There’s A New Holocaust Taking Place, But This Time It’s Against Christians
By Alan Caruba – “The Holocaust of the last century is remembered for the mass murder of Europe’s Jewish population, an estimated six million who perished. In total, an estimated eleven to seventeen million Europeans, Jews and Christians, died in the Nazi concentration and death camps or were murdered outright in their homelands.
Records were lost or didn’t list religion, but the lesser known story of the Holocaust was the death of millions of Christians, three million of whom were Poles, predominantly Catholics, killed by the Nazis for being Poles. They have a special place in Jewish history because many Poles, risking immediate execution if caught, were among the “righteous Gentiles” who were rescuers of Jews.
I cite this because there is a new Holocaust abroad in the world and it is directed at Christians, particularly in the Middle East and throughout Africa, wherever Islam is the dominant religion. Nor is this is a new phenomenon; Christians were widely persecuted under the Ottomans (Turks) when their empire encompassed much of the Middle East
It is clearly manifesting itself again and to far too little notice.” Read more.
Latest al-Qaida Magazine Praises Arab Revolutions
Steve Emerson – “Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula released its fifth issue of Inspire Magazine, with a clear explanation of its views about upheaval in the Middle East and what that means for the organization’s aim to retake the Holy Land.
While uprisings in Bahrain, Egypt and elsewhere in the region have been peaceful, several articles in the issue stake the claim that such popular actions somehow validate al-Qaida’s violent ethos.
‘The cover of this issue is about the Tsunami of change that is sweeping the Arab world. With the removal of the despots, the ummah [nation] will speak its voice, and when it does, it will chant: Here we start and in al-Aqsa [Jerusalem] we’ll meet,’ says Yahya Ibrahim in the introductory article.” Read more.
Fukushima Could Lead To A Tragedy Far Beyond Chernobyl, Creating Permanent Dead-Zones in Japan
Dr Michio Kaku: “This is huge. For the first time they’re [the Japanese government] using that dreaded word ‘breach’, meaning uncontrolled release of radiation into the environment. And remember that unit 3, which is suspected to have the breach, contains plutonium. Plutonium is the most toxic chemical known to science. A spec of plutonium — a millionth of a gram — could cause cancer if it’s ingested, and so this has to be looked at very carefully because if there is a full abandonment of the reactor site, if they abandon ship, we could be in free fall.”
Israeli Map Shows Nearly 1,000 Hezbollah Sites
Way to go, UN. Glad to see that you’re enforcing UNSC Resolution 1701 and disarming Hezbollah. If the United Neandertha, er, Nations doesn’t take its own resolutions seriously, why should anyone?
By AMY TEIBEL – “JERUSALEM — The Israeli military on Thursday released a map detailing what it says are nearly 1,000 underground bunkers, weapons storage facilities and monitoring sites built by the militant Hezbollah guerrillas in southern Lebanon.
Many of the sites on the map are located south of the Litani River in Lebanon, the zone where Hezbollah is banned from keeping weapons under the U.N.-sponsored truce that ended Israel’s summer 2006 war with the guerrilla group.
An article on the military spokesman’s website says Hezbollah has set up some 550 bunkers, 300 monitoring sites and 100 weapons storage facilities. The facilities are located in 270 villages, and many are located near hospitals, private homes and schools, the military said in a statement published on its website.” Read more.
Dead Fish Fill Missoula Duck Pond, Montana
By Skylar Browning – “Visitors to the duck pond on the south side of town will find a pretty gross scene: more dead fish than actual ducks.
Roughly 50 dead fish are visibly floating on the surface of the small pond. Neighbors first noticed the issue and reported it to Missoula Parks and Rec yesterday. This morning, Parks and Rec recovered one of the fish and sent it to Fish, Wildlife and Parks for testing.
‘We don’t know what caused it. We don’t even know what kind of fish it is,’ says Morgan Valliant, the city’s conservation lands manager. ‘Right now, we don’t know much except that they’re there.'” Read more.
Around 300 Fish Found Dead in Alexandria Lakes, Minnessota
“ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (KSAX) – Around 300 dead fish were found in Lake Agnes and Lake Henry earlier this month in open water areas after ice had melted. But both residents and experts said they’re not sure why.
‘All winter long, I’ve been fishing the lake (Henry), and I ran into a situation where we had a four to six foot column of fish, and all of the sudden, they disappeared. I could not find a fish on the lake,’ Lake Henry resident and fisherman Rick Colden said.
Colden isn’t the only one who’s had a hard time on the lakes, as more than 2,000 anglers failed to catch a fish at a tournament on the adjoining Lake Agnes on Feb. 12.” Read more.
Swans, Ducks, Turtles Found Dead in Australia
By Laura Brodnik – “THE bodies of 24 Pacific black ducks were found in and around Lake Kimberley at Banora Point on Tuesday.
The North Coast office of the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (DECCW) received two calls advising of the duck deaths and has launched an immediate investigation.
A DECCW North Coast spokesman said two black swans, two moorhens, some turtles and water dragons had also been reported as being dead or sick.
‘These two reports are the only reports of this nature received in the Banora Point and Tweed region,’ the spokesman said yesterday.
‘The department has staff investigating this incident today.'” Read more.
Radioactive Contamination in Groundwater Under Fukushima Reactor 10,000 Times Government Standard
“FUKUSHIMA, Japan — Officials with the company that operates Japan’s tsunami-stricken nuclear plant say radioactive contamination in groundwater underneath a reactor has been measured at 10,000 times the government health standard.
A spokesman for plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co. says the company doesn’t believe any drinking water supply is affected.
Contaminated water has been pooling at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power complex since it was damaged by the devastating earthquake and tsunami. It has already leaked into the ocean.” Read more.
Japan’s Nuclear Rescuers: ‘Inevitable Some of Them May Die Within Weeks’
By Dominic Di-Natale – “Workers at the disaster-stricken Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan say they expect to die from radiation sickness as a result of their efforts to bring the reactors under control, the mother of one of the men tells Fox News.
The so-called Fukushima 50, the team of brave plant workers struggling to prevent a meltdown to four reactors critically damaged by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, are being repeatedly exposed to dangerously high radioactive levels as they attempt to bring vital cooling systems back online.
Speaking tearfully through an interpreter by phone, the mother of a 32-year-old worker said: “My son and his colleagues have discussed it at length and they have committed themselves to die if necessary to save the nation.” Read more.
TURKEY: Christians Despised
“Four years after the brutal murders of three Christians at a publishing house in Malatya, Turkey, attitudes toward Christians in Turkey have become even less favorable. According to a new report from the Turkish Association of Protestant Christians, the Christian minority in Turkey suffer discrimination, slander, personal attacks and attacks against churches on a daily basis.
Legal changes that followed Turkey’s bid to become a full member of the European Union made it possible for non-Muslims to found places of worship in Turkey. In practice, however, ‘negative attitudes of civil servants’ pose substantial barriers to non-Muslims, especially Protestants, who want to establish places of worship. Local officials often refuse to issue licenses to new churches; last year, three churches faced legal problems relating to their buildings.” Read more.

President Obama: ‘Mosques Destroyed’
By Robert Morrison – “The President finally addressed the nation and the world nearly two weeks after initiating military action against Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi. Boiling down his speech, he claimed a moral imperative to intervene with force because Gaddafi had killed innocent civilians and destroyed mosques in his struggle to hang on to power.
‘Mosques destroyed,’ the president said, supported his argument for air strikes. Churches are being destroyed daily in the Muslim world, but the U.S. does not intervene. Take Iraq, for example. We have sacrificed thousands of our soldiers’ lives and billions in treasure in an effort to bring freedom to this war-torn country.
But the Christians there are daily being murdered and their churches bombed. As a senator, Barack Obama had no interest in preventing Saddam Hussein from filling mass graves. He vocally opposed our going into Iraq. That was then.
In Pakistan, the only Christian cabinet member was assassinated and a Muslim governor who sought to protect a Christian woman from death was also gunned down, reputedly by his own security guard. Christians in Pakistan face escalating persecution. Their churches are attacked and anyone who converts from Islam to Christianity is killed.” Read more.
