Iran “could develop a nuclear weapon as early as next year”

Iran could develop nuclear weapons by as early as next year, the Defence Secretary claimed yesterday.

Liam Fox issued his starkest warning to date that the hardline Islamic state was on the brink of producing atomic warheads.

In astonishingly hawkish remarks to MPs, the Cabinet minister said it was ‘entirely possible’ that the regime in Tehran would have got its hands on a weapon of mass destruction by 2012.

Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt Wants War With Israel

Mohamed Ghanem, one of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, calls Egypt to stop pumping gas to Israel and prepare the Egyptian army for a war with it’s eastern neighbor.  Speaking with Iranian television station Al-Alam, Mohamed Ghanem blamed Israel for supporting Hosni Mubarak’s regime. Ghanem also said that the Egyptian police and army won’t be able to stop the Muslim Brotherhood movement.  Read more.

Gulf Shore Beaches Still Seeing Oil

Joey Phillips, who owns property along the beach in Gulf Shores, found the tide washed more than water ashore.  Phillips said he was walking with his wife along the water early Sunday morning. When they had finished, the bottoms of his wife’s feet were black. The remnants of oil are so tiny, you may miss them. Once you touch a piece, the crude oil smears your hands. Phillips said they are carried in with the tide.  Read more.
