An Obama Nation: Obamacare’s Other Constitutional Problem — Mandated Support For Abortion

11/20/2012 4 comments

Those who support abortion have convinced themselves that the product of conception is not a human baby, but is rather nothing more than a “fetus” or “tissue” or any number of nouns of indifference. You and I know differently, however. Even if they are not yet fully formed, we know that what we have is a child in the making. We have human life. We have innocence. But under Obamacare, you may now be forced to support all those who say otherwise …

Proverbs 6:16-17, “… the LORD hates … hands that shed innocent blood”

Psalms 139:13-14, “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.”

By The Washington Times – “The line of those waiting at the courthouse itching for a chance to derail Obamacare just got longer. So far, the Catholic Church and 30 of the nation’s governors have taken the lead to battle against the health care law’s requirement that states establish health insurance exchanges and that abortion coverage be subsidized. Now private companies are enlisting in the fight.

Take the craft retail chain Hobby Lobby, whose operations reflect the Christian views of the Green family, its founder and owner. The company self-insures, so under Obamacare, it faces daily fines in excess of $1.3 million unless the Green family violates its religious beliefs and offers its 13,000 employees full coverage for items, including ‘morning after’ abortion pills beginning Jan. 1. The only other option for the company is to drop coverage of employees altogether and pay a $2,000 per employee annual tax. That’s still very expensive for the employer, and it’s probably worse for their employees.

Hobby Lobby found itself in this situation after the Department of Health and Human Services issued a regulation requiring employers provide coverage of contraception and related services, regardless of religious belief. The regulation had a narrow, one-year safe harbor for religious institutions, but it offered no relief for private employers running a for-profit business. Some 40 cases with about 100 plaintiffs are challenging the regulation. At heart of this litigation is the scope of the First Amendment’s free exercise of religion clause, and the role of religious belief in the daily life of American civil society.

A judge has yet to rule on Hobby Lobby’s complaint, but at least two other businesses have been Read more…

Hamas And Islamic Jihad In Gaza Deliberately Place Civilians In Mortal Danger, Choreograph Gory Scenes For Media Consumption

Palestinian Activists Do The Same

Palestinian Activists: More Of The Same

By Paul Alster – “Haifa, Israel – There is only one thing worse than the image of a child killed by military conflict, and that is the image of a child killed by military conflict having deliberately been placed in the line of fire.

War is, by definition, a very nasty business, and invariably it is the innocents on all sides who bear a significant cost in lives lost, people maimed and communities traumatized.

But solid evidence now reveals how Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza have been deliberately placing their civilian population in mortal danger, choreographing a number of seemingly gory scenes, as well as releasing images from other conflicts, such as Iraq and Syria, and passing them off as dead Gazan civilians killed by Israeli missiles.

In an attempt to persuade the world that Israel is committing war crimes and to distract attention away from the illegal and immoral use of their own population as human shields, Hamas has resorted to staging a number of fake deaths and scenes of severely injured people right in front of international TV crews.

The BBC recently broadcast a news report showing a man being carried off by four others, seemingly the victim of an Israeli missile strike, only for him to reappear in the same clip a few seconds later wandering around completely unharmed. The same organization’s Jon Donnison yesterday re-tweeted a picture of the dead body of a young girl on a stretcher in Gaza with the headline ‘Heartbreaking,’ only for it to transpire that the girl had sadly been killed three weeks earlier in Syria.

Such is the sometimes chaotic nature of the situation on the ground in Gaza that mistakes can be made, but according to Paul Hirschson, spokesman for Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hamas has crossed a red line even in the Arab world by promoting the use of images of dead people – children in particular – against the tradition of their religion and the expected respect for the dead.” Read more.

California: Four Muslim Men Aimed To Join ‘Violent Jihad’ To Kill Americans And ‘Pave The Way To Jerusalem’

Al-Qaeda Fatwa Directed Followers To Retake Al-Aqsa Mosque

Al-Qaeda Fatwa Directed Followers To Retake Al-Aqsa Mosque

By Nancy Dillon, NEW YORK DAILY NEWS – “Four men with links to Southern California have been charged with plotting to join Al Qaeda and the Taliban to attend terrorist training and engage in ‘violent jihad’ against Americans, the FBI said Monday night.

The group’s alleged ringleader, Sohiel Omar Kabir, 34, allegedly influenced co-defendants Miguel Santana and Ralph Deleon to convert to ‘radical and violent Islamic doctrine” in 2010, prosecutors said.

Kabir, a former resident of Pomona, Calif., and naturalized U.S. citizen who was born in Afghanistan, recently traveled to Kabul to arrange the group’s terrorist training, according to a complaint unsealed Monday in federal court in Riverside.

Santana, 21, lives in Upland, Calif., and is a permanent resident who was born in Mexico and has an application for citizenship pending in the U.S.

Deleon, 23, is a permanent resident living in Ontario, Calif., who was born in the Philippines.

The complaint alleges that in January, Deleon ‘liked’ a video posted on Kabir’s Facebook page that ‘appears to be a prayer for the success of the mujahideen and features various photos including Al-Qa’ida leaders Osama Bin Laden and Ayman al Zawahiri, (the) 9/11 attacks, bloodied adults and children, and Islamic fighters.’

In February, Santana said he wanted to ‘help the brothers pave the way to Jerusalem,’ the complaint states.

Prosecutors believe Santana was referring to a fatwa issued by Al Qaeda directing followers to retake control of the Al-Aqsa Mosque located in Jerusalem.

The criminal complaint alleges the men intended to meet in Afghanistan in the near future and initially join ‘the students,’ meaning the Taliban, before joining ‘the professors,’ meaning Al Qaeda.

In September, the group recruited Riverside resident Arifeen Gojali, 21, to join their cause.

The complaint says the defendants discussed the plot among themselves and with a confidential FBI source.

The various conversations detailed their plans to kill American soldiers and others, the complaint states.” Read more.

Sudan: Islamist Government Launches Bombing Campaign Against Christian Areas Of South Kordofan

By ASSIST News – “The Sudanese government has stepped up bombing of its own non-Arab civilians in Christian areas of Sudan’s South Kordofan state the past month, killing a 1-year-old baby and wounding others, sources said.

According to a story by Morning Star News, since South Sudan split from Sudan in a referendum last year, ethnic Nuba peoples in Sudan’s South Kordofan state believe the government’s goal of squashing Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLA-N) rebels carries an increasingly evident goal of ridding the area of non-Arab peoples and Christianity.

Citizen journalists at online news site claim that 81 of 102 bombings in South Kordofan in Oct. hit civilian areas under no ground attack. The bombings were not meant to provide air support for ground forces, and they did not hit SPLA-N soldiers.

Run by an aid worker who remained in South Kordofan after his Christian humanitarian organization was forced to evacuate when military conflict escalated last year, Nuba Reports’ stated goal is to credibly report attacks on civilians as the government has forbidden media and aid agencies access to the area.

A Russian-made Antonov plane on Oct. 28 dropped six bombs in Hajar Jalab and six bombs in Tongoli village in Delami County in South Kordofan.

Morning Star News said they killed 1-year-old Mahdi Elimen and wounding Magdi Elimen, 13; Mohib Elimen, 11; Mordi Elimen, 9; Malaki Elimen, 4; and their mother, Kadija Sied, 35, according to Nuba Reports. The family’s religious affiliation was not confirmed, but sources said the area is populated almost entirely by Christians.

‘Our people are dying every day as result of aerial bombardment because they are Christians,’ a pastor said during a recent funeral for bombing victims.

A source who returned from three months in South Kordofan told Morning Star News he witnessed air strikes in Al Labu, Al Hibael, Al Atamur and Um Serdeba, areas hit with 20 bombs in two days in October.

Sudan dropped 15 bombs on Um Serdeba on Oct. 30, according to Nuba Reports, and also bombed Karkaia and Al Latmore villages. The attacks wounded a 9-year-old girl whose family is Christian, a source told Morning Star News.” Read more.

Flashback: Sudan Imam: ‘We Will Never Forgive Christians For Not Being Muslims’, Suggests That Christianity Must Be Eliminated Throughout The North – “Students and administrators at Gerif West Bible School in Sudan have yet to fully recover their losses from the April 21 attack, but the source said classes resumed on Oct. 15 even as area Muslims vie to take school land and anti-Christian messages emanate from a nearby mosque loudspeaker on most Fridays. Muslim leaders have been asserting through the mosque loudspeaker that Christian institutions should not be permitted in Sudan, as the country should be a ‘purely Islamic state’ since the secession of South Sudan on July 9, 2011, he said. ‘We are expecting the level of persecution to rise in Sudan in the coming days,’ a pastor who works at the Bible school told Morning Star News by phone, adding that hostilities against churches and Christians were intensifying.” Read more.

Hamas: Cease Fire Will Take Effect At 5:00 PM EST, Israel: Deal Not Finalized Yet

11/20/2012 1 comment

Declaring a “cease fire” before one has been agreed upon by both parties may be an intentional move on the part of Egypt and/or Hamas to vilify Israel as a group of war-mongering thugs who would rather see innocent Palestinian civilians die than agree to any truce. Ideally, there will be a long-lasting peace. But in the real world, there has never been and will never be any real peace between Israel and those who, because of the teachings of their self-proclaimed prophet, believe that the Day of Judgement will not come until they’ve nearly killed all remaining Jews

Ezekiel 13:9-10a, “My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD. Because they lead my people astray, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace …”

Reuters – “Israel and militants from the Gaza Strip have agreed to an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire that will come into force at midnight local time, Hamas official Ayman Taha said, speaking to Reuters from Cairo.

‘An agreement for calm has been reached. It will be declared at 9.00 p.m. and go into effect at midnight,’ Taha said…

By Tuesday, 115 Palestinians, including 54 civilians, were killed since Israel began an air onslaught that has so far included nearly 1,500 strikes. Some 840 people have been wounded, including 225 children, Gaza health officials said.

Three Israeli civilians have also been killed and dozens wounded since the fighting began last week, the numbers possibly kept down by a rocket-defence system that Israel developed with U.S. funding. More than 1,000 rockets have been fired at Israel this week, the military said.” Read more.

Israel Insists on 24 Hours of “Calm” Before Agreeing to Any Truce – “Minutes after a Hamas official told Reuters that Palestinians and Israeli had agreed to an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire, a spokesman Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that no agreement had been reached yet. Mark Regev, the Israeli spokesman, told CNN that the negotiations are still going on… A short time later, an Egyptian official confirmed to Reuters that talks are still going on, but expressed hope that a deal could be reached in the next five hours, before midnight local time.” Read more.

The Anti-Semitic Bizarro World Of Turkey’s Prime Minister Erdogan

11/20/2012 1 comment

By Joel Richardson – “In early October, when a single mortar shell launched from Syria missed its target and reached Turkey’s borders, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, was enraged.

In referring to the mere possibility of an attack launched from within Syria, Erdogan declared, ‘If there is a terror operation, if an irritant, emerges, then intervention would be our most natural right.’

And just this last month, when terrorists from the Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) launched a series of attacks against Turkish targets, Prime Minister Erdogan swiftly utilized his ‘right’ to respond. When he was done, in the space of just over a couple weeks, 500 Kurds had been killed.

Why, then, is Erdogan not willing to cede similar rights to Israel after she is relentlessly attacked by Hamas?

Consider the depth of hypocrisy here. As of Monday morning, by the time Israel finally responded to the recent rounds of Hamas’ attacks, they had already sustained over 850 jihadi rocket attacks launched into Israel. While the Israeli Iron Dome anti-missile batteries were able to effectively shoot down over 300 rockets heading straight for Israeli neighborhoods, a few dozen were able to penetrate the Iron Dome, landing in civilian areas.

Last week, when one of these missiles penetrated the roof of a family home in Kiryat Malachi (a sister city to Los Angeles) three Israelis were killed.

Surely Israel would now possess the same ‘right’ to respond that Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan has so forcefully claimed and used himself to defend his own country. One would think. But what is clear is that in Erdogan, we are not dealing with a rational player.

Consider just a few of Erdogan’s rabidly delusional anti-Semitic comments made over just the past few days.

As if not a single missile had ever been launched from Gaza, Erdogan has Read more…
