Spooked Forecasters Warn Hurricane Sandy Could Become The Perfect ‘Super-Monster-Frankenstorm’ Of The Century, Devastate The Northeast

Fox News – “With a name like ‘Frankenstorm,’ this could get ugly.

Hurricane Sandy, moving north from the Caribbean, was expected to make landfall Monday night near the Delaware coast, then hit two winter weather systems as it moves inland, creating a hybrid monster storm that could bring nearly a foot of rain, high winds and up to 2 feet of snow.

Experts said the storm would be wider and stronger than last year’s Irene, which caused more than $15 billion in damage, and could rival the worst East Coast storm on record.

Officials did not mince words, telling people to be prepared for several days without electricity. Jersey Shore beach towns began issuing voluntary evacuations and protecting boardwalks

Atlantic Beach casinos made contingency plans to close, and officials advised residents of flood-prone areas to stay with family or be ready to leave. Airlines said to expect cancellations and waived change fees for passengers who want to reschedule.

‘Be forewarned,’ said Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy. ‘Assume that you will be in the midst of flooding conditions, the likes of which you may not have seen at any of the major storms that have occurred over the last 30 years.'” Read more.

Michigan: 11,000 Dead Deer Reported Is ‘By Far The Worst We Have Seen’ In History, And The Numbers Are Actually Much Higher

By Steve Kelso – “GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – The number of Michigan deer dead of a virus continues to rise.

More than 11,000 deer that have been reported dead of epizootic hemorrhagic disease, or EHD, according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

The disease causes extensive internal hemorrhages, according to the DNR. White-tailed deer usually develop symptoms seven days after exposure. Between eight and 36 hours after the start of symptoms like rapid pulse and breathing, fever and weakness, the deer lie down and die.

EHD is spread by a gnat called the midge — a species that multiplied well in this summer’s drought. It has been know to exist in Michigan for years, but this year’s outbreak is the worst in history.

‘It is way worse than any other outbreak. We have had a few that got over 1,000 or maybe over a thousand a few years back, but this is by far the worst we have seen it,’ said DNR Wildlife Biologist John Niewoonder.

The hardest-hit areas are in southwest Michigan, a DNR map shows. Ionia County has also seen a big outbreak. There have been 2,244 reported cases there. Kent County has had 1,637 reported cases.

The DNR says that the number of deer dead of EHD is actually much higher than the 11,000 or so reported, but admits that there is no telling exactly how many deer have died.

The DNR had hoped that by October, the numbers would be on the decrease because a hard freeze should kill off the midges.

Hunters should still feel free to hunt, the DNR says, and the agency will not put any limitations on deer hunting this year. But after this season concludes, the DNR will consider numbers gathered from deer check stations as they decide how many permits to issue next year.” Read more.

Iceland: Largest Tremors In 20 Years Felt In The North, Authorities Warn Residents To Prepare For Possible Big Earthquake

By Robert Robertsson and Patrick Lannin -“(Reuters) – Icelandic authorities warned people in the north of the island on Thursday to prepare for a possible big earthquake after the biggest tremors in the area for 20 years.

The north Atlantic island, where almost 320,000 people live, is a hotspot of volcanic and seismic activity as it straddles a fault in the earth’s surface.

The Civil Protection Department said in a statement that recent small quakes in an area under the sea about 20 km (12 miles) off the north of Iceland had prompted it to issue a warning to local people.

It said such shocks, one of which was a magnitude 5.6, often led to stronger quakes. Warnings were issued when there were grounds to expect a natural or manmade event that could threaten health and human safety, it added.

‘People are anxious because they don’t know what might happen,’ said Amundi Gunnarsson, chief of the fire brigade in Fjallabyggd, one of the small towns in the area, and a member of the Civil Protection Department.

‘At the same time, life goes on as usual. People are going to work and children are going to school, but everyone is on alert,’ he told Reuters by telephone.

The coastal area in the north is home to several small towns and a population of several thousand people.

The biggest town in the north of Iceland, Akureyri, has a population of about 17,000 people, and lies roughly 100 km south of the seismic activity.

Geologist Benedikt Ofeigsson said houses in Iceland could typically withstand quakes of a magnitude about 7.

‘Of course there could be some damage to in walls and concrete in such strong earthquakes, but what is important that houses have stood firm,’ he told Reuters.” Source – Reuters.

Syria: Christian Pastor And Family Executed By Islamists, ‘Their Goal Is To Eradicate Christians’

MNN – “The civil war in Syria continues to claim lives. More than 30,000 have already died in the conflict. Now, with the rule of law unbridled, innocent Christians are becoming victims as radicals take advantage of the situation.

The Middle East Director of Christian Aid Mission says marauding bands of militants are responsible. ‘They’re not necessarily Syrians, but they’re very radical Muslims, and their goal is to eradicate Christians. They believe it’s an abomination to have Christians within Syria.’

We are not identifying this director for security reasons, but he tells us a Christian Aid-supported worker was a victim. ‘There was a band of militia that came through and told all of the people to get out; then, they went ahead and killed the pastor and his family. So there [are] quite a few now–I think there are 11 [Christians]–who have been killed in that one area from that ministry that we help.’

Why has the rule of law disappeared from Syria? The director says, ‘All of the typical security that you would have in the country is trying to protect the country. They’re not worried about providing police protection for the little communities around, and so the people are all vulnerable.’

That’s forcing many Syrians to flee into Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey. The ministry directory is particularly concerned about 32 Christian families who escaped this recent violence, who are frightened for their lives. ‘The goal is to try to get them out. Once they get into Lebanon, because they’re close to the border of Lebanon, then they need to be taken care of.’ Funding is need to help these believers.

The ministry director says non-Christians are also in need. Christian Aid-supported churches are reaching out with food, shelter, clothing, and the Gospel. ‘They’ve had many, many Muslims who have become Christians and there’s still an opportunity to give out Gospel DVDs and New Testaments to the refugees. There’s great openness among those people.’

Support is also needed for to support Christian schools that have been established for the children of refugee families.

Prayer is also important: not just for the victims, but for those responsible. ‘You look at the Apostle Paul: he was the worst of sinners and was a persecutor of the church. And God reached his heart! We need to be praying for these radicals that God would touch their hearts and that they would come to know Christ.’

‘Beating, Forced Marriages, Murder And Rape’: Violence Against Women In Afghanistan Hit 550 Cases Last Month

By Saleha Soadat, RAWA News – “Afghanistan’s Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) on Wednesday said that it recorded 550 cases of violence against women in the last month, showing a remarkable increase from previous months.

‘In the last month, 550 cases of violence against including, beating, forced marriages, murder and rape – most of them happening in the remoter provinces of the country – have been recorded at the Human Rights Commission,’ AIHRC Women’s Rights Coordinator Latifa Sultani said.

Religious scholars condemned the perpetrators of the violence saying that families who commit such deeds against women are living in ignorance, unaware of the tenants of Islam and the rights of women.

‘Families who commit any kind of violence against women are living in the era of ignorance. We are now living in the modern era of Islam, we should fight against such events,’ Afghan religious scholar Mawlawi Hedayatullah told TOLOnews.

The Afghan Women’s Network (AWN) also expressed its concerns over the statistics saying that the numbers for last month were exceptional.

AWN chief Ferozan Mashal said she is working hard to launch an awareness programme in order for people to know what are women’s rights.

The civil society is putting pressure on different organs to enforce laws. We also play a vital role in informing the people about what are their rights and the laws of the country,’ she told TOLOnews.

By Michael Carl – “Now just being a Muslim apparently isn’t good enough for some radicals. A statement issued by a jihadist group in Pakistan labels non-jihadist Muslims as ‘kafirs’ and calls for non-jihadi Muslims to be killed.

The report released on Islam Watch says that non-jihadi Muslims are not following the path of the Prophet Muhammad and should be treated the same as infidels.

Atlas Shrugs publisher and jihad analyst Pamela Geller confirms that the claims in both presentations are correct.

‘The Quran quotes are authentic. It has always been true that non-jihadi Muslims have been challenged as not Muslim enough by jihadis,’ Geller said.

Center for the Study of Political Islam Executive Director Bill Warner has done research into the issue and confirms that jihadi Muslims have a record of targeting Muslims they believe aren’t practicing true Islam.

Warner’s research shows that from 2002 through 2011, the number of Muslim on Muslim attacks has gone from a few hundred per year to over 1,500 per year.

‘There has always been the jihad of purification, to act on Muslims who aren’t following their doctrine well,’ Warner said.

‘However, we have to understand that the Quran speaks of the fact that one Muslim may not call another Muslim a kafir, so in order to kill them they must find their Islam lacking,’ Warner said.

‘So if your Islam is weak you can be killed, however, the Quran calls them hypocrites because Muslims aren’t supposed to call other Muslims kafirs,’ Warner said.

Warner explains that Islam covers both sides of every issue.

‘You have to understand that within Islam there’s always a yes and always a no. There are always two answers to every question. What is jihad? It’s the inner struggle. What is jihad? Oh, it’s killing kafirs,’ Warner said.

‘I don’t know of anything where there’s simply a single answer,’ Warner said. ‘There’s always a way to do anything you want to do in Islam.’

‘Muslims kill each other all the time. What do you think is happening in Syria right now?’ Warner said.

Islamic ‘Justice’: Pakistani Court Orders Kidnapped Christian Girl To Stay With Her Muslim Kidnapper

Pakistan Christian Post – “A Christian girl Rebbeca who was kidnapped from Sukkur in Sindh on October 2, 2012, was produced before the high court Sukkur circuit bench on 22 October on application of her father Younis Masih was handed over to her kidnapper husband by judge of Sindh High Court rejecting appeals by her lawyer to send her to Darul Aman.

In the court the girl did not speak a word because she appeared to have been so frightened and terrorized that she continued to mince her lips in helpless manner but did not utter a word. She was accompanied with Mian Aslam son of politically powerful Mian Mithoo the Member of National Assembly of ruling Pakistan Peoples Party PPP who has been accused of kidnapping non-Muslim girls, keeping them in her Haveli for few weeks and then managing their marriages with his servants or followers.

Manzar Dahar a man who kidnapped her and later married her on force on behest of Pir Mian Mithoo also accompanied her and later took her to his home. Despite repeated requests by father of girl Younis Masih and his advocate Mukesh Kumar to send her to Darul Aman as according to them she was under intense pressure and fright but the judge Justice Naamatullah Phulpoto rejected their requests and allowed her to go with her kidnapper husband and adjourned the hearing to 2 November.

Dr. Nazir S Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress PCC have said that Pakistan Peoples Party PPP leaders are involved in kidnapping and enforcedly converting Christian and Hindu girls to Islam in interior Sindh.

Nazir Bhatti said that if ruling PPP not expelled its Member of National Assembly from Ghotki named Mian Mithoo from his seat then Hindus and Christian from Sindh will launch move not support PPP in next general elections because MNA Mian Mithoo is protecting culprits who are kidnapping and enforcedly converting them to Islam and sells them to Muslim bidders.

Nazir Bhatti said that Christian and Hindu girls are kidnapped by tools of PPP MNA Mian Mithoo and later forced to be sex-slaves of Mian Mithoo and other PPP Muslim feudal lords and later sold to Muslim for marriage in Sindh.” Read more.
