted traveler’ status to low-risk airline passengers soon will be extended to Saudi travelers, opening the program to criticism for accommodating the country that produced 15 of the 19 hijackers behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Sources voiced concern about the decision to the Investigative Project on Terrorism, which issued a report Wednesday on the under-the-radar announcement — which was first made by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano after meeting in January with her Saudi counterpart. According to the IPT, this would be the first time the Saudi government has been given such a direct role in fast-tracking people for entry into the United States.

‘I think you have radical Wahhabism in certain elements in Saudi Arabia, and I think to be more lenient there than in other places would be a mistake,’ Rep. Frank Wolf told the Investigative Project on Terrorism. ‘There were 15 [hijackers] from that country, and there is a lot taking place in that region.’

Only an exclusive handful of countries enjoy inclusion in the Global Entry program — Canada, Mexico, South Korea and the Netherlands. According to the IPT, some officials are questioning why Saudi Arabia gets to reap the benefits of the program, when key U.S. allies like Germany and France are not enrolled; Israel has reached a deal with the U.S., but that partnership has not yet been implemented.

Any Saudi travelers cleared through the program will be able to bypass the normal customs line after providing passports and fingerprints. The status lasts for five years.

The decision is a turnaround, the IPT notes, from when Saudi Arabia was briefly placed on a list of countries whose U.S.-bound travelers would face higher scrutiny, in the wake of the failed Christmas Day bombing attempt in 2009.

But Napolitano spoke highly of ‘the bond between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’ when she announced the change in January.

‘By enhancing collaboration with the government of Saudi Arabia, we reaffirm our commitment to more effectively secure our two countries against evolving threats while facilitating legitimate trade and travel,’ Napolitano said.” Read more.

The Palestinian Lie Machine ‘Welcomes’ Obama, Defames America And Declares Its Love For Hitler

Behold, the true face of Israel’s “peace partners” …

By Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik, PMW – “Two days before US President Barack Obama’s visit to Israel and the PA, the official PA daily chose to print anti-American hate speech along with pro-Hitler comments in an op-ed:

“Our history is replete with lies… [including] the lie about Al-Qaeda and the September 11 events, which asserted that Muslim terrorists committed it, and that it was not an internal American action by the Freemasons.”

The op-ed further implies that Hitler was greater than both Churchill and Roosevelt, who were ‘alcoholics’:

“Churchill and Roosevelt were alcoholics, and in their youth were questioned more than once about brawls they started in bars, while Hitler hated alcohol and was not addicted to it. He used to go to sleep early and wake up early, and was very organized. These facts have been turned upside down as well, and Satan has been dressed with angels’ wings.”

The PA daily op-ed further asserts that negative attitudes toward Nazism are not objective but the result of the West’s victory:

“Had Hitler won, Nazism would be an honor that people would be competing to belong to, and not a disgrace punishable by law.”

Palestinian Media Watch has documented anti-US messages promoted by the PA. PMW has also documented the PA’s praise for the September 11 terror attacks.” Read more.

Nigeria: Over A Dozen Killed And Wounded After Devout Muslims Spray Christian Funeral Attendees With Bullets

For peaceful purposes …

Christian Today – “Christian children fleeing from gunmen saved their lives by hiding among the rock formations towering over the eastern side of this northern village, but a 6-month-old baby and a 13-year-old girl never got the chance.

The infant, Alexander Blessed, and the girl, Happiness Adamu, were the youngest of five people from five churches who were slain. Christians were still gathered in and about a home where a funeral for the village chief had taken place in the predominantly Muslim state of Kaduna when, under cover of darkness on a Saturday night (Feb. 23), marauding, black-clad gunmen arrived from the west and began firing.

Eleven Christians were hospitalized with wounds, including Martha Blessed, who was shot as she tried to protect her infant son. Bullets broke both legs of another 13-year-old Christian girl, Gloria Livinus, of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Aduwan.

The raid came as a shock as area Christians had been living without enmity toward anyone, said John Audi, 45-year-old grandson of the village chief and a member of St. Patrick’s church.

‘We were all scattered, and some that were shot were crying,’ he told Morning Star News. ‘We all ran for cover where we believed we could avoid being hit by the bullets.’

Witnesses reportedly said the gunmen spoke in Fulani dialect, but church leaders said the area had been free of the land and property conflicts that have marked relations between Muslim, ethnic Fulanis and predominantly Christian tribes. Islamic extremist groups have increasingly incited Fulani Muslims to attack Christian areas, and witnesses reportedly said the assailants carried sophisticated weapons.

Area church leaders questioned how the shooting could have gone on for three hours without response from authorities in a north-central state that has been blanketed with military security forces to counteract terrorist violence.

‘This village was attacked for three hours, yet no help came to our people here,’ said the Rt. Rev. Danlami Bello, bishop of the First African Church, Kafanchan Diocese, whose headquarters are in Aduwan. ‘These attacks have gone unhindered without security agencies coming to the scenes of the attacks to assist Christian victims.'” Read more.
