Massachusetts: Hundreds Of Dead Fish Found Floating In Heritage Park Pond, Biologist Sent To Examine Fish Kill

By Heidi Voight, WWLP.com – “EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Families visiting East Longmeadow’s Heritage Park Sunday were shocked by the sight and smell of dead fish.

Upset viewers alerted 22News using our Report It feature, so we sent a crew to investigate. We found hundreds of what appear to be sunfish floating on the surface of the water and lining the shores.

One local fisherman told 22News he noticed the fish stopped biting after a kid’s fishing derby a couple weeks ago. ‘I thought maybe the water’s been polluted, or even maybe the kids just took the hooks off and damaged the fish and just threw them back in, could be any reason for it,’ Tony Calvanese.

‘I wouldn’t let my kids be around this area after seeing that. I think it’s disgusting and I think it’s unsanitary,’ said Lina of Springfield.” Read more.

US Officials: CIA Thwarts Al Qaeda Underwear Bomb Plot On Anniversary Of Bin Laden’s Death

Maybe NOW the war on terror is officially over

Associated Press – “The CIA thwarted an ambitious plot by Al Qaeda’s affiliate in Yemen to destroy a U.S.-bound airliner using a bomb with a sophisticated new design around the one-year anniversary of the killing of Usama bin Laden, The Associated Press has learned.

The plot involved an upgrade of the underwear bomb that failed to detonate aboard a jetliner over Detroit on Christmas 2009. This new bomb was also designed to be used in a passenger’s underwear, but this time Al Qaeda developed a more refined detonation system, U.S. officials said.

The FBI is examining the latest bomb to see whether it could have passed through airport security and brought down an airplane, officials said. They said the device did not contain metal, meaning it probably could have passed through an airport metal detector. But it was not clear whether new body scanners used in many airports would have detected it.

The would-be suicide bomber, based in Yemen, had not yet picked a target or bought his plane tickets when the CIA stepped in and seized the bomb, officials said. It’s not immediately clear what happened to the alleged bomber.

The operation unfolded even as the White House and Department of Homeland Security assured the American public that they knew of no Al Qaeda plots against the U.S. around the anniversary of bin Laden’s death. The AP learned about the thwarted plot last week but agreed to White House and CIA requests not to publish it immediately because the sensitive intelligence operation was still under way. Once those concerns were allayed, the AP decided to disclose the plot Monday despite requests from the Obama administration to wait for an official announcement Tuesday.” Read more.

Translated by Nicolai Sennels, via Jihad Watch – “A man in his twenties was stabbed three times in the stomach with a knife when he and three female friends were assaulted on Nørrebro in Copenhagen.

‘He was stabbed once in the right side and twice on the left side,’ says Frank Blem-Nielsen from the Copenhagen Police to bt.dk.

The victim has undergone surgery at the hospital, but is reported now out of danger.

The four tourists from different places in Denmark – three men and one woman, all in their early twenties – visited Copenhagen in connection with a music concert. In their search for the center of Copenhagen, they strayed into Nørrebro. As they crossed the People’s Park, the car was surrounded by a group of immigrants.

‘They were pulled out of their car by a group of 10-12 men. One (the man) was stabbed with a knife in the stomach. The others (the three women) were beaten with fists, but have not sustained serious injuries,’ says Frank Blem-Nielsen.

People’s Park is home to Blågårds gang who see it as their area.” Read more (Danish).

Flashback: Muslim Gangs Terrorize Denmark, ‘With Islam Comes Fear, And With Fear Comes Power’ – “More than 140 Muslim gang members were arrested in Denmark after they tried to raid a courthouse where two fellow Muslims are being tried for attempted murder. The Muslims — all members of criminal street gangs that have taken over large parts of Danish towns and cities — were wearing masks and bullet-proof vests and throwing rocks and bottles as they tried to force their way into the district courthouse in Glostrup, a heavily Islamized suburb of Copenhagen, on March 6. Police used batons and pepper spray to fend off the gang members, who were armed with an arsenal of 20 different types of weapons …” Read more.

Flashback: Occupation Without Tanks or Soldiers: European ‘No-Go’ Zones for Non-Muslims Proliferating – “Islamic extremists are stepping up the creation of ‘no-go’ areas in European cities that are off-limits to non-Muslims. Many of the ‘no-go’ zones function as microstates governed by Islamic Sharia law. Host-country authorities effectively have lost control in these areas and in many instances are unable to provide even basic public aid such as police, fire fighting and ambulance services.” Read more.

Indonesia: Islamic Extremists Force Authorities To Close Three Christian Churches In Aceh Province

By Mathias Hariyadi, AsiaNews.it – “Jakarta (AsiaNews) – The ongoing protests by a Muslim extremist fringe has led to the closure of three Christian places of worship in the province of Aceh, the only province in Indonesia where Shariah (Islamic law) is enacted. According to the radical movement the churches were illegal and they have demanded – under threat – the intervention of the authorities. The local administration used the pretext of an alleged lack of building permits, to seal up the buildings. One of the three is a small – historical – Catholic chapel, open for almost 40 years and full of faithful during celebrations. Although an overwhelmingly Muslim area, the province of Aceh has always been characterized by a ‘spirit of tolerance’ and this is the ‘first case’ of an intervention by authorities against places of worship of the Christian minority.

The authorities closed the three Christian buildings in Aceh last May: the Catholic Church in Napagaluh, Singkil, a sub-district of Paris Danau, the Protestant Gereja Kristen Pakpak Dairi, and also the Napagaluh Catholic Church of St. Paul, in the village of Lae Balno. A Singkil district official explains that, according to law, they are all without a building permit (IMB, Izin Mendirikan Bangunan).

The Napagaluh Catholic church, in fact, is a ‘small, historic’ prayer chapel – undung-undung in the local language – which opened in 1974 and is attended by dozens of faithful each week for the liturgies. In 38 years there were never any incidents, protests or tensions with local residents, who are overwhelmingly Muslim.

The closure is the result of a long series of protests promoted in recent times, by Islamic extremist movements in the area. Among these the Singkil Muslim Forum, which denounces the “proliferation” of Christian churches in the region.” Read more.
