Cries Of “Allah Is Greater!” Blare From Mosques After ISIS Blows Up Christian Church In Mosul

11/26/2014 1 comment

One day soon the whole world will bear witness as to who is truly greater, and every knee will bow to Him. Although another church of brick and stone is destroyed, the Church that is built upon the Rock still stands …

Matthew 16:16-18, “Simon Peter replied, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’ And Jesus answered him … ‘I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.’”

1 Corinthians 10:1-4, “For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.”

By RUDAW – “The Islamic State (IS) militants blew up the St. George’s Church and a nunnery in the city of Mosul on Monday, local sources aid.

A resident of Mosul told Rudaw that cries of Allahu Akbar ‘God is Great’ rose from many mosques in the city as Islamist militants blew up the church located in one of Mosul’s Arab neighborhoods.

Since its takeover of Mosul in June, the ISIS has blown up a number of churches, Shiite mosques and other ancient sites, including the shrine of Prophet Jonah.

Saad Mamuzin, head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) 14th branch in Mosul believes that the latest bombings are the group’s revenge for their defeat on the battleground.

‘The organization (ISIS) has once again turned to bombing churches and mosques after it lost popularity and many of its members to the airstrikes that have targeted strongholds in different areas of the city.’

The extremist group has also blown up Yezidi and Kakei shrines outside the city as thousands of Yezidi and Christians have fled their homes to the Kurdistan Region.” Source – RUDAW.

ISIS Caliphate Issues Friendly Reminder To Remaining Christians: Convert To Islam, Pay Extortion Tax, Or Die A Horrible Death

Convert, pay up, or die. This is “Allah’s” version of mercy and compassion …

Hadith, Sahih Muslim 1:33a, “The Messenger of Allah [Mohammed] said: ‘I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Mohammad is the messenger of Allah, and they establish [Islamic] prayer …”

Flashback: ISIS Commander: We Offer People The Chance To Convert To Islam And Worship Allah Before Killing Them

By Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch – “‘Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.’ (9:29)

Bishop Bob would say something about this, but the ‘Muslim-Christian dialogue’ meeting is tonight, and Imam Mahmoud is such a nice guy — did you hear the one he tells about the priest, the rabbi and the imam who walk into a bar? — and the hummus is so good over at Masjid Khalid ibn al-Walid…And anyway, Imam Mahmoud has assured the bishop that he condemns the persecution of Christians. What’s that? Did Bishop Bob ask him what programs Masjid Khalid ibn al-Walid had to teach Muslims to reject the understanding of Islam that led to the persecution? Oh, come now. You wouldn’t have expected him to be rude when everyone was being so nice, now, would you? A man doesn’t get to be a Cardinal by asking that kind of question. And that hummus — it’s out of this world!

‘Isis in Iraq: The trauma of the last six months has overwhelmed the remaining Christians in the country,’ by Patrick Cockburn, the Independent, November 23, 2014 (thanks to Thomas Pellow):

Two years ago Jalal Yako, a Syriac Catholic priest, returned to his home town of Qaraqosh to persuade members of his community to stay in Iraq and not to emigrate because of the violence directed against them.

“I was in Italy for 18 years, and when I came back here my mission was to get Christians to stay here,” he says. “The Pope in Lebanon two years ago had established a mission to get Christians in the East to stay here.”

Father Yako laboured among the Syriac Catholics, one of the oldest Christian communities in the world, who had seen the number of Christians in Iraq decline from over one million at the time of the American invasion in 2003 to about 250,000 today. He sought to convince people in Qaraqosh, an overwhelmingly Syriac Catholic town, that they had a future in Iraq and should not emigrate to the US, Australia or anywhere else that would accept them. His task was not easy, because Iraqi Christians have been frequent victims of murder, kidnapping and robbery.

But in the past six months Father Yako has changed his mind, and he now believes that, after 2,000 years of history, Christians must leave Iraq. Speaking at the entrance of a half-built mall in the Kurdish capital Irbil where 1,650 people from Qaraqosh have taken refuge, he said that “everything has changed since the coming of Daesh (the Arabic acronym for Islamic State). We should flee. There is nothing for us here.” When Islamic State (Isis) fighters captured Qaraqosh on 7 August, all the town’s 50,000 or so Syriac Catholics had to run for their lives and lost all their possessions.

Many now huddle in dark little prefabricated rooms provided by the UN High Commission for Refugees amid the raw concrete of the mall, crammed together without heat or electricity. They sound as if what happened to them is a nightmare from which they might awaken at any moment and speak about how, only three-and-a-half months ago, they owned houses, farms and shops, had well-paying jobs, and drove their own cars and tractors. They hope against hope to go back, but they have heard reports that everything in Qaraqosh has been destroyed or stolen by Isis. Christians who fled Mosul pray at a church in Qaraqosh Christians who fled Mosul pray at a church in Qaraqosh

Some have suffered worse losses. On the third floor of the shopping mall in Irbil down a dark corridor sits Aida Hanna Noeh, 43, and her blind husband Khader Azou Abada, who was too ill to be taken out of Qaraqosh by Aida, with their three children, in the final hours before it was captured by Isis fighters. The family stayed in their house for many days, and then Isis told them to assemble with others who had failed to escape to be taken by mini-buses to Irbil. As they entered the buses, the jihadis stripped them of any remaining money, jewellery or documents. Aida was holding her three-and-a-half month old baby daughter, Christina, when the little girl was seized by a burly IS fighter who took her away. When Aida ran after him he told the mother to get back on the bus or he would kill her. She has not seen her daughter since.

It is not the savage violence of Isis only that has led Father Yako to believe that Christians have no future in Iraq. He points also to the failure of both the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to defend them against the jihadis. Christians in Iraq have traditionally been heavily concentrated in Baghdad, Mosul and the Nineveh Plain surrounding Mosul. But on 10 June some 1,300 Isis fighters defeated at least 20,000 Iraqi army soldiers and federal police and captured Mosul. The army generals fled in a helicopter. In mid-July Christians in the city were given a choice by Isis of either converting to Islam, paying a special tax, leaving or being executed. Almost all Christians Read more…

Oklahoma: Muslim Attacks Christian With Knife, Says Muslims Need To “Step Up” Beheadings

11/23/2014 1 comment

After all, beheading is enshrined in “divine” Islamic law

Qur’an Sura 8:12b, “… terrorize and behead those who believe in scriptures other than the Qur’an.”

By Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch – “Where did Stepney get the idea that ‘more Muslims need to step up to the plate’ and behead people? Was it at his local mosque? And what mosque does he go to? Does anyone know? Does anyone care?

‘Man arrested, accused of slashing man after heated religious conversation,’ by Dave Detling, KOCO.com, November 18, 2014 (thanks to Pamela Geller):

On Monday authorities responded to a 911 about an assault in the 1400 block of Northeast 11th Street.

Upon their arrival, officers learned the victim, Jerome Bullock and 54-year-old Jimmy Stepney had been arguing about the Bible and the Quran.

According to the arrest affidavit, Stepney is a Muslim and the Bullock is a Christian.

The report went on to say Stepney had been making comments about beheading people.

“We were watching the news,” said Bullock. “He said he felt like more Muslims need to step up to the plate and do certain thing. He was talking about beheading people.”

Because of the statement, Bullock says he asked Stepney, who’d been staying with the family, to leave.

Stepney complied but eventually came back and started arguing with Bullock.

According to the arrest affidavit, the pair began fighting in the yard after Stepney allegedly punched the victim.

Witnesses told officers that Stepney had a knife and was attempting to stab the victim. That’s when Bullock’s mother, Diane Range, came out with a baseball bat and started swinging at Stepney.

“He was trying to kill my son,” said Range.

Bullock suffered minor cuts from the fight and Stepney was able to walk away.

“I was just trying to pay it forward by helping him out,” said Bullock. “Instead I got a lot of cuts and hurt feelings.”…

For the glory of “Allah” and his apostle of annihilation …

Qur’an: Sura 4:89, “… Kill the unbelievers [non-Muslims] wherever you find them …”

Qur’an Sura 8:39, “And fight with them until … religion should be only for Allah …”

Associated Press – “One gunman shot from the right, one from the left, each killing the non-Muslims lying in a line on the ground, growing closer and closer to Douglas Ochwodho, who was in the middle.

And then the shooting stopped. Apparently each gunman thought the other shot Ochwodho. He lay perfectly still until the 20 Islamic extremists left, and he appears to bmessenger of e the only survivor of those who had been selected for death.

Somalia’s Islamic extremist rebels, al-Shabab, attacked a bus in northern Kenya at dawn Saturday, singling out and killing 28 passengers who could not recite an Islamic creed and were assumed to be non-Muslims, Kenyan police said.

Those who could not say the Shahada, a tenet of the Muslim faith, were shot at close range, Ochwodho told The Associated Press.

Nineteen men and nine women were killed in the bus attack, said Kenyan police chief David Kimaiyo.

Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the killings through its radio station in Somalia, saying it was in retaliation for raids by Kenyan security forces carried out earlier this week on four mosques at the Kenyan coast.

Kenya’s military said it responded to the killings with airstrikes later Saturday that destroyed the attackers’ camp in Somalia and killed 45 rebels.

‘The United States condemns in the strongest terms today’s horrific attack in Kenya by the terrorist group al-Shabab against innocent civilians,’ said Bernadette Meehan, the spokeswoman for the National Security Council in Washington.

‘The United States stands with our Kenyan partners in the effort to counter the threat of terrorism and affirms our ongoing commitment to working with all Kenyans to combat these atrocities,’ her statement said.

Video: The World’s Most Persecuted Minority — Christians

11/11/2014 1 comment

Here’s a great overview of Christian persecution today in Muslim majority nations and why the mainstream media has chosen to largely ignore it …

Matthew 10:22, “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.”

Raymond Ibrahim: “Which is the most persecuted religious group in the world today? The answer, in terms of sheer numbers and sheer horror, might surprise you. It’s Christians. Specifically, Christians living in Muslim-majority countries, countries where Christians often preceded Muslims by centuries. I’m not talking about ‘war-on-Christmas’ type of harassment. I’m talking about ‘know-your-place-or-we’re-going-to-kill-you’ persecution. Astonishingly, the Western mainstream media barely acknowledge what is happening. Let’s look closer at this issue. It tells us a lot about the world we’re living in …” Watch video.

Christians Are Disappearing In The Middle East

11/10/2014 Leave a comment

Unfortunately, it’s not rapture related …

Matthew 24:29-31, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days … they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect …”

Colossians 3:12-13, “Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another …”

Titus 1:2, 2:13,In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began … Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing [epiphaneia] of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ …”

2 Thessalonians 2:8, “And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness [epiphaneia] of His coming.

Acts 14:22, “… we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”

Acts 14:22, “… we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”

By Michael Curtis, American Thinker – “On August 22, 1939, Adolf Hitler, explaining his decision to invade Poland, asked, ‘Who after all speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?’

On the centennial of the massacre of the Armenians by the Ottoman Empire, it is pertinent to ask, sixty-five years later, if the world is sufficiently aware of the persecutions of Christians, discrimination against them, the lack of respect shown for freedom of religion, and indeed the possible end of Christianity in the Arab and Muslim countries of the Middle East.

Certainly the World Council of Churches, Churches for Middle Peace, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and leaders of mainstream Protestant churches, all preoccupied with alleged violations of human rights by the State of Israel, seem to be unaware of, or pay little attention to, the fate of the mosaic of Christian communities in those Arab and Muslim countries.  It is baffling that these organizations are so unconcerned with the ethnic cleansing, being carried out by Islamists, of Christians.

These organizations and the Western mainstream mass media ignore the fact that the Christian communities in Middle East countries, except in Israel, have been declining rapidly, partly because of low birth rates and emigration, but largely because of discrimination and persecution by Muslims.  They disregard the current dilemma that 15 million Christians in the Middle East are facing 300 million Muslims and the growing threat of Islamist extremists.

The problem is not new.  Christians have long suffered discrimination, violence, persecution, and deportation in all Middle Eastern countries, and this continues today in all countries of the area except Israel.  There are countless examples of that persecution.  On October 31, 2010, after hostages were taken, a massacre occurred in the Syriac Catholic Cathedral in Baghdad, with 58 killed and 75 wounded.  The bombing of the Coptic (Christian) Church in Alexandria, Egypt killed 21 and injured 79 worshipers.

The plight today of Christians in Syria and Iraq – in the Mosul area, Orthodox or Catholic, Assyrians or Chaldeans – is a reminder and a warning of what happened exactly a century ago.

The present persecution recalls the sad story of massacres and what can rightfully be called genocide, even before the term was coined, of Armenians, Assyrians, and Pontic and Anatolian Greeks, committed by the Muslims of the Ottoman Empire.” Read more.

Matthew 24:22, 27, “And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened… For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.”

‘Terrifying': 150 Million Christians Suffering At Hands Of Muslims Have Reached ‘Biblical Proportions’ – “‘The number of persecuted Christians in the world is 150 million.’ There are many other figures, terrifying and dramatic, in the pages of the ‘Blackbook of the plight of Christians in the world’, a unique initiative of French scholars and coordinated by journalist Samuel Lieven. Snapshots of a global and amorphous war. In particular, there is a disconcerting statistic: ’80 percent of the acts of religious persecution in the world are directed against Christians.’ How many victims? The Center for the Study of Global Christianity brings the average of one hundred thousand Christians killed each year for their faith throughout the last decade. An average of five Christians every minute.” Read more.

Terrorism Expert: The Middle East Is Experiencing ‘A Christian Version Of The Holocaust And Nothing Less’ – “International media remain apathetic to Christian persecution in the Middle East. Speaking on ‘Breitbart News Saturday’ Dr. Sebastian Gorka addressed the subject after being asked by the host, Alex Marlow, why the press is not interested in the story. Before Gorka gave his answer he called the situation ‘a Christian version of the Holocaust and nothing less.’ Gorka then went on to say that the West has done much to stand up for Muslims in the past two decades. ‘Whether it was to save the Muslims in Bosnia or the Albanians, Kosovars, and Muslims in Serbia, it is now time for a humanitarian operation to save the remaining Christians in Iraq,’ he said.” Read more.

Nigeria: Suicide Bomber Kills At Least 78 High School Students For “Allah” In Northeastern Town

11/10/2014 Leave a comment

For peaceful purposes. According to Islam, it isn’t suicide when Muslims kill themselves while killing others. In fact, it’s not even terrorism. It’s simply jihad …

“Moderate” Islamic Website: “The Islamic Fiqh Academy stresses that martyr operations [suicide bombings] are a form of jihad, and carrying out those operations is a legitimate right that has nothing to do with terrorism or suicide. Those operations become obligatory when they become the only way to stop the aggression of the enemy, defeat it, and grievously damage its power.” – Faysal Mawlawi, Consultant for On Islam

Daniel 8:25a, “He will be a master of deception and will become arrogant; he will destroy many without warning …”

The Patriot – “A suicide bomber disguised in school uniform detonated explosives at a high school assembly in the northeast Nigerian city of Potiskum on Monday, killing at least 78 students, according to survivors and a morgue attendant.

Soldiers rushed to the scene, grisly with body parts, in the capital of Yobe state, but they were chased away with stones and calls by people angry at the military’s inability to halt a five-year-old Islamic insurgency that has killed thousands and driven hundreds of thousands from their homes.

A suicide bomb attack in the same city killed 30 people one week ago, when suspected Boko Haram fighters attacked a religious procession of moderate Muslims.

Some 2,000 students had gathered for Monday morning’s weekly assembly at the Government Technical Science College when the explosion blasted through the school hall, according to survivors who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of repercussions.

“We were waiting for the principal to address us, around 7:30 am, when we heard a deafening sound and I was blown off my feet, people started screaming and running, I saw blood all over my body,” 17-year-old student Musa Ibrahim Yahaya said from the general hospital, where he was being treated for head wounds.

Hospital workers said dozens are being treated including people with serious injuries that may need amputations.

A morgue attendant said 48 bodies were brought to the hospital and all appeared to be between the ages of 11 and 20 years old. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorised to give information to reporters.” Read more.
