Egypt: Tension Rises as Islamists Dominate Tahrir Square Chanting ‘The People Want to Implement Sharia’

By ELIZABETH A. HARRIS – “As my colleague Anthony Shadid reports, tens of thousands of Egyptians poured into Tahrir Square on Friday for a day that had been billed as one of unified protest against the interim military government. But the turnout was lopsided, dominated by members of religious movements, ranging from the most conservative, the Salafists, to the relatively moderate Muslim Brotherhood.

According to The Associated Press, instead of chanting ‘The people want to topple the regime,’ a slogan heard at protests across the Arab world this year, from Tahrir Square to Tunisia, demonstrators called out, ‘The people want to implement Sharia,’ a strict code of Islamic law.

This video, which was posted on YouTube on Friday, is said to show the Salafists, many of them wearing skullcaps and conservative attire, walking toward Tahrir Square. Men in T-shirts and baseball caps look on as they pass by.

Egypt has been showing increased signs of polarization, Mr. Shadid reports, and the rift between religious and secular factions was clearly in evidence on Friday as many secular Egyptians responded to the scene in Tahrir Square on social media sites.” Read more.

Revelation 12:1, “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars”

Interesting. I’m running Stellarium right now and the only times ‘the woman’ is clothed with the sun and the moon is under her feet are always somewhere in between the Feast of Trumpets each year (Rosh Hashanah) and the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) during the Ten Days of Awe. I’ve checked 2012-2015.

I do not understand the program Stellarium as to what it is telling me ?? What does it point to regards Rev 12:1 for Sept 13 – 2015 which is Rosh Hashina and according to the Torah calendar the day that the 120th Jubilee begins

It just shows what you see in 42:20 of the video posted above, that the ‘woman’ is ‘clothed’ with the sun and the moon is under her feet, but it only happens in between the FoT and the DoA. Not sure if it means anything, but just found it interesting in light of the ‘gospel in the stars’ that he mentioned in the last third. I’ve heard of the ‘gospel in the stars’ theory before but never really gave it a lot of thought.

This is well worth exploring as I believe the particular configurations we are seeing this year are unique and may well qualify as siginificant signs for those who are watching for them. Yes, the sun and moon are often in Virgo between FoT and DoA, BUT, go back and forth for many years, and you will not see the moon at her feet (it’s usually midway between her hand and leg, etc.). You will not see Venus coming forth from her womb, as it is this year.

Furthermore, in keepin with Rev. 12, not only is Virgo clothed with the sun, the moon at her feet and the morningstar coming from her womb, but on the very day of Yom Kippur (Oct. 8) Draco, the dragon, will unleash a meteor superstorm in the direction of Virgo and this superstorm will be most visible in the middle east.

Watched video and downloaded program. On 2015-09-14, the sun is over the left shoulder of the virgin, the earth is over her lady parts, and the moon is on her left forearm, just below the elbow. I have no idea what that means. But its a pretty cool program!!

I did center it on Jerusalem, which apparently the San Diego pastor did not. Didn’t change much, except the angles of the constellation.

I’m sure you guys have watched the Star of Bethlehem videos, but in case you haven’t, they’re very interesting: http://www.bethlehemstar.net/ That guy identifies, he thinks, the very day of Jesus’ birth, and the day of his death. I guess we could follow along, type in the dates in Stellarium to verify his findings.

But ICA, back to our other conversation regarding timing of Christ’s return: you said regarding the blowing of the “last” trumpet 1 Cor 15:51 refers to Rev 10 (I agree) but also “this should leave no doubt that ‘the last trump’ refers to the trumpets of Revelation, not the FOT per se” But if the Feasts are so important, as apparently more and more Christians are deciding (me included), why DOESN’T it refer to the FoT FOR SURE? I mean, I think it does.

And if it does, HOW does it? And what happens exactly on the FoT? And what happens exactly on the DoA? The FoT SEEMS to do with announcing Christ’s return–but is it the LAST trumpet? If so, what happens for 9-10 days until the DoA? The DoA seems to concern judgment, i.e., the Day of the Lord. But now we have a quandary–separation between Christ’s return and the judgment. Not a single day. Could the first be Yeshua repelling the enemy from Jerusalem and the other the judgment of the (still) living, perhaps the sheep and goats, to enter the Millennium?

The problem with the 10 day gap is, of course, that it allows the camel’s nose under the tent of post-trib-ism. If its 10 days, why isn’t it 7 years, per Finley’s 2550 days? (I don’t think it is). But the gap exists, no matter what hermeneutic you’re using, so back to the original question, what happens on the FoT and DoA?? I guarantee something does, and each one is very significant. We need to figure it out.

OK, a justification for the FoT being the freeing of Jerusalem–its the beginning of the “civil” year, having to do with national Israel. Jerusalem/Israel being freed on that day would be the re-initiating of it sovereignty, its “Independence Day”. Would that be called “the Day of the Lord”, the payback on Israel’s enemies?

What would happen for the next 9-10 days? Time for the rest of the nations and alive individuals to repent before judgment?

Bickle of IHOP believes both in the classic 7 year trib and post-trib (as does Joel). He thinks the diff between the 1260 and the 1290 days is a 30 day, world-wide rapture/resurrection procession (“every eye will see him…”). Instead of 30 days, maybe its 10?

    I need answers, people.

It is the search for answers Kurt that keeps us focused on Christ return – it would be nice just to know everything with certainty but I think God has a purpose for not reveling everything at once – our minds likely could not handle it all due to information over load

Anonymous – thanks for the info above – times are sure getting exciting – I have a feeling that very soon we will see our king – and what a glorious day that will be

I am with Mike and Joel as I tend to lean toward a final seven year period, with the last 3 1/2 years being the time of the great trib. So, all of these signs in the fall, when one also takes into account the historical events that may be happening at the same time (dec. of palestinian state, Egyptian elections, Iran’s saber rattling, possible war in Israel etc.) ought to at least prompt us to be extra watchful at that time. IF there is a final seven year period, I have to wonder if it is going to begin this fall.

I have been thinking about the time period of 2011-2018 for a long time now – a few years at least. When I saw everthing that was lining up for this autumn, I figured it was entirely possible that 2011 was going to be a doozy of a year long before this year ever began. I felt deeply impressed as I studied Jeremiah 25 and Daniel 9 that the 70 year period of which they spoke might have a dual fulfillment. Obviously, the “desolations of Jerusalem” ended with the end of the Babylonian captivity, but might that 70 years of “desolation” also have begun to tick off again with the reformation of the state of Israel in 1948? If that is so, then 70 years brings us to 2018, and the final seven year period would begin this fall.

If this is correct, then the signs discovered by Mark Biltz in 2014-2015 may indicate the beginning of the great tribulation, as they would be at the halfway point and then on into the first year of the trib.

Just my thoughts. This is “AtHisFeet” by the way. I don’t know why my name has started coming up as “anonymous”. Maybe I need to register again?
