By MICHAEL CARL – “Following successful campaigns in Egypt, Libya and other Middle East and North African nations, the Muslim Brotherhood now is trying to destabilize and possibly overthrow Jordan’s government, according to reports.

The Saudi-owned news channel Al-Arabiya, citing leaked files, reported the embattled regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his allies have sought to destabilize neighboring Jordan by manipulating peaceful demonstrations there and turning them into deadly violence.

The leaks came amid rising political tensions in Jordan. Mass demonstrations in the capital Amman were sparked by a decision by Jordan’s King Abdullah to dissolve the parliament ahead of Muslim Brotherhood protests planned for Friday. Abdullah is calling for early elections.

International Christian Concern’s Middle East analyst, Aidan Clay, says the Muslim Brotherhood is one of the biggest threats to Jordan’s stability.

He said the move to dissolve the parliament as a gesture of compromise was politically risky for the king. The Muslim Brotherhood did not accept the move, Clay noted, considering it to be half-hearted.

‘Yet, the king is still a seasoned politician who may be able to offer concessions that the Muslim Brotherhood accepts,’ he said.

‘The problem is, of course, that once concessions are offered, the Muslim Brotherhood will likely be emboldened and demand even more,’ Clay warned. ‘And, the king will not be able solve this dilemma by holding elections in accordance to country’s current law, which lacks a national consensus.’

Clay said elections ‘would only deepen the crisis.’

‘Greater reforms will have to be made,’ he said. ‘Additionally, the king must deal with government corruption immediately in order to calm the situation, or else protests will continue and gain momentum.’

Dutch human rights activist Martin Janssen reported from Jordan that the Muslim Brotherhood voiced suspicion about the move.

‘As in other Arab countries, the Jordanian monarchy is causing dissatisfaction among the people. The Muslim Brotherhood is using that to stir up demonstrations against the government,’ Janssen said.

The media mogul — whose company owns Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post and others — said Vice President Joe Biden ‘threw [the] CIA under the bus’ and ‘now [White House] throws State [Department]!’ He also came down on Mitt Romney, saying the Republican presidential nominee needs to ignore personal attacks at the next debate and focus on his jobs plan…

Murdoch has been fairly free with his Twitter advice for Romney in the past: Last month he said he needed to ‘stop fearing [the] far right’ and take more of a big tent approach to win the election. During the summer, he wondered, ‘when is Romney going to look like a challenger?’ He subsequently defended himself from an apparent barrage of negative tweets from Romney supporters, saying, ‘of course I want him to win, save us from socialism, etc.’

Illinois: Dead Birds Are On The Rise In Chicago, Investigators Try To Figure Out Why

By Adam Morgan – “Residents all over Chicago have been reporting a bizarre increase in bird carcasses over the last few weeks–most of them without any visible wounds–while the City of Chicago picked up 150 dead birds in September, a 50% increase from the month before.

The phenomenon isn’t limited to a single species. Goldfinches have been found in Lakeview, a hawk in Andersonville, and a variety of other birds are dying mysteriously in the South Loop, Gold Coast, and Old Town, where one resident finds ‘about two new ones’ every day.

Residents have taken to EveryBlock.com to report and discuss their findings, and many fear that West Nile virus might be to blame, especially after the widely-publicized death of a Chicago firefighter last week who appears to have been infected with the mosquito-borne illness.

Luckily, humans can’t contract West Nile from birds. But if the virus is responsible for the increase in bird deaths, it could mean an increase in infected mosquitoes.

But researchers at Chicago Wildlife News and the Chicago Bird Collision Monitors have another possible explanation for the mysterious deaths. Autumn is migration season, so there are more birds in the air, which means more potential collisions with windows, cell towers, and glass skyscrapers.

The Chicago Department of Public Health will test the birds collected last month, which will determine how many of them–if any–were killed by West Nile.

If you spot a dead bird (or any dead animal, for that matter), call 311 as soon as possible, so that Streets and Sanitation can remove it and hand it over to the Department of Public Health for testing.” Source – Chicago Now.

Residents Finding Lots Of Dead Birds In Chicago, ‘It’s Kind Of Eerie’ – “Some Chicago residents say they’ve been noticing an unusually high number of dead birds in recent weeks. ‘It’s kind of eerie,’ said Britt Hughes, who spotted throughout September about eight to 10 small birds lying dead on the ground near her workplace in the South Loop. None of the birds had external wounds. Last week she also found a dead hawk near her home in Andersonville.” Read more.

Disease Kills Hundreds, Possibly Thousands Of Deer In The North Carolina Foothills

WSOCTV – “CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. — A disease is killing deer by the hundreds in the North Carolina foothills.

Most of the people Eyewitness News talked with reported seeing the deer carcasses near creeks in northern Caldwell County. Wildlife biologists said that’s because the deer look for a cool place after their temperature spikes while fighting off the virus.

State wildlife biologist Danny Ray has fielded calls on dying deer much of the last two months. The virus killing the animals is called hemorrhagic disease.

‘They act sick; they stumble around; they hold their head low,’ Ray said.

Experts said the virus is in various parts of North Carolina, but the hardest-hit is an area of northern Caldwell County.

Homeowner Don Edwards said he found a dead deer in his pond.

‘Everybody has a story that they’ve seen one,’ Edwards said. ‘The big fields across the street — there’s one a week.’…

But it is something few people in the area will forget.

‘I’ve never experienced deer smelling like these have,’ Haley said. ‘They are decaying from the inside out.’

Wildlife biologists fear the number of cases in Caldwell County may actually be much higher than 500. Those are just the reported cases — the number of deaths could be in the thousands.” Read more.

Kahlili: Iranians Believe War Is Near, May Temporarily Halt Nuclear Activity To Save Anti-Israel Obama Presidency

AFP – “PESHAWAR (Oct 13, 2012): A suicide bomber on Saturday blew up a car at a crowded market in a northwestern Pakistani tribal town, killing at least 16 people and wounding 30 others, officials said.

The blast ripped through the main market in Darra Adam Khel near to a local anti-insurgent peace committee office, which officials said was the target of the attack.

‘The death toll has risen to 16 and 30 others were wounded,’ local government official Fakhar-ud-Din told AFP.

He said it was not immediately clear how many peace committee members were killed or wounded because the bombing occurred in a crowded street and many shoppers were victims.

Information minister for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Mian Iftikhar Hussain said: ‘It was a suicide attack and the target was the local peace committee.’

Two other officials confirmed the bombing and the death toll and said some of the wounded were shifted to other cities for treatment as local health facilities were not sufficient.

Nobody immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, the officials said.

The peace committee comprised a breakaway group of former militants who ditched their Taliban colleagues and formed a militia supporting local elders and government efforts against militancy, a local intelligence official said.

Semi-autonomous Darra Adam Khel lies between the northwestern towns of Peshawar and Kohat and has experienced several suicide attacks and bombings blamed on Taliban militants.

Report: Massive Numbers Of Christians Leaving Bosnia-Herzegovina Due To Islamization, Discrimination, Rise In Radicalism

By Stefan J. Bos – “SARAJEVO, BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA (BosNewsLife)– Christians are massively leaving post-war Bosnia-Herzegovina amid mounting discrimination and Islamization, according to a new report released Friday, October 12.

‘Many believers leave the country since war raged 20 years ago,’ said Netherlands-based advocacy and aid group Kerk in Nood, or ‘Church in Need’, in the report obtained by BosNewsLife.

There are just 440,000 Catholics left in the Balkan nation, half the prewar figure, the group said.

The report came on the heels of talks between the cardinal of Sarajevo, Vinko Puljic,and European Council President Herman van Rompuy about difficulties faced by Bosnia’s Christians.

MOSQUES BUILD

Puljic reportedly complained that while dozens of mosques were build in the Bosnian capital Sarajevo, no building permissions were given for Christian churches.

‘The cardinal already waits 13 years on permission to build just a small church,’ Church in Need said. Authorities so far refused to return hundreds of nationalized church buildings, despite a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights to do so, according to Christian officials.

Additionally tens of thousands of people, many of them Catholic Croats, have been prevented from returning home following the war, Church in Need said. These obstacles violate the Dayton peace accords that ended the 1992-1995 Bosnian War, which split the nation between a Serb republic and a Muslim-Croat federation.

‘Time is running out as there is a worrisome rise in radicalism,’ Puljic said, who added that the people of Bosnia-Herzegovina were ‘persecuted for centuries’ after European powers ‘failed to support them in their struggle against the Ottoman Empire.'” Read more.

Tanzania: Muslim Mobs Torch Churches, Seek To Behead 14-Year-Old Christian Boy After Allegations Of Qur’an Desecration

In the aftermath of the confrontation, at least five churches were attacked, several car windows smashed and passersby injured as the angry mob moved from street to street at Mbagala Kizuiani protesting the desecration of the holy book.

Dar es Salaam Chief Sheikh Alhad Mussa Salum urged Muslims not to pursue the issue out of proportion, adding that there wasn’t ample grounds to mess up national security.

‘The incident doesn’t need emotions in dealing with. Islam means peace; we can deal with such issues peacefully. This matter involved children. Islam considers age; it shouldn’t lead to a breach of peace in our country,’ said Sheikh Salum.

He added that attacking churches would mean the boy was sent by Christians to desecrate the Quran, which he said he believed wasn’t the case.Police used teargas canisters and water cannons to quell the unrest and open up Kilwa road as the protesters hurled stones and burned tyres to block the road. Police were still engaging the demonstrators at Mbagala Zakhem late in the evening as the attacks on churches continued to rage.

A source told The Citizen on Saturday that the origins of the clashes could be traced back five days to an incident in which a Christian and Muslim boy got into an argument over the power of the Quran to turn anyone who defiled it into a snake.

According to those reports, the Christian boy swore he would not be harmed if he played with the Quran while his Muslim friend maintained that he would turn into a snake or run mad if did so…

The incident turned deadly after the angry Muslims mobilised more support during Friday prayers, reportedly in an attempt to grab the boy from the police station and behead him.” Read more.

Raging Seas: Will The Election Results Cause Massive Riots To Erupt All Over America?

By Michael Snyder – “Will the most divisive campaign in modern American history culminate in massive riots in our major cities?  Right now, supporters of Barack Obama and supporters of Mitt Romney are both pinning all of their hopes on a victory on November 6th.  The race for the presidency is extremely tight, and obviously the side that loses is going to be extremely disappointed when the election results are finalized.  But could this actually lead to violence?  Could we actually see rioting in communities all over America?  Well, the conditions are certainly ripe for it.  A whole host of surveys over the past few years have shown that Americans are very angry and very frustrated right now.  In fact, a Pew Research Center poll from late last year found that 86 percent of all Americans are either angry or frustrated with the federal government.  We have seen this frustration manifest in protest movements such as the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street, but right now things are fairly calm as liberals and conservatives both look forward to November 6th.  Many Republicans started the countdown to the next election literally the day after John McCain lost back in 2008.  All of their hopes of getting Obama out of the White House are riding on a Romney victory.  For many Democrats, Barack Obama is a ‘once in a generation’ icon.  Just the thought of Mitt Romney replacing Obama in the White House is enough to push many of them to the brink of insanity.  In recent years we have seen horrible rioting erupt in cities after major sports championship games.  How much worse could the rioting potentially be if this bitterly contested election is decided by a very narrow margin – especially if there are allegations that the election is ‘stolen’?

The election is nearly four weeks away, and many Obama supporters are already threatening to riot if Obama loses.  The following are some very disturbing messages that were posted on Twitter recently that have been reposted on Twitchy.com

Al-Qaeda Leader: Wage Holy War Against The United States And Israel

Fox News – “CAIRO – The leader of Al Qaeda is encouraging Muslims to wage holy war against the United States and Israel in response to a film that insulted Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

Ayman al-Zawahri, in an audio message released by Al Qaeda’s media arm As-Sahab early Saturday, claimed Washington allowed the film’s production under the pretext of freedom of expression, but added that ‘this freedom did not prevent them from torturing Muslim prisoners.’

The crudely-produced amateur film, ‘Innocence of Muslims,’ which was posted to YouTube and other online forums, was made by an Egyptian-born American citizen. The video sparked violence in the Middle East, including in Egypt and Libya, where Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others were killed on Sept. 11 during an attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. Dozens more have also been killed in violence related to the film.

In Saturday’s audio recording, Al-Zawahri praised ‘honest and zealous’ demonstrators who breached the U.S Embassy in Cairo and attackers who stormed the U.S. ’embassy’ in Benghazi.

Separately, officials said this week that Al Qaeda is rebuilding in Iraq and has established training camps for insurgents in the nation’s western deserts as the extremist group seizes on regional instability. Iraq has seen an increase in Al Qaeda attacks over the last 10 weeks, and officials believe most of the fighters are former prisoners who have either escaped from jail or were released by Iraqi authorities for lack of evidence after the U.S. military withdrawal last December. Many are believed to be Saudi or from Sunni-dominated Gulf states.

During the war and its aftermath, U.S. forces, joined by allied Sunni groups and later by Iraqi counterterror forces, managed to beat back Al Qaeda’s Iraqi branch. But now, Iraqi and U.S. officials say, the insurgent group has more than doubled in numbers from a year ago — from about 1,000 to 2,500 fighters. An average of 140 attacks each week across Iraq, up from 75 attacks each week earlier this year, according to Pentagon data.

‘AQI is coming back,’ U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, declared in an interview last month while visiting Baghdad.” Read more.
