Lo! There He Is, Out In The Desert! Russia’s Vladimir Putin Believes He “Saw Christ” In Iranian Leader
Matthew 24:28, “Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.”
“Iran’s supreme leader is being elevated to sainthood and leader of the worldwide Islamic movement by the Iranian media.
In commentaries that reflect the dictates of the Iranian regime, the media for the first time are publishing statements by world officials and others that deify Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The most significant of such statements comes from Vladimir Putin, the former president and current prime minister of Russia. The media outlet Mahramaneh reports that in October 2007, when Putin traveled to Iran, he specifically requested a meeting with Khamenei and came away dazzled.
During that meeting, according to the report, Khamenei talked about the history of Russia and what lies ahead, which surprised Putin. Afterward, Iranian diplomats said that Putin’s behavior had changed drastically. When Putin returned to Moscow, a reporter asked what he thought of the Iranian supreme leader. Putin is quoted as saying: ‘I don’t know much about the Messiah, the Christ, just what I have heard or read in the Bible, but I saw Christ, the Messiah, in the leader of Iran.'” Read more.
Putin is absolutely right and I agree with him 100%. He doesn’t know much about the Messiah …
Russia, Iran now linking up – “Despite centuries of antagonism, Russia and Iran have decided to enter into discussions to form an alliance to enhance their security cooperation, according to a report from Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin. Even while Russia has agreed to some United Nations sanctions over Iran’s nuclear development program, discussions toward a strategic alliance have been under way for months already, according to informed sources. And more discussions about that relationship, and to address a range of threats, are to take place at the highest levels of government.” Read more.

President Barack Hussein Obama Sides With Turkey, Demands Israel Apologize for Defending Itself
By Aaron Klein – “The Obama administration is applying intense pressure on Israel to issue an apology for the 2010 raid of a Hamas-supporting flotilla attempting to enter the Gaza Strip, according to informed Israeli officials.
That flotilla, sponsored in part by a Turkish group, engaged in deadly clashes with Israeli special forces. Dozens of flotilla activists armed with knives, bats and metal pipes confronted the Israeli naval raid and immediately attacked the soldiers.
Nine activists were killed, while 15 Israeli solders were wounded.
Turkey has since been demanding that Israel issue an apology for the raid, a request scoffed at by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Informed Israeli officials told WND the U.S. has sided with Turkey in its demand for an apology.
The officials said that while the U.S. does not blame Israel for the raid, the Obama administration sees Turkey as key to the transformation of the Middle East and North Africa.
The U.S. wants to end the diplomatic row between Turkey and Israel. Israeli officials said the Obama administration does not believe it can persuade Turkey to drop its apology demand and so is instead pressuring Israel.
Turkey has been a central supporter of the opposition in Egypt and Syria.” Read more.
Turkey set to sign military pact with Egypt after cutting frayed ties with Israel – “A military and economic alliance with Egypt is set to be signed by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The deal should be clinched when Erdogan visits Cairo next Monday – the first such visit paid by a Turkish prime minister in 15 years. The alliance is not intended as ‘revenge’ against Israel; Erdogan’s intention is to extend Turkey’s influence to areas it has not reached in past decades.” Read more.
Flashback: US: Defense Department Authorizes Sale of 125 M1A1 Tanks and Other Weapons and Equipment to Post-Mubarak Egypt – “While everyone in Washington was concentrating on the debt crisis this week, the Obama administration attempted to slip through a questionable arms deal that requires serious scrutiny. Though it got little attention, the Defense Department officially notified Congress on Friday that it was authorizing the sale of 125 M1A1 tanks to Egypt as well as other weapons, equipment, parts, training and logistical support. While most of the military sales to Egypt have sailed through without objection in the more than 30 years since it signed a peace deal with Israel, this is the first such sale since the fall of the Mubarak regime earlier this year.” Read more.
Flashback: U.S. to Resume Formal Muslim Brotherhood Contacts – “The United States has decided to resume formal contacts with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, a senior U.S. official said on Wednesday, in a step that reflects the Islamist group’s growing political weight but that is almost certain to upset Israel and its U.S. backers.‘The political landscape in Egypt has changed, and is changing,’ said the senior official …” Read more.
Inferno: At Least 57 Wildfires in Texas Burns Down 1,000+ Homes, Ravages Over 3.5 Million Acres Since December
By WILL WEISSERT – “AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — More than 1,000 homes have been destroyed in at least 57 wildfires across rain-starved Texas, most of them in one devastating blaze near Austin that is still raging out of control, officials said Tuesday.
Gov. Rick Perry, who cut short a presidential campaign trip to South Carolina on Monday to return to help oversee firefighting efforts in Texas, toured a blackened area near Bastrop, about 25 miles from Austin, where a fast-moving blaze destroyed nearly 600 homes on Monday.
At a news conference afterward, he marveled at the destruction and pointing out that more than 100,000 acres in the drought-stricken state had burned over the past week, and that more than 3.5 million acres — an area roughly the size of Connecticut — had burned since December.
‘Pretty powerful visuals of individuals who lost everything,’ Perry said. ‘The magnitude of these losses are pretty stunning.’
Some residents said they were surprised by how quickly the blaze engulfed their neighborhoods.
‘We were watching TV and my brother-in-law said to come and see this,’ Dave Wilhelm, 38, who lives just east of Bastrop said. ‘All I saw was a fireball and some smoke. All of a sudden: Boom! We looked up and left.’
Wilhelm returned Tuesday to find his neighbor’s house and three vehicles gone, some of his own children’s backyard toys destroyed but their house spared.
‘Some stuff is smoldering on the lot behind us. Inside of the house, we smell like a campfire. We’re definitely very lucky.’
The fire had scorched some 30,000 acres by Tuesday, and the Texas Forest Service said crews were still trying to contain it. State emergency management chief Nim Kidd said that the fire was the most destructive fire of the year in Texas, and that the number of homes destroyed will likely go up, once the hardest-hit areas are assessed.
The blaze was one of dozens that started Sunday in Texas and that were fed by strong wind gusts caused by Tropical Storm Lee.” Read more.
Erdogan: After Downgrading Diplomatic Relations, Turkey is ‘Totally Suspending’ All Defense Ties with Israel
“Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that Turkey was ‘totally suspending’ defense ties with Israel, after downgrading diplomatic relations with the country.
While it was initially reported that Erdogan had also suspended all trade ties between the two nations, this was later clarified to refer to defense-related trade only.
‘Trade ties, military ties, defense industry ties – we are completely suspending them. This process will be followed by different measures,’ Erdogan told reporters in Ankara.
But an official at Erdogan’s office later told Reuters the prime minister was referring to military and defense trade ties only, not overall trade, which last year reached a total bilateral volume of $3.5 billion.
Erdogan also said that Turkey would implement further sanctions against Israel and said that ‘our ships will be seen more frequently in [the Eastern Mediterranean].’
Some Turkish and Israeli commentators have suggested Turkey might use the feud with Israel to build up naval patrols in seas between the Israel and the divided island of Cyprus.
Turkey has bitterly complained about recent Cypriot-Israeli energy deals and the presence of Turkish ships would have a menacing effect.” Read more.
