Rumor: Barack Obama Will Not Run for President in 2012, Opening the Way for Hillary Clinton

Meh, though I’d love to see him step aside and into the annals of history, I doubt that someone as proud as Obama has the strength and mental capacity to humble himself enough to allow someone else to run.  If, by some sheer miracle, he did it would certainly give the Democrats a fighting chance in 2012.  What America needs right now however is a true, strong conservative who knows how to get the country out of the hole that was and is Barack Obama.  And I seriously doubt there is any Democrat who even comes close to fitting that bill …

Despite the Secretary of State’s insistence that she has no plans to try again, her supporters claim she would now be the clear choice to unite the party and be a more effective leader. Writing in today’s Wall Street Journal, Doug Schoen, a former Bill Clinton aide, and Pat Caddell, who worked for Jimmy Carter, claimed there were precedents for Mr Obama stepping down after one term in the White House. No End in Sight: Over 30,000 Square Kilometers of Japan Has Been Blanketed by Radioactive Fallout

By Mark Willacy – “Japan’s science ministry says 8 per cent of the country’s surface area has been contaminated by radiation from the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.

It says more than 30,000 square kilometres of the country has been blanketed by radioactive caesium.

The ministry says most of the contamination was caused by four large plumes of radiation spewed out by the Fukushima nuclear plant in the first two weeks after meltdowns.

The government says some of the radioactive material fell with rain and snow, leaving the affected areas with accumulations of more than 10,000 becquerels of caesium per square metre.

Last week tests found unsafe levels of radioactive contamination in recently harvested rice from the Fukushima region.

The levels of radioactive caesium were measured at 630 becquerels per kilogram, above the maximum allowable level of 500 becquerels.

Officials from Fukushima prefecture have now asked all rice farmers in the district to suspend shipments.

There have been a series of scares over radiation in food in Japan in recent months; in products such as beef, mushrooms and green tea, but never before in the country’s staple, rice.

Authorities have also begun testing soil in some Tokyo playgrounds and schools for traces of radioactive contamination.

Many people in Japan have purchased their own Geiger counters to monitor radiation levels around them.

Highlest levels yet recorded at Fukushima reactor 3 – “Tepco announced they measured 1.6 Sv/h at reactor 3, which is the highest reading of reactor 3. Since last week, Tepco has been measuring radiation in reactor 3 by using human worker to assist robot. 11/14/2011, when they washed off water on the floor and it was 1.32 Sv/h. Now they measured even higher radiation from the floor of the building. Tepco is supposed to declare that they managed to cold shut down the Fukushima plants by the end of this year, but actually, they don’t even know what is going on inside of the reactor.” Source – Fukushima Diary.

China Warns India on South China Sea Dispute

“NEW DELHI: China on Monday said ‘outside forces’ and ‘foreign companies’ should not be involved in the South China Sea dispute.

In a direct warning to India, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said, ‘We don’t hope to see outside forces involved in the South China Sea dispute and do not want to see foreign companies engage in activities that will undermine China’s sovereignty and interest.’

This was in response to a question on the discussions between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao on the sidelines of the East Asia summit in Bali last week.

Meanwhile, South China Sea will feature prominently in a new dialogue between India and Australia starting on Tuesday. The bilateral dialogue on East Asia will include exchanges on maritime security and North Korea as well.

The Indian side will be led by Gautam Bambawale, joint secretary in MEA, and Peter Rowe, senior diplomat in the Australian foreign ministry. With the uranium issue out of the way, India will also play host to Australian foreign minister Stephen Smith in early December, as bilateral ties move into higher gear.

China’s assertion of sovereignty over the South China Sea has sent all other affected countries pushing back by turning the issue into an international maritime problem. This was not on the Chinese agenda, because China wants to negotiate bilaterally with countries like Philippines and Vietnam. With India marking a prominent presence in the South China Sea, Beijing is deeply unhappy.

Describing the Singh-Wen meeting, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said the discussion centred on bilateral issues. ‘The Chinese side expressed willingness to work with the Indian side to pursue the path of friendship and cooperation and push forward bilateral relations on business cooperation. The two sides enjoy cooperation potential and we hope to continue to create favourable conditions for free flow of commodities, technology, finance, services and encourage enterprises from both sides to invest to the benefit of both people.’

On India’s part, the PM has said India’s presence is ‘purely commercial’. But India is concerned about China’s growing presence in PoK, a concern openly acknowledged by the Army brass.” Source – Times of India.

India: Panic Over China’s Deployment of Four New Nuclear Ballistic Missiles – “China continues to deploy four new nuclear capable ballistic missiles, including one that can be launched from submarines (SLBM), causing fear among its neighbours and the US, says a latest report by Federation of American Scientists. This, coupled with Beijing’s reluctance to define its minimum deterrence posture, says the report, has raised doubts about its intentions in upgrading its nuclear and missile arsenal. The report authored by scientists Hans Kristensen and Robert Norris estimates that China has 240 nuclear warheads. While the report focuses mainly on China’s attempts to target the US by assigning an increasing number of warheads to its long-range missiles, it says Beijing is now using the 7,200 km-range DF-31 missiles to target India and Russia instead of the earlier DF-4.” Read more.

Category 4 ‘Kenneth’ Most Powerful November Hurricane in Recorded History

By Kristina Pydynowski – “Hurricane Kenneth formed in the eastern Pacific Ocean early this week, a rare feat for this time of year. What is even more impressive is how strong it has become.

Kenneth, which gained monster Category 4 status, is the strongest hurricane ever so late in the season for the basin.

AccuWeather.com’s Jesse Ferrell reports that no other major (Category 3 or greater) hurricanes have been observed in the eastern Pacific during the month of November since records began in the 1800s.

AccuWeather.com Expert Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski recently suggested that the eastern Pacific would have one last hurrah before hurricane season ends on November 30. That notion came true late Saturday afternoon.

The Atlantic Basin may follow suit in the upcoming days.

Tropical Depression 13-E took shape Saturday afternoon and strengthened into Tropical Storm Kenneth about 24 hours later. During Monday morning, Kenneth became a hurricane. By Tuesday morning, the storm had exploded into a major Category 4 hurricane.

The AccuWeather.com Hurricane Center has the latest statistics on Kenneth.

Not since Hurricane Winnie in 1983 has a tropical storm in the eastern Pacific formed this late in the season. Winnie took shape on Dec. 4 of that year.” Read more.

She was polite and explained that they had started out, shipping to the Middle East, and then decided to sell it here. I asked her why there was no indication on the package of the halal cert. She said … get this .. the USDA DOES NOT REQUIRE THAT LABELING.

I told her that I was extremely disappointed that they would, especially in America, choose to sell food that has, not only had islamic prayer said over it, but is processed by those who use cruel slaughter methods for other animals. Additionally, the fact that it is not clearly labeled, is wrong, as there as so many who would choose not to purchase and eat such food.

She assured me that she completely understood, and like Susan reported, she is counting up the calls to speak with the superiors.”

Nigeria: Just 8 Years After Muslim Leaders Opposed Polio Vaccinations Claiming They Caused ‘Infertility’, Country Now Sees a Four-Fold Increase of the Disease

“A four-fold increase in polio has been reported in Nigeria, with the disease spreading to other countries, a World Health Organisation official says.

Forty-three cases were reported in Nigeria this year, compared to 11 last year, the official, Thomas Moran, said.

Curbing the polio virus in Nigeria is key to eradicating the crippling disease in Africa, he said.

In 2003, northern Nigeria’s Muslim leaders leaders opposed vaccinations, claiming they could cause infertility.

Nigeria is one of four countries in the world – along with Pakistan, India and Afghanistan – where polio is still a major health risk.

Mr Moran told the BBC the disease had also spread to neighbouring Niger, Mali and Ivory Coast.

‘The success of polio eradication in Africa rests on Nigeria interrupting the virus,’ he said.

Polio was affecting eight northern Nigerian states – two more than a few months ago, the head of Nigeria’s National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHDA), Dr Ado Muhammad, told the BBC.” Read more.

Some Muslim groups would rather see death than accept the possibility that non-Muslim ‘infidels’ — “the most vile of created beings” (Qur’an 98:6) — could ever want to do anything but simply help those in need.  Here is another example of a ‘western conspiracy’ propagated by the ‘enlightened’:

In a speech to the rebel radio, Rage said local traders and other residents have been the main providers of help to the drought-hit population and that ‘God did not make them need an outside enemy or non-Muslims … We need Muslim people to be aware that the external enemy especially non-Muslims have been thinking of a new strategy. Muslims in New York Protest Counter-Terrorism

Take one Obama Administration, toss in a pint of protest, add a generous amount of blind political correctness and questionable judgments, and let it simmer on high for a few years.  You’ve got yourself a homemade recipe for disaster that will one day leave a very bitter taste in the mouths of the American people …

By Robert Spencer – “Last Friday around 500 Muslims in New York marched to NYPD headquarters in lower Manhattan to protest police infiltration of mosques and surveillance in Muslim areas. It is noteworthy that we have never, in 10 years since 9/11, seen Muslims anywhere in the U.S. mount a demonstration of comparable size against Islamic jihad terrorism and the supposed ‘hijacking’ of Islam by terrorists. Even worse, the protesters failed to explain how they would propose to stop Islamic jihad terrorism in the U.S. without this kind of vigilance.

One protester asserted: ‘Had this been happening to any other religious group, all of America would be outraged.’ That is probably true, because no other religious group has provided any cause for such surveillance. If any group did so, then it would be incumbent upon the NYPD and all other law enforcement bodies to do the same things they have done in reaction to Islamic jihad terrorism, while of course ending immediately any surveillance or other procedure that violates constitutional protections.

For these protesters to have behaved as if the surveillance of their mosques and communities was motivated by simple ‘racism’ and ‘Islamophobia’ required them to ignore a particularly significant elephant in the room: the ongoing and increasingly common reality of jihad terror plots in the United States. And ignore it they did: ‘We’re peaceful people. We don’t deserve to be under surveillance,’ said one protester. Another complained: ‘They think that all Muslims are criminals, and it’s not right.’

Those words recalled a prominent Muslim saying in 2010 that he wanted to combat ‘Islamophobia’ and ‘to try and put a good positive spin out there that Islam is a good, peaceful religion. We’re not all terrorists, you know?’

Those were the words of Naser Abdo, a Muslim soldier in the U.S. Army who was granted conscientious objector status because he did not want to fight against his fellow Muslims in Afghanistan. After gaining this status, Abdo found a novel way to put a ‘positive spin out there,’ and show that ‘we’re not all terrorists.’ He began plotting to construct bombs and detonate them in a crowded restaurant full of soldiers from Fort Hood, where another Muslim, U.S. Army psychiatrist Major Nidal Malik Hasan​, murdered 13 Americans in a jihad attack in November 2009. Abdo defiantly admitted his guilt in court, and even cried out, ‘Nidal Hasan Fort Hood 2009.’

Abdo’s case doesn’t mean that every self-described believer in Islam as a ‘good, peaceful religion’ is a murderous liar as he was, but it does illustrate the fact that assurances are not enough from peaceful Muslims—and protests against law enforcement certainly aren’t any help, either.” Read more.

Mother of Homegrown NY Jihadist: ‘My Son Was a Normal American Guy … Then He Became a Muslim and He Changed’ – “Sosa said her son’s personality began to change after the then-teenager swapped salsa for Islam about five years ago. ‘My son was a normal American guy,’ she said. ‘He did what young people do. Then he became a Muslim and he changed.’ … When he started reading the Koran in 2001, Sosa wasn’t happy because she’s a Catholic, but she noted that ‘in beginning, he wasn’t a fanatic.’ ‘He prayed and went to the mosque,’ she said. Over time, he stopped writing and listening to salsa music and spent his days praying, reading and sleeping. She said Pimentel’s fierce embrace of Islam — he converted in 2004, according to police — prompted her to move him back to the city from Schenectady in early 2010. ‘I brought him here because I didn’t like the way he was acting,’ she said… The move did not dampen his fervor.” Read more.

Iran: Resistance Is Futile, You Will Be Assimilated

“Have no doubt… Allah willing, Islam will conquer what? It will conquer all the mountain tops of the world.” – Iranian President

“Russia on Tuesday dismissed the new Western sanctions targeting Iran’s financial and energy sectors as ‘unacceptable,’ warning that such measures would hurt the chances of renewing talks with Tehran over its nuclear program.

‘We again underline that the Russian Federation considers such extraterritorial measures unacceptable and contradictory to international law,’ Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in the statement.

Iran’s foreign ministry also condemned the new measures as a ‘show [of] the hostility of these countries toward Iran.’

‘These sanctions are futile repetitious efforts which will not affect Iran’s economy,’ Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said in Tehran. ‘Such illogical, intimidating moves are propaganda and psychological war which however will not change our nation’s will but just make us more united.’

Italy, meanwhile, offered its full backing to the economic sanctions against Iran announced by the U.S. government, new Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi said on Tuesday, adding to international pressure against Tehran’s nuclear programme.

‘Italy supports with full conviction the plan for economic sanctions announced by the U.S. administration,’ the foreign ministry said in a statement.

Tough new sanctions were announced Monday by the United States, Britain, France and Canada following a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency that Iran was seeking nuclear warheads.” Read more.

Iran Will Never End Its Nuclear Quest Because It Believes Allah Is Protecting the Country – “Despite the IAEA’s recent report on Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the country’s leadership couldn’t care less. They remain unconcerned about the West’s denunciations and threats of further sanctions even after the international nuclear watchdog reported last week that the Islamic regime is building nuclear weapons. Canada: West Coast Storm Cuts Power to 80,000

“It was another wet and windy night on the West Coast, as a storm blew through knocking down trees and power lines, dumping snow on mountain highways and forcing BC Ferries to cancel some early morning sailings.

The storm knocked out power to about 80,000 BC Hydro customers across the Lower Mainland, the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island as the main front of the storm blew through early Tuesday morning.

The highwinds forced BC Ferries to cancel the 5:15 a.m. PT and 7:45 a.m. PT sailings between Tsawwassen and Duke Point near Nanaimo.

TransLink was reporting at 6 a.m. that the heavy wind and rain were causing stop-and-go service on some SkyTrain routes.

The West Coast Express train Number 1 was delayed by a fallen tree and was expected to be one hour late arriving in Vancouver, making the second train half an hour late as well.

The stormed knock out traffic lights across much of Metro Vancouver and knocked trees onto many roads. In Delta, Highway 10 Eastbound was closed by a fallen tree around 6 a.m.” Read more.
