Fatalities Reported After Massive Earthquake Strikes New Zealand

UK: Muslim Street Jihadists Slash Christian Teacher’s Face, Fracture His Skull

The Opinionator – “Four men launched a horrific attack on a teacher in which they slashed his face and left him with a fractured skull because they did not approve of him teaching religion to Muslim girls.

Akmol Hussein, 26, Sheikh Rashid, 27, Azad Hussain, 25, and Simon Alam, 19, attacked Gary Smith with a Stanley knife, an iron rod and a block of cement.

Mr Smith, who is head of religious education at Central Foundation Girls’ School in Bow, east London, also suffered a fractured skull.

The four now face a jail sentence.

Detectives made secret recordings of the gang’s plot to attack Mr Smith prior to the brutal assault.

The covert audio probe captured the gang condemning Mr Smith for ‘teaching other religions to our sisters’, the court heard.

The RE teacher was targeted as he made his way on foot along Burdett Road in nearby Mile End on July 12 last year, Snaresbrook Crown Court was told.

Prosecutor Sarah Whitehouse told the court: ‘The evidence from what was said on the probe points overwhelmingly to a religious motive for this attack.’

It is believed the gang had made two earlier attempts to get at the teacher.

They were due to stand trial for the attack at Snaresbrook Crown Court but pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.” Read more.

Muslims broke into the home of a Coptic family this afternoon and abducted their 18-year-old daughter Nesma Sarwat. The abductors wrote messages on the home’s wall, the messages said “Islam is the solution” and “The Church has to be demolished.”  Read more.

Could Mecca Time Replace Greenwich Mean Time?

“For 125 years, the world has set its watches based on one clock, on the top of a hill, in London. But that could change with the building of a new clock tower in Saudi Arabia.

According to the Telegraph, the Royal Mecca Clock Tower is a newly-erected building in Mecca, Islam’s holiest city, located in Saudi Arabia. The clock is set to start tomorrow, as Muslims around the world begin to observe Ramadan. It looks very similar to London’s St. Stephen’s Tower (which contains the Big Ben bell), but on a much larger scale. Each face of the clock measures 151 feet in diameter, and once a spire is added the tower will stand 2,000 feet tall. The tower will remind people to pray by flashing green and white lights that can be seen for 18 miles. The clock will run on Arabia Standard Time, which is three hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.”  Read more.

The new tower is certainly impressive, but the movement behind it is even bigger. Islamic scholars argue the clock ought to replace Greenwich Mean Time as the world standard, making Mecca ‘the true center of the earth.’ Some argue that the area of Mecca is a ‘zero-magnetism zone’ due to its alignment with the Magnetic North. However, Western scientists say the Magnetic North Pole is actually a line of longitude that passes through North and South America.

Even if Greenwich Mean Time holds, the clock tower will be a major point of interest for pilgrims to Mecca — it is part of a massive new government-funded complex featuring shopping and hotels.” Source – TIME.
