Turkey Still Receives Cordial Treatment From Obama Administration Even While Declaring It Is Now ‘Too Late’ For Mediation With Israel

Elsewhere in the article below, one brief sentence speaks volumes in terms of where this may all be leading when even a senior State Department official “rejected suggestions that Washington should make it clear to Turkey that the U.S. would side with Israel in the event of a confrontation.”  With all that is happening right now, the nation of Israel is definitely feeling that the world is gathering against her.  Yet, in the midst of the chaos, regardless of what revelations transpire on a daily basis throughout the Middle East and the Islamic world, our Redeemer remains in full control …

Daniel 2:21, 4:17b, “He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning … the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of men.”

By Patrick Goodenough – “( – As Turkey’s leaders intensify efforts to isolate Israel internationally, the cordial treatment they are receiving from the Obama administration this week will add to concerns some Americans have about the strength of its support for Israel.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton described as ‘excellent’ her talks in New York City on Monday with her Turkish counterpart, Ahmet Davutoglu. President Obama is scheduled to meet with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan there on Tuesday. All are in the city for this week’s U.N. General Assembly sessions.

The Clinton-Davutoglu meeting came a day after the Turkish foreign minister announced that his government had blocked an Israeli attempt to open a liaison office at NATO headquarters in Brussels – the latest in a string of moves aimed at punishing Israel over a deadly commando raid on a Turkish ship carrying pro-Palestinian activists to the Gaza Strip in May 2010.

Erdogan’s Islamist-leaning government earlier this month angrily rejected a U.N. report on the incident that called the Israeli raid ‘excessive and unreasonable’ but also described the attempt to breach Israel’s blockade of the Hamas-ruled territory as ‘reckless’ and concluded that the blockade was a ‘legitimate security measure.’

While Israeli leaders have expressed a desire to heal the rift between the one-time allies, Turkey imposed sanctions on Jerusalem and declared its intention to use all international forums to make its views on Israel known.

Erdogan used a high-profile tour of Egypt, Tunisia and Libya last week to repeatedly condemn Israel and throw his weight behind the Palestinian U.N. recognition bid. And Turkish media reported that a government minister, Egemen Bagis, staged a symbolic walkout of an international conference in Ukraine on Friday when Israeli President Shimon Peres was about to deliver a speech.

In a fresh development, Davutoglu told CNN’s Turkish channel on Sunday that Turkey had threatened to veto an Israeli application this month to open an office at NATO headquarters.

‘We said we would veto this attempt and the issue was not even put on the agenda,’ Turkey’s Hurriyet newspaper quoted him as telling the news channel. It said Davutoglu also denied that Israel would benefit in any way from a recent decision to house a NATO missile defense radar on Turkish soil.” Read more.

France: ‘A Wild Horde’ of Pro-Palestinian Activists Chanting ‘Death to Jews’ Terrorize and Threaten Passengers Waiting to Board Israeli Airline

“’About 30 pro-Palestinean activists invaded the embark lobby of the Israeli airline El-Al at Roissy, crying ‘Death to Israel’ ‘Death to the jews’ and preventing the checkin of passengers.’”

According to witnesses on the spot ‘a wild horde terrorized, threatened, intimidated passengers.’ They were responding to a call from the extremist organization EuroPalestine. Some wore t-shirts calling for a boycott of Israel.

The National Bureau of Vigilance Against Anti-Semitism (BNVCA) condemned ‘the attack’ and appealed to the Prefect of Seine Saint Denis ‘to stop this aggression and discrimination that those responsible are arrested and brought to justice for disturbing the public order and incitement to hatred’.

The police and security service from the airport intervened and asked the reinforcements to disperse the demonstrators.” Source.

Iran: Imprisoned Christian Pastor To Be Hanged If Court Concludes He Converted From Islam to Christianity

Hebrews 13:3, “Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.”

Sahih Bukhari 52:260, “… The Prophet [Mohammed] said, ‘If somebody discards his [Islamic] religion, kill him.” (Hadith)

John 16:2b, “… the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God.”

By Charlie Butts – “A pastor in Iran has another court hearing scheduled for Sunday. He is under a death sentence for converting to Christianity.

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani remains behind bars in Rasht awaiting what is called a re-examination. He claims he never really practiced the Islamic faith. Jason DeMars of Present Truth Ministries tells OneNewsNow what can be expected at the hearing.

‘They will be determining whether he was a Muslim between the ages of 15 and 19 — after the age of accountability — and then 19 when he became a Christian,’ he explains. ‘Then they will forward their results on to the Branch 27 of the Supreme Court, which will have the final decision on whether he is executed or not.’

DeMars says there are several ways the court can look at it according to the Shiite faith. He takes a look at the likely argument the government prosecutor will take.

‘He did not practice Islam his entire life,’ DeMars points out, ‘but they may simply look at it and say he was born into a Muslim home, he knew about Islam his whole life, and therefore we determine that by these definitions he was a Muslim and he should recant it.’

If Nadarkhani is determined to be a Muslim, the finding will be sent to the Supreme Court for a final determination — a process that could take up to six months. DeMars is convinced the only thing that will save the pastor from the hangman’s noose is prayer.” Source.

Texas: Dozens Test Positive for Exposure to Tuberculosis at Ennis High School

By Kevin Cokely – “At least 80 students, teachers and staff at Ennis High School have tested positive for exposure to tuberculosis.

The skin tests were ordered because a teacher now on medical leave was diagnosed with the bacterial infection just before the first day of school.

Dr. Brian Smith of the Texas Department of State Health Services, said people who a positive skin test normally are not sick and are not infectious.

‘What a positive skin test means is that a person has been exposed to the disease and they have picked up a tiny bit of the bacteria that has caused their body to react to the skin test, so in those persons you can kill the bacteria by giving a single medication for nine months,’ he said.

Those who tested positive are now being told to get chest X-rays at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie.

Sixteen-year-old Shabrekia Richardson found out Friday her skin test came back positive.

‘I was shocked,’ the high school junior said. ‘I actually started crying. … I just thought, ‘I’m in a school.’ I never thought in a school I could get something like this.'” Read more.

WHO: Dangerous Tuberculosis Spreading at Alarming Rate in Europe, Will Kill Thousands If Not Halted – “Multidrug-resistant and extensively drug-resistant forms of tuberculosis (TB) are spreading at an alarming rate in Europe and will kill thousands unless health authorities halt the pandemic, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Wednesday. Launching a new regional plan to find, diagnose and treat cases of the airborne infectious disease more effectively, the WHO’s European director warned that complacency had allowed a resurgence of TB and failure to tackle it now would mean huge human and economic costs in the future.” Read more.

Japan: Typhoon Roke Heading Toward Leaking Fukushima Nuclear Plant as Contamination of Ocean Continues Unabated, Plutonium May Have Reached Coast of California

“Sept. 20 (Bloomberg) — Typhoon Roke brought evacuation orders and fears of floods to Nagoya city in central Japan today as it approached the main island of Honshu on a course toward the crippled Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear plant.

More than 1 million people in Nagoya have been advised to evacuate because of Roke and almost 80,000 have been ordered to leave due to flood risk, said Katsuya Kobayashi in the city’s disaster prevention center.

That’s more than double the numbers for typhoon Talas earlier this month, which dumped record rainfall on southern Japan, causing mudslides and floods that killed 67 people and left 26 missing. Talas was the deadliest storm to hit Japan in seven years.” Read more.

Radiation continues to spew into ocean, will remain there for 24000 years – “Within the 30km zone surrounding the Fukushima dai-ichi power plant, there is a certain amount of despair setting in regarding the question of whether or not residents will ever be able to return to their homes. Serious problems remain. ‘In reactor three, which suffered a meltdown, fuel rods containing plutonium perforated the bottom of the containment and embedded themselves in the basement of the building. Just where and how far the plutonium travelled, no one quite knows’. (political commentator Jirou Honzawa)… Immediately after the accident, when it was announced that low-level contaminated water was to be discharged into the ocean, Murakami raised the possibility than contaminants might be carried far past the Alutian archipelago and possibly reach as far as San Francisco. however the government was unable to provide a compelling rebuttal. ‘Contamination of the ocean is continuing steadily. The scary thing is that unlike cesium, plutonium has a half life of 24,000 years, longer than anyone can fully comprehend.'” Read more.

Radioactive Cesium From Fukushima on Tour of Pacific Ocean, Will Eventually Reach the Atlantic – “Scientists from the government’s Meteorological Research Institute and the Central Research Institute of the Electric Power Industry announced their findings at a meeting of the Geochemical Society of Japan this week, adding that some of the cesium will also flow into the Indian Ocean and, eventually, reach the Atlantic.” Read more.

Yemen: Prospect of Civil War Draws Closer as More Soldiers Defect to Fight Against Regime Forces

09/20/2011 Leave a comment

By AHMED AL-HAJ and HAMZA HENDAWI – “SANAA, Yemen (AP) — The grim prospect of civil war in Yemen has drawn closer as mutinous soldiers have become more deeply involved in a rapidly spreading battle against regime forces for control of the capital.

A negotiated cease-fire Tuesday halted three days of fighting that killed dozens of people, but it will not hold without a quick resolution of the key dispute: Who will lead the nation.

A peaceful way out of Yemen’s seven-month crisis may not come easily, if at all, making it more likely to be settled in large-scale and ruinous street battles pitting renegade army soldiers and their allied tribal fighters against U.S.-trained forces loyal to embattled President Ali Abdullah Saleh and led by his son and one-time heir apparent, Ahmed.

Already, pro-regime forces reinforced their positions in their strongholds in the south of the capital, apparently in anticipation of renewed fighting. The potential for bloody strife has been shown in Yemen since the uprising against Saleh’s regime began in February, with hundreds of protesters killed and thousands wounded at the hands of security forces.

In the past three days, pro-regime forces killed more than 70 people, mostly protesters, using anti-aircraft guns, rocket-propelled grenades and mortars. At least 23 people were killed in Sanaa on Tuesday as the fighting intensified and spread to sensitive areas of the capital before the cease-fire took hold after nightfall.” Read more.

‘Tension Is In The Air’: First Signs of Violence Ahead of Palestinian Statehood Vote

09/20/2011 Leave a comment

“Some Israeli officials expect the Palestinian statehood bid at the UN scheduled for this week to cause an eruption of violence in Judea and Samaria. The first tremors of that feared earthquake were seen on Monday.

A source in the Samarian Jewish community of Neve Tzuf told Israel Today that on Monday evening, a number of activists affiliated with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah faction used their vehicles to block the entrance to the village.

Many of the Jewish residents trying to get home simply turned around and decided to try again later. But at least one was reportedly forced to defend himself when several Palestinian thugs approached his vehicle in a menacing way.

‘Tension is in the air and I can tell that neither side wants it,’ said the source. ‘I’m afraid that the few true Abbas supporters are lighting the fire as I talk to you.’

The Jewish man continued by relating his fear that by the end of the week, when Abbas will officially request membership for ‘Palestine’ in the UN, the number of violent incidents between Palestinians and Jewish ‘settlers’ will ‘be too much for the army to control.'” Read more.

Palestinians plan mass rally in support of UN statehood bid – “Palestinian activists and officials hope to mobilize tens of thousands for a rally in Ramallah Wednesday in support of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ bid for statehood at the United Nations. The rally in the central West Bank city will also include a march from the tomb of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, at the Palestinian Authority (PA) headquarters, to Manara Square. Abbas’ Fatah party will attempt to boost attendance by closing schools for the day and allowing civil servants to attend during office hours.” Read more.

Dr. Mike Evans on PA Vote: This Is The Perfect Storm – An Unparalled Crisis For the State of Israel – It’s Going To Be War

09/20/2011 Leave a comment

“WASHINGTON – The gap between the United States and its ally Israel and other countries, especially Muslim nations, is widening as the Palestinian Authority prepares to raise the issue of Palestinian statehood before the United Nations this week, according to a report from Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin.

A possible outcome is the further isolation of Israel in the Middle East and a heated-up atmosphere if the U.S. Congress follows through on a plan to cut funds to the Palestinian Authority.

Bilateral negotiations between the PA and Israel began in September 2010 but stalled after a few months. The Palestinians cut off discussions and blamed it on Israeli resumption of settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, two areas the Palestinians want to be part of their state.

Now, PA President Mahmoud Abbas has declared that there is no further basis for discussion, and he has decided to take to the U.N. the issue of statehood, knowing that the U.S. will veto the proposal if taken to the U.N. Security Council.

A U.S. veto promises to throw U.S. relations in the Middle East into greater turmoil and further undermine American influence to reach any kind of peace accord between the Israelis and Palestinians and, indeed, relations with other countries in the region.

Faced with a certain veto in the Security Council, Abbas believes his chances of statehood recognition are better in the U.N. General Assembly.

Daniel Rubinstein, the U.S. consul general in Jerusalem, recently told Saeb Erekat, chief Palestinian negotiator, that the U.S. ‘will take punitive measures’ against the PA if it seeks to upgrade its position at the General Assembly.” Read more.

Dr. Mike Evans: ‘This was created by Obama’ … The Palestianians are following Obama’s lead – “This is the perfect storm.  The dilemma is the following:  The moment this is approved by the United Nations for statehood there cannot be a peace process any more. There can’t be negotiations.  It’s going to be war.  It’s going to be war. Hamas, Hezbollah — all the rest of them — are going to unite against the state of Israel.  It’s going to be war.  What’s going on fundamentally with Gulf oil states is the following: They’re scared to death of the ‘Arab Spring’.  Now, in order to avoid an ‘Arab Spring’ they’ve got to create another crisis greater than the ‘Arab Spring’. They’re doing that right now.  They’re buying into this in spades and they’re gonna fuel it and feed it to deter the focus on them and move it on the State of Israel.” Listen to entire interview.

Palestinian Leader: PA to Proceed with Full UN Membership Bid Because President Obama Endorsed Palestinian State – “‘I’m going to the UN in order to demand our legitimate rights and secure full membership for the state of Palestine,’ the Palestinian president said in Ramallah. ‘We hope to secure full membership.’ … Abbas said the Palestinians will be aiming to ‘secure independence in the 1967 borders and its holy capital, Jerusalem.’ … Abbas added that the Palestinians are proceeding with their United Nations statehood bid in September because US President Barack Obama said previously he wanted to see a Palestinian state.” Read more.
