Powerful 7.7 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Pacific Coast Of British Columbia, Strongest To Hit Region Since 1949

According to the USGS, a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake just struck the Pacific coast of British Columbia, Canada, at a depth of only 10.9 miles (17.5 km), the strongest earthquake to hit the region since the 8.1 magnitude quake that struck the Queen Charlotte Fault on August 22, 1949.  Shallow earthquakes tend to be larger, and therefore more damaging, earthquakes. There are reports coming out of Vancouver that people living in high-rise apartments felt their building sway. Fortunately, the epicentre is located in the sparsely populated region of the Queen Charlotte Islands (Haida Gwaii), though a tsunami warning has been issued for coastal areas along British Columbia and Alaska from the northern tip of Vancouver Island …

Darkness Descending In England: Police Begin Arresting Groups Opposed To The Islamisation Of Britain

By Pamela Geller, American Thinker – “The arrest of over 53 people in the United Kingdom is the beginning of the end for once-great Britain.  The leaders of the English Defence League (EDL), Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll, were among those arrested, as well as Paul Weston of the British Freedom Party (BFP).  I spoke with Kevin Carroll about his recent arrest and that of Robinson and Weston, and he told me the appalling details.

Carroll told me that British authorities tried everything in the book to stop him from running for police and crime commissioner (PCC) for the Bedfordshire Police Authority.  Nonetheless, he officially won the right to run for PCC last Friday.  But then, the very next day, British authorities carried out these mass arrests of EDL and BFP members, stripping them and forcing them to wear white paper overalls like those given to incarcerated terrorists.  They were allowed no phone calls.

Meanwhile, British police raided the homes of Carroll, Robinson, and three others who had been arrested.  ‘They absolutely ransacked mine,’ Carroll told me.  ‘They smashed the door off and wrecked my home.  They took my only vehicle, with all the tools of my trade inside, and impounded it, as well as Tommy’s car.’  The police, the bomb squad, forensics teams, and sniffer dogs spent seven and a half hours stripping Carroll’s van to the bone.  ‘When they finished,’ he said, ‘they found nothing!  They loaded it up with bugs and GPS monitors and threw everything in the back; it looks like it’s been in a blender.’

After smashing the door to Carroll’s home off its hinges, police officials repaired it, got a locksmith to put on a new lock, and left with the new keys, leaving Carroll locked out of his own home.  When Carroll was released, still wearing his white paper prison suit, it was dark and raining; true to form, police officials offered him no transportation, even though it was late at night on a Sunday.

Robinson is being held in Wandsworth prison, an old and antiquated structure with a large population of Muslim prisoners.  Weston was arrested and later released without charge for refusing to leave a reception area without information about Robinson.  And it is clear why officials would not want that information to get out: not only has Robinson been placed with the general prison population instead of segregated for his own protection, but prison officials have even put him in a cell with Read more…

Denmark: City Officials Ban Israeli Flags At Local ‘Diversity Festival’ Celebrating Different Countries To Avoid Offending Muslims

Copenhagen today is again occupied by those who espouse the same Nazi ideology that occupied the city during World War II. The only difference, however, is that during World War II Copenhagen insisted that all Jews be treated as equals to everybody else …

By Ray Weaver, The Copenhagen Post – “A city hall request that the Israeli flag not be displayed at a street festival intended to promote diversity has Jewish community leaders wondering what ‘diversity’ really means to some city leaders.

During planning meetings for September’s Smag Verden – Mangfoldighedsfest, a celebration of the foods and cultures of different countries, Jewish participants were warned that some would interpret the flying of the Israeli flag as a provocation.

‘We were told that is was better if we did not fly our flag,’ Malgorzata H Hansen, who represented local Jews at the meetings, told Berlingske newspaper.

Organisers said they feared clashes between Jewish, Muslim and leftist groups if the Israeli flag was displayed.

Originally, representatives of TaskForce Inklusion, the group responsible for communicating with all of the groups participating in the festival, told the Jewish representatives that all participating associations were being asked not to bring flags.

Other flags were displayed prominently at the festival and the groups involved said they had never been asked not to display their country’s standards.” Read more.

Flashback: Europe’s New Nazis, ‘The Killing Will Not Stop Until the Muslim Occupation of Europe Comes to An End’ – “There was a time when Jewish children were hunted down and killed in France. Their killers believed themselves to be members of a superior group that was destined to rule the world and enslave or exterminate members of inferior groups… What was then is now again. The occupying army doesn’t wear uniforms, it wears keffiyahs. It doesn’t speak German, it speaks Arabic.” Read more.

Flashback: Hamas Islamist MP: Allah Used The Nazis To Punish The Jews, Now It’s Our Turn – “Allah punished the Israelites many times throughout history. He punished them by means of the Assyrians and the Babylonians. He punished them by means of the Companions of the Prophet in the Arabian Peninsula, at Al-Madina, and at Khaybar. He punished them by means of the Germans, and before that by means of the Romans. Today, it is the turn of the Islamic nation to punish them once again.” Watch Video.

Syria: Islamist Rebel Commander Injects Syringe Filled With Diesel Fuel Into Christian, ‘Die Slowly, Christian Dog’

And this is the mindset itself of the Sunni rebels who are being “secretly” supported by the Obama Administration …

By Mary Wakefield, The Spectator – “There is one main road stretching north-south along the Bekaa valley between Lebanon and Syria. It runs in a beeline from the prosperous little city of Zhaleh, on through a series of villages each with its own religious bent — some Sunni, some Christian — to the border town of al-Qaa, then on into Homs and the bloody mess of the Syrian war.

We’re just short of the border when what has been an uninspiring landscape, a wafting sea of plastic bags caught on desert shrubs, springs suddenly to life. Out of nowhere: orchards, vineyards, fig trees; aubergines fat and fallen on the grass. The air is sweet with the smell of apples.

Dr Bassam El-Hachem, professor of sociology at the Lebanese university in Beirut and a big hitter in Lebanon’s FPM party, is our tour guide today on this jaunt to visit Christian refugees. He leans over his shoulder, to address the minibus (one priest, two hacks and the Doc’s flamboyant blonde wife). ‘The source of the Orontes river!’ He points, we nod. The Orontes, we learn, runs from here into Syria spreading rich, fertile soil through the Wadi al-Nasara — the valley of the Christians — up ahead. It traces the course of the fighting, past Hama and Idlib province into Turkey. On our return trip, I look at the Orontes in a different light, because though the conflict in Syria is fuelled by religion and repression, I suspect this river plays a part too.

As we pull into al-Qaa, the minibus team grows quieter. We drive past the checkpoint and peer into no man’s land. This is the portal through which the refugees escape from Syria into Lebanon: not just Christians, also Shia, Sunni and Alawite (Syrian President Bashir al-Assad’s family are Alawites). It’s still reasonably safe on this side of the border. Syria’s war hasn’t spilled over into Lebanon yet — but it’s a very precarious peace. Hezbollah has formed a little pro-Assad gang with the Christians and have a grip of this area here. In Aarsal just a few miles away, the Sunni population supports the rebels of the Free Syrian Army. Under the cover of night, both sides steal across the border to fight.

But in the mayor of al-Qaa’s house, all is calm. The windows are bulletproof, the shelves heavy with bottles of expensive drink, and we sit in the usual way on seats around the walls, like patients in an old-fashioned waiting-room. After tea, the Christian refugees who’ve been corralled in here tell their stories.

First up is Boutros (not his real name), a 26-year-old from the nearby Syrian town of Qusayr where once Christians and Sunnis lived side by side. So how did the fighting start? ‘At first the Sunni rebels offered us a choice: join us or leave. When we refused, they turned on us. Our neighbours!’ says Boutros in outrage. ‘Then the Sunnis began to threaten us. They would shout Read more…
