Fears That University Has Been Infiltrated by Islamist Extremists
By Duncan Gardham – “Westminster University elected Tarik Mahri, 23, to the job of president of the union despite his links to the group Hizb ut-Tahrir which advocates the establishment of an Islamic state.
His vice-president, Jamal Achchi, 26, also has links to the group, raising concerns that the university’s student union has been taken over by extremists.
In the past members of the group have been accused of encouraging street violence against non-Muslims and of sexism and homophobia.
The Prime Minister has said the group should be banned as it ‘seeks to poison young minds against our country’ …” Read more.
Media Ignores Islamic Views of Brazilian Murderer
By James Heiser – “The horrific, premeditated massacre of nearly a dozen children at a school in Rio de Janeiro was the work of a Islamic extremist — but the English language press is either ignoring or concealing the alleged murderer’s religious beliefs.
An article from the Associated Press relates many of the sickening details of the Willington Oliveira’s shooting spree:
Stalking the halls of his one-time elementary school here on Thursday, 23-year-old Brazilian Wellington Oliveira killed 10 girls and two boys aged between 12 and 14, most with shots to their heads, even as children begged him to stop…
Witnesses said Oliveira entered the Tasso da Silveira school in Rio de Janeiro, which has about 1,000 pupils, at around 8.30am, armed with two pistols and an ammunition belt, shooting at students and repeatedly yelling: ‘I’m going to kill you all!’
Later reports corrected the reported number of those slain to a total of 11, but updated reports have done little to expand on a critical piece of information neglected in many reports: Oliveira’s Islamic extremism.” Read more.
Christians Begin to Flee Egypt
By Ryan Jones – “A growing number of Egypt’s 8-10 million Coptic Christians are looking for a way to get out as Islamists increasingly take advantage of the nationalist revolution that toppled long-standing dictator Hosni Mubarak in February.
Egypt Daily News reported on Tuesday that ‘lawyers who specialize in working with Coptic Egyptians…say that in the past few weeks they have received hundreds of calls from Copts wanting to leave Egypt.’
‘They are insisting on leaving Egypt because the risks of staying here are too great,’ Naguib Gabriel, a Coptic human rights lawyer, told Egypt Daily News. ‘Many Christians are afraid of the future because of the fanatics in the mosques.'” Read more.
Israel National News: Will 2012 See The Beginning of Gog-Magog?
By Dr. Yacov Tabak – “… In Israel, we find ourselves in foreboding circumstances today, in Spring 2011. The State of Israel seems to have lost a major measure of its support in the non-Jewish world and is being stampeded into abandoning large parts of the Land of Israel to the tender mercies of sworn enemies who have no peaceful intentions at all – the Palestinians.
These are Arabs who constitute a ‘national entity’ invented recently of whole cloth and which never existed in world history. Their wish is to destroy the State of Israel and kill as many Jews as possible in the process. Prime Minister Netanyahu is being pushed into formulating a plan of further concessions, beyond those already granted …
The Palestinian enemy fully expects this scenario to materialize and so, steadfastly refuses to negotiate. Since the ‘World’, lead by US President Barack Hussein Obama whose father was a practicing Moslem, does not punish them in any way for not negotiating, they feel vindicated in this assessment.
Let us consult Jewish sources to see if there are hints as to upcoming events. First we will review a possible scenario constructed from the Palestinian declared intentions and from prophetic sources that correlate with them. Then we will quote these sources in detail so as to back up the scenario.” Read more.

Entire Island Could Be ‘Obliterated’ During Eruption, Taal Volcano Residents Must Move Out Permanently
“BATANGAS CITY— The chief of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has urged the local government here to start drawing up a long-term relocation plan for people living on Taal Volcano as he warned that the entire volcano island could be ‘obliterated’ in case of an eruption.
‘Sometimes nature will prevail, the people have to leave so why not invest now in the long term to avoid [endangering] people’s lives,’ Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum told a meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council of Batangas on Monday.” Read more.
Earth Getting Mysteriously Windier
By Mason Inman for National Geographic News – “The world has gotten stormier over the past two decades—and the reason is a mystery, a new study says.
In the past 20 years, winds have picked up around 5 percent on average.
Extremely strong winds caused by storms have increased even faster, jumping 10 percent over 20 years, according to the new analysis of global satellite data.
The study, the first to look at wind speeds across such a large swath of the planet, bolsters some earlier findings, according to study leader Ian Young, of the Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia.
‘Some regional studies had found similar results, so we suspected there may be an increasing trend,’ Young said.” Read more.
Sorting Out End-Time Theologies – Dr. Michael Brown Interviews Joel Richardson
Dr. Michael Brown: “I am not interested in speculation but I am very interested in information, and we need to understand what is happening in the Muslim world and how, perhaps, what is happening in the Muslim world ties in with what is happening in our neck of the woods and what ties in, perhaps, with what’s even written in Scripture.” Downoad the MP3 here.
“Meet Joel Richardson, and hear his perspective on the importance of the Middle East, Israel, and Islam in the unfolding of the end times events! Could the Islamic “messiah” be the antichrist? In the second hour, Dr. Brown sifts through different end-time theologies!
Hour 1: Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: There is a redeemer. He will come and establish His kingdom on the earth, and every knee will bow to Him, every tongue will recognize that He is Lord. And He is not the one that the Muslims call “the redeemer,” He’s the one they wrongly call “Esau,” rejecting the Son of God. He will come, and Muslim knees will bow, Muslim tongues will confess that Jesus is Lord. Let’s pray that God will hasten that day!
Hour 2: Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: God will keep His promises to Israel, and they will be literally fulfilled. God wants us to be living in light of the return of Jesus; He will appear, and we will become like Him, and we will be with Him forever. How, then, should we live today? Let us live righteous, holy, and godly lives, as we look forward to and hasten the day of His appearing.” Link: The Line of Fire Radio.
Middle East Problems Caused by the West? British Journalist Niall Ferguson Mops the Floor with Historical Facts
Niall Ferguson, author of Civilization, will help us examine the role of the West in the revolution in the Arab world – and explain what history can tell us about why certain cultures appear to dominate the world at certain times.
Ferguson: “… [W]hen one’s trying to understand the problems of the region it’s far more illuminating to talk about the long-term legacy of Ottoman rule than to talk about the relatively short-term impact of British, French or Italian rule … You can’t say it’s the fault of Imperialism and leave out the longest living empire in the Middle East, which was the Ottoman Empire — the Muslim Empire — which went back much further than any of the European empires …
Let’s be absolutely clear here. The culture that exists in the greater Middle East and North Africa today bears very, very few resemblances to the culture that the Europeans tried to implant there beginning in the late 19th century and carrying on through to the mid 20th century. It owes far more to the long-lasting impacts of, say, Islam — let’s not forget that — which has had the biggest impact on the region of any empire. So it seems to me the problem with arguing that it’s all the fault of ‘British Imperialism’, that’s to misdiagnose the problems. And can I just pick up on one important point, which is slightly different, which is when you look at the problems that currently exist in a country like Egypt they have far more to do with the ways in which those countries have been governed in the last 30 years than with anything that happened under British law.”

Thousands of Dead Fish in Michigan River
By ANDREA ISOM – “It is a stinky and scaly situation in River Rouge as thousands of dead fish were discovered floating along the shoreline. The smell has been described as almost unbearable.
Viewers were so concerned they called FOX 2.
‘I eat fish out of this river. I fish there. My nieces and nephews fish out of this river and ate out of this river,’ said Guy Cason. “I’m concerned. I’m concerned about their well-being.'” Read more.

16 Dolphins Washed Ashore Dead in India
“PUDUCHERRY: Sixteen long-nosed dolphins were washed ashore dead at three places along the Puducherry coast on Monday. It has raised concern among environmentalists as it is the 20th instance in 16 months of protected marine mammals being washed ashore dead or alive.
On an average, about 250 dolphins are washed shore dead or alive every year, said Dr R S Lal Mohan, retired principal scientist of the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI).
A group of fishermen in Pudukuppam in the Union territory spotted five dead dolphins on the shore on Monday morning and alerted the forest and fisheries department officials. A few hours later, fishermen from neighbouring hamlets also informed them about 11 more dead dolphins found at two other places.” Read more.
Will Obama Push For Palestinian Statehood This Year?
By Arshad Mohammed – “… Clinton spoke against the backdrop of the popular revolts that have toppled long-time authoritarian leaders in Tunisia and Egypt this year and spurred public protests in much of the Arab world, including Libya, Bahrain, Syria and Yemen.
‘The status quo between Palestinians and Israelis is no more sustainable than the political systems that have crumbled in recent months,’ she said, saying the only way to meet both people’s aspirations was through a two-state solution.
‘And while it is a truism that only the parties themselves can make the hard choices for peace, there is no substitute for continued, active American leadership — and the president and I are committed to that,’ she added.” Read more.
