It’s Official: Palestinians Will Seek UN Recognition of Statehood in September 2011 Based on Pre-1967 Borders

And they’re not simply seeking a state based upon 1967 borders.  They’re seeking statehood based upon ‘pre-1967’ borders.  Sounds an awful lot like they’re looking at 1948 borders cloaked in 1967 language …

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

“The Palestinian Liberation Organization late Sunday decided to take their case for statehood to the United Nations in September, making official what has been speculated about for the past year. Palestinians will ask the UN for recognition of a Palestinian state based on pre-1967 lines, membership in the United Nations and recognition of the right to self-determination in accordance with the UN charter, official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

In a meeting of the PLO Executive Committee, Committee Secretary Yasser Abed Rabbo said that the situation stems from the desire of the Palestinian people to achieve a just and comprehensive peace where the state of Palestine independently lives in peace and security with its neighbors, according to the WAFA report.

The PLO leadership called on all countries in the world, ‘without exception,’ to support its decision to seek statehood in the United Nations, which it said is aimed at resuming negotiations based on the Arab Peace Initiative, the positions of the Quartet, US President Barack Obama’s ideas and statements by the European Union.” Read more.

The verses of Holy Quran have useful effects on the heart and make an ailing person healthy, he added.

According to some Islamic researchers, ‘Surah-e-Rehman’ is useful to cure patients suffering from depression and anxiety.

Egyptian Muslims Torch 8 Christian Homes on Rumor of Church Construction

“(AINA) — A mob of nearly 200 Muslims torched eight Christian homes on Saturday morning in the Upper Egyptian village of Awlad Khalaf. The attack was initiated by a rumor that a house which is being built by Wahib Halim Attia will be turned into a church. Two Christians and one Muslim were injured, no fatalities were reported.

Wahib Halim Attia obtained a license to build a house in the village on a 95 square meter plot. The house grew to an area of 350 square meters but was still on agricultural land that he owns. This gave rise to the rumor that he intended to build a church instead.

Father Weesa Azmy, the priest at St. George Church in the neighboring village of Negou Madam East, said that someone went to the City Council in Dar es Salam and told them about the irregularities in the house construction, and Wahib was ordered to remove the excess by June 24. ‘Instead Wahib carried on with the construction, which angered the Muslims, who decided to play God and take the law into their own hands; they attacked the construction site and other Christian homes.'” Read more.

Japan: Residents Near Fukushima Have Radioactive Urine

“More than 3 millisieverts of radiation has been measured in the urine of 15 Fukushima residents of the village of Iitate and the town of Kawamata, confirming internal radiation exposure, it was learned Sunday.

Both are about 30 to 40 km from the Fukushima No. 1 power plant, which has been releasing radioactive material into the environment since the week of March 11, when the quake and tsunami caused core meltdowns.

‘This won’t be a problem if they don’t eat vegetables or other products that are contaminated,’ said Nanao Kamada, professor emeritus of radiation biology at Hiroshima University. ‘But it will be difficult for people to continue living in these areas.’

Kamada teamed up with doctors including Osamu Saito of Watari Hospital in the city of Fukushima to conduct two rounds of tests on each resident in early and late May, taking urine samples from 15 people between 4 and 77.

Radioactive cesium was found both times in each resident.” Read more.

Radioactive Strontium from Ocean Soil Off the Plant – “Strontium-89 and strontium-90 have been detected in soil and ocean water, but for the first time they have been detected in ocean soil 3 kilometers off the coast where Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant is located. John MacArthur Says America Is Under Divine Judgment

‘Materialism, drunkard pleasure seeking, arrogant conceit, defiant sinfulness, moral perversion, and corrupt leadership… Do you not see [them] in America?’ MacArthur asked a roughly 3,000-strong Christian audience at the four-day conference which began June 24.

The head pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, Calif., MacArthur identified Israel’s six sins leading to six curses on that nation from Isaiah 5, saying those misdeeds were not isolated to Israel.

Author of more than 150 books, the evangelical leader said, ‘I look at America… people say what is wrong with this country. That is what’s wrong with this country. Right there. They have rejected the Word, the law of the Lord, the Holy One Himself.'” Read more.

“KABUL (Reuters) – An eight-year-old Afghan girl was killed when a bag of explosives given to her by Taliban insurgents exploded as she approached a police outpost in southern Afghanistan, the government said Sunday.

‘The insurgents handed over a bag with a homemade bomb to an eight-year-old girl and asked her to take it to police forces,’ the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.

‘As the girl was getting close to the police, it exploded and killed the girl.’

There have been occasional cases of insurgents using female bombers — or more commonly of fighters dressing as women in head-to-toe burqa coverings — but the use of children had been almost unheard of until recently.

In May, Afghan police paraded four boys, all under 13, they said had been recruited as bombers from their homes in neighboring Pakistan. One of the boys said they had been told they would live through the suicide attacks.” Read more.

It’s sad to see racism so alive and well in this day and age. Up until fairly recently one’s inclination had always been to think of the white supremacist or the Ku Klux Klan when referring to a ‘racist’ or a ‘hate group’. Since the election of America’s first black President there was the hope that any racial divide would have been all but eliminated in a post-racial America. Unfortunately, however, the definition has now expanded to include not only the white supremacist and the KKK, but also the black supremacist and the Black Panthers. Instead of a country uniting, race relations in some areas are approaching the sort of divisions that America hasn’t seen since the 1960′s …

By Paul Wilkinson – “Tonight, around 11 p.m., a group of at least 60-70 African American youth marched down one of the side streets (W. Thrush) to the 4 lane main drag (Sheridan). They were yelling threats to white residents. Things such as we need to kill alll the white people around here. They were physically intimidating anyone calling for help from the police. They were surrounding cars. Cars on the main drag had to slam on their brakes to either avoid the youth blocking not only all four lanes, but a large section of the side street as well. fights were breaking out among them. They were rushing residents who looked out their doors, going on to porches, yelling threats to people calling the police for help.

Cars were doing U turns on the streets just to avoid the mob, mostly male. One youth stated his grandfather was white and several assaulted him on the spot. One police officer answered the call. The youth split into two large groups, one heading north, the other south. They were also yelling racial threats to the police officer but he was outnumbered. Another police car did not show up until after the youth finally dispersed and the patty wagon (van) also eventually showed up.

Residents are very shaken, both black and white alike. This is the fifth large mob action in about a month with smaller groups of 10-12 are out threatening children and adults a few evenings a week or later into the night. The times vary, even occuring during the day. In talking to the police officer, they are short staffed. Residents were advised to simply keep inside and to lock their doors. In other words buckle down, it’s not even safe to sit on your porch or go into your yards.

“A STRONG 6.4-magnitude earthquake has struck near the coast of Indonesia’s Papua province but there are no immediate reports of damage or tsunami warnings issued.

The quake struck at a depth of 36km, 161km from Enarotali, at 9.16 pm local time (10.16pm AEST), the US Geological Survey said.

There was no warning or advisory posted on the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre website.” Read more.
