Dr. John MacArthur Now Teaches the ‘Islamic End-Time Paradigm’, not the ‘Revived Roman Empire’

Daniel 12:4, “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

Some teachers of Bible prophecy still stubbornly insist that the number one persecutor of Christians will suddenly become a “Revived Roman Empire”. Does it stand to reason that the immense rising tide of Christian persecution we are seeing perpetrated by Islamic extremism today — an anti-Semitic and anti-Christian ideology and set of religious laws that has taken nearly 1400 years to expand to where it has today — will one day and without warning be eclipsed by the rule of some adored, charismatic leader of a yet-to-be-seen new-and-improved European Union virtually overnight?

Though I would argue against the idea of a ‘7 year tribulation’ that some teachers still ascribe to, it is good to see more and more pastors such as John MacArthur beginning to teach the “Islamic End-Time Paradigm” and not the traditional “Revived Roman Empire” position.  Eyes are being opened, and prophetic knowledge is increasing indeed …

Excerpt: “As you get to the end of human history and you get into the period of time of the tribulation, there is a specific fulfillment of this prophecy that I want you to understand, and it has to do with Islam.  Most people think of Islam as an utterly distinct religion from Christianity with no connection to Christianity … there are many religions that have no connections to Christianity … The Muslim ‘Jesus’ plays a crucial role in Islamic eschatology … the Muslims have an eschatology, in other words they have a ‘theology of the end’ [and] they know where they’re going according to their writings … let me describe the Muslim ‘Jesus’ to you …”

Oh The Irony: New Egyptian Law Bans Protests and Demonstrations

Isaiah 19:4, “‘I will hand the Egyptians over to the power of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them,’ declares the Lord, the LORD Almighty.”

I expect this so-called law to be used against Coptic Christians when they protest against the harsh treatment and persecution they have to endure at the hands of Islamists.

“Cairo (AsiaNews) – The Egyptian cabinet approved a decree that criminalises strikes, protests, demonstrations and sit-ins that interrupt private or state owned businesses or affect the economy in any way. It calls for severe punishment of those who call for or incite action, with a maximum sentence of one year in prison and fines of up to US$ 85,000. The new law still needs to be approved by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, which took over following Mubarak’s fall from power.

Sources told AsiaNews that the measure is meant to stifle the voice of the people who led the Jasmine Revolution and oppose the results of the recent constitutional referendum, manipulated by the Muslim Brotherhood.

‘This law confirms the Brotherhood’s attempt to take over the Jasmine Revolution,’ the source said. The army and the Islamist party have struck a deal to maintain the country’s stability and the price is the ideals of democracy and democracy that brought down Mubarak. ‘The danger is the rise of an Islamic dictatorship that would replace the military regime that has governed the country in the past 40 years.'”  Read more.

Claim: Al Qaeda Sets Up ‘Islamic Emirate’ in Eastern Libya

Daniel 11:43, “He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and all the riches of Egypt, with the Libyans and Nubians in submission.”

Al Qaeda says that they are practicing ‘true’ Islam as it is taught in the Qur’an.  Guess what the word “Islam” means?  Here is a hint.

“AL-QAEDA has set up an Islamic emirate in Derna, in eastern Libya, headed by a former US prisoner at Guantanamo Bay.

However, residents in the city have told reporters there is no substance to these rumours, which they claim the Libyan government is sowing to ‘scare Europe’.

‘Al-Qaeda has established an emirate in Derna led by Abdelkarim al-Hasadi, a former Guantanamo detainee,’ Khaled Khaim said.

‘They have an FM radio station and have begun to impose the burqa’ (head-to-toe covering for women) and have ‘executed people who refuse to cooperate with them.’

Khaim said Hasadi has a lieutenant, ‘also a member of Al-Qaeda and named Kheirallah Baraassi’ in Al-Baida.”  Read more.

Magnitude 6.5 Earthquake Strikes Near East Coast Of Honshu, Japan

(AP) “A magnitude-6.5 earthquake shook eastern Japan off the quake-ravaged coast on Monday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported, prompting Japan to issue a tsunami alert.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, but the Japan Meteorological Agency announced that a tsunami of up to 1.6 feet (a half meter) may wash into Miyagi Prefecture.

The alert was prompted by a quake that the U.S. Geological Survey measured at 7:23 a.m. Monday Japan time (2223 GMT Sunday) near the east coast of Honshu.

The USGS said the quake was 3.7 miles deep.”  Read more.

CDC: ‘Superbug’ That Kills 40% Of The People Who Come In Contact With It Spreads to 35 States

“The joke that’s going around is that the Mayans got it wrong: The world is ending this year, not 2012.

Here’s the lates sign of that.

A superbug is spreading around America, and has hit Southern California.

LA Times:

A dangerous drug-resistant bacterium has spread to patients in Southern California, according to a study by Los Angeles County public health officials.

More than 350 cases of the Carbapenem-Resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae, or CRKP, have been reported at healthcare facilities in Los Angeles County, mostly among elderly patients at skilled-nursing and long-term care facilities, according to a study by Dr. Dawn Terashita, an epidemiologist with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

It was not clear from the study how many of the infections proved fatal, but other studies in the U.S. and Israel have shown that about 40% of patients with the infection die. Tereshita was not available for comment Thursday morning but was scheduled to speak about the study in the afternoon.

What’s in the Venice, Florida Beach Water? Health Inspectors Baffled

“By Adam Freeman – VENICE, FLORIDA — On what looked like the picture perfect day at Venice Beach on Wednesday, there was actually a problem.

Bacteria in the water forced the Sarasota Health Department to repost advisories, warning people not to go swimming.

‘I don’t understand it. Many other people don’t understand it either,’ said Emilio Tavernise, vacationing from Ohio, ‘it aggravates you because you are on the beach and you can’t swim.’

The warnings are back in the same place they’ve been for most of the past month. After being taken down last week, recent water samples forced health inspectors to put them up again.

Tavernise says many of his vacationing friends have already run out of patience.

‘Between 85 and 95% got disgusted enough where they jumped in their car and either went that way or the other way,’ he explained.

The health department says the bacteria may cause stomach illness, rashes, or infections, especially to children and the elderly.

But inspectors say they’re frustrated because they can’t figure out exactly what’s causing the problem.”  Read more.

Hundreds Of Dead Fish Found At Midland Duck Pond, Texas

“By Robert Guaderrama – Midland, Texas- Residents are shocked after they find hundreds of dead fish floating in a Midland pond. A bizarre incident at the Wadely-Baron Park duck pond has Midlanders concerned and asking questions.

The sight today was disturbing, a strong smell had people gathering around the pond with jaws dropped when they realized where the smell was coming from.

The duck pond in midland provides a great environment for families to escape the city and enjoy some of nature’s treasures, but today residents found a sickening sight.

‘There were people and children walking around, I didn’t know what to think about what I was seeing, I was mortified,’ said Jeann Ette, concerned resident.”  Read more.
