Rev. David Wilkerson Killed in Texas Car Crash
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive [and] remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
“Rev. David Wilkerson, founding pastor of Times Square Church in New York City and author of the well-known book The Cross and the Switchblade, was killed Wednesday in a head-on collision in Texas. He was 79.
‘It is with deepest of sadness that we have to inform you of the sudden passing of Reverend David Wilkerson, our founding pastor,’ Times Square Church Senior Pastor Carter Conlon said in a statement on the church website.
Conlon added that details of the family’s wishes and a memorial service would be provided as information became available.
Crash Details
Wilkerson was driving east on U.S. 175 in Texas Wednesday afternoon, and moved into the opposite lane where a tractor trailer was driving westbound. The truck driver saw the car and tried to move out of the way, but still collided with the pastor’s car head on, according to Public Safety Trooper Eric Long.
It’s unclear what caused Wilkerson to veer into the other lane. His wife Gwen was also involved in the crash and rushed to the hospital, along with the truck driver.
Wilkerson was pronounced dead on the scene.” Read more.

UK Issues ‘Deport to Afghanistan’ Death Sentences for Converts from Islam to Christianity
By Sam Jones – “Two Afghan asylum seekers, who say they fear they will be killed for being Christian if they are returned home, are to be deported to Kabulon Wednesday.
Ahmed Faizi, 29, has been on a hunger strike at the Harmondsworth immigration removal centre near Heathrow for six days.
According to friends, Faizi – who has a cross tattooed on his right arm – is convinced that he will be killed if forced to return to Afghanistan. He told a friend: ‘If the Taliban don’t execute me for being a Christian, my family will.’
His friend said that Faizi was physically weak and worried that the recent burning of a Koran in the US would make Afghanistan even more hostile to Christian converts.
‘He told me that if he goes back, people will kill him and it’s much better if he dies here.'” Read more.
Muslim Group Claims Royal Wedding is Legitimate Terror Target
By Victoria Ward – “Muslims Against Crusades, which had its application to protest on Friday turned down by police, yesterday urged Muslims to stay away from central London when Prince William marries Kate Middleton and to avoid all means of public transport due to the heightened risk of an attack.
Assad Ullah, leader of the extremist campaign group, insisted that it had no ‘inside knowledge’ but was simply repeating security fears that have already been widely reported.
‘There is a legitimate Islam opinion that those who have been attacked have the right to retaliate,’ he said.
‘British foreign policy is causing this kind of feeling and increasing the instability in this country. We do not advocate violence but can see how they made themselves a legitimate target for others.’
Announcing that the group had abandoned its plans to protest against the wedding, group spokesman Abu Abbas said: ‘We urge all Muslims to stay away from the royal wedding, not only because of the drinking, drug taking and sexual promiscuity but because of the likelihood of an attack by the Mujahideen.'” Read more.
Egyptian Gas Pipeline to Israel Attacked and Blown Up By An ‘Unknown Armed Gang’
“A pipeline carrying gas from Egypt to Israel and Jordan has exploded after an attack by an armed gang in the north Sinai area of Egypt.
A tower of flames shot into the air and forced the pipeline to be shut down, Egyptian security officials say.
It is the second such attack in a month on the pipeline, south of the town of el-Arish, just 30 miles (50km) from the border with Israel.
On that occasion, when gunmen planted explosives, they failed to detonate.
‘An unknown armed gang attacked the gas pipeline,’ an unnamed security source told Reuters, adding that the flow of gas to Israel and Jordan had been hit.” Read more.
